Pastor Taiwo Odukoya re-marries

 Pastor Taiwo and Bimbo Odukoya

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, Shepherd of Fountain of Life Church has re-married, four years after the death of his first wife, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya in a plane crash (Dec 12 '05).

He married a South African, Simangele Zulu,a music director based in the UK, today Tuesday 5th of January at the Civic Centre in the presence of some church and family members.

I read this news and was actually happy for him but the person with me said she felt it was too soon for the pastor to re-marry. She thinks as a pastor, he should have remained single for a little while longer as a mark of respect for his dead wife.

I think it's better to re-marry than 'live in sin' (as a pastor)

What do you guys think?

Also, is four years not enough to mourn and move on from a dead spouse?

Why are some people hypocrites? The guy is a human being for crying out loud? He needs companionship. Or do you want us to read about his scandals later on. Or is sex that easy to do without? The guy has tried for 4 years abeg. Sex is a blessing, anytime anyday. that should be enjoyed in marriage. Pastor Taiwo, carry go ojare. God dey behind you kampe. What you have done is scriptural. Let the haters get a life!

If a man cannot keep to himself, then he can as well marry, rather than commit adultery. He is a man of God, so its best if he avoids scandals by officially remarrying. Though it looks like its soon, but the dead have gone and can never come back so its no crime that the man decided to move on with his life.

hmm! Very touchy stuff!

A pastor is a man is a man is a man!!!!!
And just like every other men, would have insatiable urges....if u know what I mean?

But here's d difference, if he went about heeding to those urges, he will be crucified, dead and buried because it goes against what he teaches.
so it is better he re-married.

Linda, to that person who told you that the pastor should have waited longer than the four years he's already waited, you should have told them "easier said than done!" Are they themselves celibate? People place these crazy expectations on men of the cloth as though they were not human beings with the same urges and passion sas their congregations.

The man mourned his wife for four years, he found that he was healed enough in his spirit to be open to the blessings of love with another woman, decided to marry her as well as set a good example to his congregation and I say KUDOS to him and MIND YOUR BUSINESS to those like your friends who are not in anyway saints in their own personal lives.

No disrespect Pastor Odukoya but abeg, rock that woman's world on your honeymoon jare, you deserve it. And I am sure your beloved wife is now truly rested that she knows someone is carrying on from where she left off in the care of you and your family.

4 yrs is good enough time...even the bible supports it. Would you rather the guy commit adultery?
May God bless their union.

4 year too much! Abeg the man try. God bless his new marriage...haba...he tried!!!!

Fou year is enough. He ALONE should decide when he's ready to marry another woman. The society should NOT decide that for him.

Four years is a long time to remain in grief & alone. He deserves to have the companionship that marriage brings after such a sudden devastating loss. I wish him & his new bride all the happiness life has to offer them.

First of all, I am not against the fact that he should marry. But my question is: She's not a woman of God,would she be able to rise up in the middle of the night to fight the demons attacking their hm? 2nd of all, i think he was pressured into this. Nonetheless, the end result is all that matters.

Tell me which successful Nigerian man will loss his wife for one year and you will not see them with chains of women? Let's be realistic, it takes the grace of God and discipline to abstain from the temptations out there. Even the close friends of a late wife will make passes at the man. Other will want to make the news headlines. Pastor Taiwo made a good decision and as long as it goes well the children who will be living with the new Ms Odukoya and it pleases the man and it is not for us to say anything. Congrats Pastor Taiwo, happy married life.

Well, whatever anyone thinks , feels or says, Pastor is married and happy. Likewise everyone arround him as well as Fountaineers. Therefore, they will live happily till death do them part!
Bytheway, the new bride is a pastor so critics; stay clear. Remember, whatever God has joined together, let no man put assunder.God is in their business.
Sure also his late wife whose FIRST and LAST love he was, will be celebrating now that he has re-married rest assured he would not commit adultery and dishonour the love they shared and sherished.

Congratulations Pastor T.!

And enjoy your new LOVE!!!!!
