I'm sure you all have heard.
Their reason? To enable the country to properly reorganize the sector.
The NFF was also dissolved. And there's been an order to probe the N900 million spent on our participation at the 2010 World cup.
By this ban, it means we will miss the next African Cup of Nations in 2012 and probably the next World Cup scheduled for Brazil in 2014.
What do you guys think of this decision to ban the Super Eagles? Is a welcome development or is it rather rash?
Pls share your thoughts.

If F. G lyks make dem ban dem 4 10yrs i don care, but come instead of d government to use their tym for beta purpose lyk banning the animals @ d house of rep they are busying wasting it on useless mater.
whatever abeg...they're not a good team anyway. they should also sack the entire NFF 'cos those are the real rogues
I think the idea is a welcomed one for the first time this is happening in this country. These people don't learn anything, we keep hoping our footballers, NFF, will get better but they keeping disappointing us. FG has disbanned them & it is for them to take the break & reorganise themselves for the next two years. Outside football we can channel these resources into other sports like the track & fields,Tennis, Judo, even boxing and so on.
Firstly, it's a contravention of FIFA's rule which says that governments should not intervene in the running of Sports bodies. They will risk a suspension from FIFA and Sepp Blatter may have a few things to say about it.
Secondly, i think it's a rash decision. In France, the Parliament is interviewing the FFF, Players, Coaches and all involved in the French fiasco at the World Cup now. Even at that FIFA has warned them. Nigeria hasn't done the same. Why did the President make such a hasty decision?
On the flipside, the good thing is that it'll save us money. There's too much money in the NFF and too much embezzlement. However, someone will still embezzle the money!!
Sometimes change requires some sacrifices. I think if the two-year sabbatical is well spent, we ought to emerge a stronger, more cohesive team. Yeah, the decision is kinda harsh, but we need it! Maybe missing all those international tournaments will allow us become more focused. Like seriously, did we see our performance in this World Cup? Unless we're in love with mediocrity, we need to spend quality time developing out team.
its seems like our leaders get more and more retarded with each passing day.WTF is a ban on playing? They need to get these boys together to practice and work together like a team. After our show of fame at the WOrld Cup this is something we need to do immediately...and now they ban them...God punish the dickheads that make such laws
IM NOT SURE THE FG IS SERIOUS AT ALL.HOW CAN THEY COME UP WITH THAT RASH SOLUTION.
who should be banning who, after mismanaging fund and knowing fully well that we made it to the world by sheer whatever,l think that the Eagles are not the problem here, this can be said for every sport in Nigeria.

I like this and think it's a good step into making everything right again. They need to remake the group(rethink their priorities) for good and change all the corrupt pple out there for money..it's a right step into renovating Nigeria (they shld do this for other sectors too)!
this is def an overreaction on the governments part. not needed at all. so now i gotta sport a Ghanaian flag at the next worldcup..FAIL
Immediate withdrawal of Nigeria from all international football tournaments organized by FIFA and related events for two years is not the solutions to the problem facing our sports (Football).
The ban is not a welcoming idea because it would only take our football backward.
However it is good to build a structure where transparency would be the watchword but not with the President GLJ approach.
Believe we all remembered the outcome of Late Sanni Abacha when he stopped us from participating in the FIFA event.
900 Million Naira was spent on the Super eagles during the unfruitful event, who approved the funds? Where was the President then?
The pragmatic solution here is to go back to drawing board and build a good football academy (Not all these Okocha/Fashanu Talent Hunt)
The main problem with our football is just the “age” After under 17th tournament; any discovery within that event should be able to serve his fatherland for at least 10 years.
Also, let’s develop our league to standard, Look at league in South Africa. All multi nationals should play a vital role in resuscitating the league by sponsoring.
Bring back diligence, discipline and patriotism back into the national team
Stop the influx of these undercover players’ agents in the FA who refuse to give the real ballers the opportunity to showcase their talents.
Total Overhauling of the players and create a new foundation
this country is so messed up. they are crying ova split milk. even if they are ban for 200years, they will still keep messing up. that is not the only place we av problem with in this country. our leaders head neeeds to be checked. kettles calling cooking pots black.

me likey! 3 gbosa for presido!
I support the decision 100% this fucking eagles needs to take lesson from ghana.
lmaoo some of u are stupid!! Do u know the implication of this??? we risk a bigger ban from fifa, which means even our youth tournaments and female tournaments will be affected. Our home based clubs will also not featured in any confed cup and referees from nigeria will also be affected.
Good thing u stupid lots r not presidents. Nonsense. Agreeing with a stupid decsion.
The whole system needs an overhaul. NFF isnt above EFCC being investigated. Let efcc investigate and then from there they can charged and of course that will remove them from office. then a better administration will come into office. How will u get new players if u ban the team from playing.
Our league will also be affected. Y'all better think b4 u open ur mouth to chat rubbish
I need to get rid of them ALL OF THEM. playing for a national team is an honour. You are supposed to be a soldier. Too bad those spoilt brat and their army of white wives think they are entitled to it.
Then comes the usual corruption, people lying about their age etc..
we need new blood. Young people who age doesn't need to be assessed through bone mesurement.
the president is ignorant..he cant even speak english...just tryin to flex his muscle...the culprits here are the greedy officials who squander money and dont help train the footballers same goes for all the sports in nigeria..corrupt corrupt country!!!!
jonathan is a dull head.,i swear.
who is his adviser on sport matters..haba.this decision will only bring us backward and not forward.nonsense
