Vanguard reports that a member of the Chibok Vigilante Group, Abbas Gaya in a telephone interview confirmed the recapturing of the women who fled the Boko Haram camp when the men attacked a military base at Damboa village in Borno state

My people please understand that Boko Haram adherents have been operating since 1990. They have been part and parcel of the people in their areas of operation. They are well known to the populace and were accepted (or least tolerated) by them. Zambisa and other forests are not strange terrains to the inhabitants of those areas. They are used to exploring the forests and carousing with adherents of Boko Haram who were never regarded as evil people by high and low in the communities until they quarreled with the State Governor.So while Boko Haramists may be devils to most Nigerians, they may not be exactly that to their neighbours of many years. My take here is that those 63 women were not abducted by Boko Haramists. They followed their familiar acquaintances into their familiar forest abode to service them and relieve them of battle stress. What is known as "troops comfort". They and Boko Haramists know themselves and have bee relating and socialising with each other in the past.. Residents of the area have been going in and out of the forest in the past. Many have been visiting the Boko Haram camps as people would the army camp in their areas. The women were not abducted but escorted, they did not escape but taken home, they were not recaptured but escorted back to base. Please don't be fooled by the propaganda of the secret sponsors of Boko Haram to disparage the government and army of Nigeria.

But this new report is silent on that. It has failed to tell which of the two groups lost 45 women again to the insurgents. The whole drama is shielded in a smoke-screen of esoteric irrelevance.
