This is the most painful feeling...waking up one day to the reality that you'll never see someone that meant a lot to you ever again untill u DIE. D reality of death...painful as hell! I lost my friend in September, I knw exactly what denrele is going thru... I want him to knw that; God knows, God cares and if he could give his only son for US, then he understands when he takes our loved ones frm us....HE UNDERSTANDS!!! ... May God grant him the grace and strength to bear this "irreplaceable" loss... And to those who knw him, he needs all the love he can get to get thru this. RIP Goldie!
Goldie, I met her in 2010 when she was a guest on our programe. She was an entertainer in all definitions. I recalled she dressed so gorgeously that I could not find a name for her her sense of fashion. She will be missed but I don't say RIP to the dead because prayers don't work for the dead again. Wether d deceased will rest in peace or not is determined by how d deceased spent his/time on earth. Even though I live abroad, I am still passionate about the Yoruba culture. Despite the stage name and music, Olabimpe was a Yoruba girl.
The Yoruba culture frowns at elders attending the funeral of younger ones (please correct me if I'm wrong). I noticed some older people in the pictures and I asked myself, "what on earth is going on?!"
They didn't need to be at this funeral to say their farewells to the departed. They should have been at the home-front consoling the bereaved parents and family.
Even though I never knew "Goldie" until a few weeks back when I saw her pictures online with Dayo Adeneye and Kenny Ogungbe in L.A., I still feel bad that such a young lady with a bright future ahead of her will die so suddenly.
However, who are we to question God? At His time, He makes all things beautiful.
Rest well Olabimpe, you have played your part.
