Wienna, Wienna, Wienna. Thanks girl for all the love. Do you know how many comments you left for me? Last count was about fifty...wow...I'm feeling you baby! Just thought to appreciate you the way you have appreciated me. Hope to hear you from you soon.
Meanwhile I was at Planet One today, venue for West African Idol Competition. Got introduced to Nana 'it doesnt werk fer me' Ambrewa, not very tall, but more good looking in real life than on TV. I lost my gold necklace, Dede was gracious enough to help me look for it...didn't find it though. I saw some of the contestants...cool guys. I also got introduced to the Idol WA crew from SA. It was nice seeing all this people you only see on TV.
Idol WA will be recording every Saturday at Planet One for the next eight straight weeks. I'll be there live watching and reporting it to you...behind the scene gist and gossip.
Also, tonight I watched 300 at the cinemas. All I'll say about the movie is that if you haven't seen it, you haven't seen anything yet. It's the best movie I've seen since Titanic and Sixth Sense. You got to see that movie. It will blow you away. I loved it, loved it, loved it!
Okay...go to go. There's 'something' waiting for me. Goodnight everyone. Sleep well. Especially you Wienna, see if you can contact me on my email address. It's linda@fmbmagazine.com.
Do take care!

MICHAEL JACKSON'S BABY MAMA?
This crazy looking Englishwoman, Nona Paris Lola Jackson, is claiming to be the mother of Michael Jackson's three children and has filed court papers in Los Angeles, seeking to share custody of the youngsters with the music legend. She alleges to be the biological mother of Michael's three kids, Prince Michael I, 10; Paris Michael, nine; and Prince Michael II, five. Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe is generally acknowledged to be the mother of Jackson's two older children, but it is unknown who gave birth to Michael's last child. In a motion filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday March 27th, Nona is requesting a say in the custody arrangement between Michael and Debbie and also requesting Jackson hand over his Neverland Ranch and another Encino, California home to her.
Nona writes in court documents, "Debbie's hospital records will prove that my kids are not hers because of DNA."I gave birth through the means of water birth because I am technically a(sic) herbalist."Jackson's spokeswoman RAYMONE BAIN has dismissed Nona's claims as "ludicrous".
Back in October, Nona Paris Lola Jackson said "Michael and I are a sexually active couple and have been this way from the beginning,". She also claims to have written more than 3,000 for Michael. A court hearing has been set for 2 and 30 May 2007.

NIGERIA'S HOTTEST SUPER MODEL OF ALL TIME.
I think this lady, Blessing Ibiang, is the best model to ever come from this part of the world. She has the best body ever, the best catwalk, best stage attitude and will work any dress and runway like it's no one's business. Wat! This girl can ignite the fire on any runway. She knows how to 'work it'.

We used to model together in Nigeria until she left to pursue her modeling career in SA, where I learnt she's one of the most sought-after models. She's modelled in New York, Paris Milan, Cape town, you name it...for real.
She even featured in the season finale fashion show of America's Next Top Model, cycle 5, which held in SA. The edition Naima won.
Blessing has been on more runways than any other Nigerian model can boast of. And girlfriend knows how to capture the attention of even the most uninterested person. Her skills are phenomenal.
I remember she was one of those people who tried to talk me into furthering my modeling career in SA, but I had other plans for my life. I got into modeling to get by, though I eventually fell madly in love with it but not enough to leave Nigeria. Besides, back then I didn't really think I stood a chance outside this shores. I always thought I wasn't tall enough (I'm 5'8') to succeed in SA, UK, USA, where ever. Or maybe I did, I'll never know, 'cos I never tried.
Anyway, Blessing is a graduate of Theatre Arts, from the University of Calabar. She is also an actress and a producer of repute. How many of you have seen the movie 'African Queen'? She produced it.

INCREASE IN UK VISA FEE.
I was sitting in my office having lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. She and I went to thesame secondary school and we remained in touch until she left for the UK in 1999. My girl came back looking really different. I can safely say living abroad has done her good. Anyway, there we were catching up on lost time, when I heard something on TV that totally stopped my discussion with dear friend. What is this I'm hearing? The British government has effected increase in it's visa application fees. It wasn't just that they increased it, but how much they increased it to.
This is the new visa fee
The Direct Airside Transit Visit, which was formerly N7, 800 is now N11, 450
Six months visa from N13, 000 to N16, 400
Students visa from N22, 000 to N25, 750
Now, longer term visit of N22, 000 is now N52, 000
Work permit which attracted N22, 000 is now N52, 000
While Highly Skilled Migrant Programme formerly N22, 000 now also attracts N52, 000
Just as settlement visa fee which was N67, 000 is now N130, 000
Can you guys imagine this? I'm not against increase, they must have their reasons, (They said something about wanting to provide a modern, effective service to Nigerians) I don't have a problem with that but increase from 22grand to 52grand is stretching it a bit too far isn't it? Nigerians who want to go to the UK do not only have airfare to contend with, but also a high visa fee. But I trust my Naija people, no amount of money will stop them from going after what they want.
By the way, this new fees take effect from Sunday April 1st 2007.

BEST LAPTOPS IN THE MARKET.
2. SONY VAIO SZ (7.5/10 Very Good)
The 3.8-pound Sony VAIO SZ isn't the lightest laptop available, even within Sony's lineup, but it manages to be eminently portable without sacrificing a readable screen or a usable keyboard. Even better, the VAIO SZ has all of the features a business user will need, from an integrated microphone and Webcam for videoconferencing to a fingerprint scanner for security, not to mention a solid array of components, such as an Intel Core Duo processor and an Nvidia graphics card.
3. LENOVO THINKPAD X60S (8.4/10 Excellent)The latest model in the ThinkPad X series, the ultraportable X60s improves upon the previous generation by adding a few more features, including built-in WWAN connectivity and the latest Intel Core Duo processors. It still lacks a built-in optical drive, but the X60s does include that fabulous ThinkPad keyboard, making it the better choice if comfortable typing is more valuable to you than viewing CDs and DVDs. And if you can do without a built-in optical drive, the ThinkPad X60s delivers a best-in-class balance of comfort, performance, battery life, and portability.
4. GATEWAY NX100X (6.0/10 Good)
With a sleek black case, brushed-aluminum details, and dark blue status lights, the NX100X looks like a minimalist's dream laptop. The impact on your bottom line will also be minimal: the NX100X costs significantly less than competitive models. Though that minimalism extends to features as well (among other omissions, the NX100X lacks a built-in optical drive), if you're looking for an extremely portable and stylish laptop and can do without a built-in optical drive, the Gateway NX100X is a solid, economical choice.
5. HP COMPAQ PRESARIO V5000Z (6.9/10 Good)The Presario V5000Z is a solid all-around notebook for a student or a home user who needs good, not great, performance and a fairly complete set of basic features, including a LightScribe double-layer optical drive and a multiformat media-card reader. Best of all, its starting price makes the V5000Z one of the least expensive base models on the market.
7. PANASONIC TOUGHBOOK 74 (6.9/10 Good)
It's expensive and bulky, but the Panasonic ToughBook 74 incorporates some of the design principles used for its military-grade laptops into a more consumer-friendly "business rugged" model that's designed to withstand everyday abuses. This laptop was tossed around, dropped on cement, and spilled a total of five cups of coffee on its keyboard...still running. Given the ToughBook 74's starting price, though, it is recommend for users who are likely to do most of their computing beyond the office, airplane, or hotel room and whose laptop will need to withstand extreme abuse.
The tiny Sony VAIO UX has a 4.5-inch (diagonal) wide-screen display that slides up to reveal a QWERTY keypad. Despite its small size, the UX runs on a full-fledged laptop CPU, a full version of Windows XP, and a touch-screen interface. Weighing 1.2 pounds, the VAIO UX has 1,024x600 native resolution display, is equipped with some pretty modest components, and has tons of networking connections. And, remarkable for such a small device, the Sony VAIO UX makes room for two cameras as well as a biometric fingerprint scanner, headphone and mic jacks, a USB port, and a Memory Stick slot.
With the MacBook Pro, Apple hasn't radically redesigned the PowerBook form factor, and that's a good thing. The sleek, aluminum MacBook Pro is slightly wider, thinner, and lighter than the 15-inch PowerBook, striking a successful compromise between portability and usability. What's more, the MacBook Pro delivers unparalleled style and a solid set of features and software, though a few transitional performance issues keep it from rivaling the most powerful PC laptops.
DELL XPS M2010 (7.3/10 Very Good)
Something between an all-in-one desktop PC and a proper laptop, the XPS M2010 accommodates a foldout 20-inch display, a detachable Bluetooth keyboard, a premium set of components, and most of the trappings of a modern Media Center PC, including an impressive sound system; a pop-up, slot-loading DVD player; and an integrated video camera and microphone for videoconferencing. It's a striking feat of engineering that's sure to garner attention in a stylish home or on a multimedia-intensive sales call. The target market here is clearly those for whom money is no object.

KAMILAT MEDHI. THE END OF A YOUNG GIRL'S DREAMS.
Beautiful 21 year old Ethiopian model and student, Kamilat Medhi, had a bright future ahead of her. She dreamt about doing a degree and becoming an air hostess.
All that changed one night when she was walking home from work with her two sisters and a stalker poured sulphuric acid in her face.
Kamilat and her sisters were on their way home from their mother's shop when a young man forced them to go down a dark alley and then someone came and threw acid in their faces. Her sisters, Zeyneba and Zubyeda, escaped with lesser injuries but their faces were also burnt by the acid. But Kamilat was the target so she was worse hit.
It was later discovered that the man who bathed Kamilat with acid was someone who had been bothering the young girl for over 4 years. He had been giving her a hard time but she didn't tell the family for fear that something would happen to them. He was always saying he would use a gun on them.
Kamilat is now lying in hospital disfigured beyond recognition.
Her skin is red raw, her eyelids have almost been entirely destroyed and her hairline has been burnt back.
All this is for what? The guy who did this to this young girl was aiming for...? I don't understand the cruelty of the human mind. How anyone can plot such a barbaric act against another fellow human is beyond my understanding. No matter what the offence, no matter the provocation, this is just not the way to go about life. I don't know who this guy is, but God does and I know his punishment is waiting for him. He will get what he deserves!

NIGERIAN TEEN AMONG 27 EXTRA-ORDINARY YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.
On Tuesday March 27th 2007, Nestle USA proudly announced that the year-long search for America's most-extraordinary young people had culminated in the recognition of 27 Nestle Very Best In Youth. From nearly 1, 000 nominations, only 27 youths were selected, with significant achievements in both academics andcommunity service, these remarkable youth have proven that kids, too, can make a difference in the world.
Honoring young people between the ages of 10 and 18, the Nestle Very Best In Youth award program pays tribute to those who are committed to academic excellence and devoted to leading a generation of positive changewithin their communities. With the belief that you are never too young to realize your dreams, these award winners have set the standard forexcellence.
Among the 27 youths, is Nigerian-born Folake Dosu, age 17, who lives in Bellwood, IL, USA. She is the founder of The Birthday Party Project, which organizes monthly surprise parties for Chicago-area children dealing with physical and/or emotional trauma.
Remember my favourite quote? 'You don't have to be a phenomenon to do phenomenal things, all you have to be is someone who cares and wants to make a difference'
Folake Dosu is an example of that. It's one thing to do something, it's another thing to be recognised for that thing. For being recognised, I say kudos to her.

MBGN 2007
I'd like to reserve my comment about the pageant I witnessed yesterday but I'd like to know what you think about the contestants of this year's pageant and what you think about our new queen. How far do you guys think she will go in the 'Miss World' Pageant? Hmmm...top 100, 90, 80? Just kidding. Send me your thoughts.Posted by Linda Ikeji at 8:20 PM 7 comments
MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN NIGERIA 2007 PAGEANT
The 20th edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Pageant has come and gone. Thankfully I saw it live and like I promised earlier, I will give you all a blow-by-blow account of how it all went. My aim is to make you feel like you were actually there. Hope I do a good job of it.
Before I say anything about the pageant, I'd like to give kudos to the organisers, Silverbird entertainment. The show was slated for 8 o'clock and it started promptly at 8:01 pm. It made me proud to be Nigerian. And the place was filled to capacity by 7:45pm. I guess everyone now knows that Silverbird don't wait for no one.
Anyway to the koko of the matter lol. This is exactly how it happened.
8:03pm: Musician Ara came out with her band members, performed for just a minute and all 30 girls joined her on stage with their traditional costume. They danced for about 5 minutes with Ara and her people beating on their drums. Soon after, Ara left the stage leaving only the contestants who then introduced themselves individually to the audience. I must say here that the mic was just not working right so the girls were barely audible.
After their individual introduction, the MC for the night, Wild Child of Rhythm 93.7 was introduced by the voice over MC, American-born choreographer, Juliet Haggermann.
After that, all contestants were shown on the big screen at the venue. They were basically showing us all the fun they had in camp. It was called 'Fun tape'
Then Wild Child came out again to appreciate the sponsors of the event.
Here are a list of the sponsors.
1. Eko Hotel - Free accomodation for all contestants and the use of the Expo Hall
2. Lufthanza Airline - Free flights for all the winners going to represent Nigeria in International Pageants.
3. Motorola - Phones for all the contestant
4. Lacasera - 1 million naira for Sera (You will find out about that later)
5. Skoda Fabia - A brand new Skoda Fabia car for the winner
6. Macleans
7. NB Plc
8. Zenith Bank
9. Amigos - Hair for all the contestants
10. I-Cell
After that appreciation, Wild child told us that for the very first time, we were about to see a modelling competition in the MBGN Pageant. At 8:25, all the contestants came out in similar outfits to catwalk and vie for 'Silverbird Top Model'. They came out in groups.
The first group to come out consisted of Miss Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Abuja, Anambra, Bayelsa and Adamawa. The next group were, Miss Cross River, Delta, Edo, Ebonyi, enugu and Ekiti. Followed by Miss Imo, Benue, Gombe, Lagos, Kwara, Nasarawa. The last group was Miss Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Rivers, Plateau and Miss Niger.
Afterwards at 8:35, five girls with wierd looking hairstyles and colour came on stage to dance to Omarion's 'Oh'. We later found out it was the 'Amigos hair display'. If you ask me, it was unnecessary. Didn't like that bit at all.
To the best part of the evening. Swimwear contest. This was at Exactly 8:40pm. The girls were sizzling hot in their swimwear. They got the right colour and style. really nice! The highlight of the swimwear display was when Miss Akwa-Ibom couldn't get unwrap her shawl from her waist. She just stood infront of us, working the scarf really hard. The audience had no choice but to laugh in encourage. She did manage to loosen the wrap. Then Miss Anambra gave a pose on stage that will give top models a run for their money. The 'yansh' display was so interesting to watch. Some girls tried too hard, some girls didn't try enough. And I must say at this point that I'd still not noticed 'the winner' of the pageant. She didn't stand out until later.
After the swimwear was the second performance of the night by a new female artist called Timi. Anybody know her? Never heard of her. Anyway, she came out with two dancers in hot pants and performed.
After Timi's performance, contestants came out again in lovely casual Ankara outfits to dance to Jazzman's 'Shake something'. They really shook something.
After the dance, Wild Child thanked the judges for finding time to come, and introduced them. The judges were:
1. Italian, Adriano Bareno
2. Actress, Stella Damasus Aboderin
3. Prince Segun Oniru
4. Socialite, Mina Ogunkugbe and two other white judges whose names I didn't get...sorry.
Next was the introduction of a Saxophonist who blew to Shakira's 'Hips Don't Lie' and P.Square's 'Busy Body'. He was phenomenal with the sax. The audience couldn't get enough. Someone threw his name but I didn't catch it lol.
After that, a beautiful girl...no, I'll say a pretty girl because after singing for 5 minutes and no one hearing anything she'd sang, she became a little unattractive to many of us. Maybe it wsan't her fault. The sound yesterday was just not the best I've heard. Her dress was gorgeous though. Just didn't hear what she was singing about.
Then came the girls in their evening wear. This was about 9:20. They actually came out awkwardly. Some girls were standing at the back and couldn't be seen by the audience. Juliet Haggermann had to ask them to make space for other girls. Anyway, their evening wear was gorgeous. It made up for what some of them lacked in looks.lol
Then Wild Child asked the CEO of NB Plc to join him on stage to present awards to the contestants. The CEO was represented by someone from the company.
Here are the winners of the awards
Miss Photogenic - Miss Cross River
Miss Congeniality - Miss Abuja
Best Traditional Costume - Miss Lagos
Then came the 'Search for Sera' sponsored by Lacasera. Their criteria for picking a winner in this category was a girl with virtue, insight, and love for her country. The MD of Lady Cobler, Tosin Dekalu represented the MD of Lacasera in presenting the award.
The winner was Miss Akwa-Ibom, who got a whopping one millionaire naira cash prize.
Next was the cut-down to 10 semi-finalists. Guy Murray-Bruce brought the list to the MC.
Here are the top ten semi-finalists the way they were called out.
Miss ogun
Miss Abia
Miss Ebonyi
Miss Imo
Miss Lagos
Miss Enugu
Miss Cross River
Miss Bayelsa
Miss Plateau
Miss Edo
Here are their pics
Miss Ogun
Miss Abia
Miss Ebonyi
Miss Imo
Miss Lagos
Miss Enugu
Miss Cross River
Miss Bayelsa
Miss Plateau
Miss Edo
After calling the top ten girls, all contestants left the stage and the top ten semi-finalists came back on stage one by one so we can see them clearly, individually. Miss Cross River's zipper was bad so we all saw her panties. The guys had fun with that. Miss Ogun tripped. The first trip of the night. 'Twas nice to see. While all this was going on, the girls were shown on screen as they introduced themselves.
After that, was 4/5 minutes of advert from the sponsors shown on the big screen, while Nelly's 'Promiscuous' was played.
All semi-finalists were then called back on stage where 5 finalists were announced.
Here are the 5 finalists the way they were called out.
Miss Edo
Miss Ogun
Miss Imo
Miss Plateau
Miss Bayelsa
Here they are
Miss Ogun
Miss Edo
Miss Plateau
Miss Bayelsa
Miss Imo
After this was the questions and answers segment
Question to Miss Bayelsa
'Why did you enter for MBGN?'
'I want to represent my country...'. The crowd started clapping, which made it hard to hear everything she said
Question to Miss Edo
'If you became MBGN, how would you encourage others to contests in pageants like this?'
Didn't hear her reply
Question to Miss Imo
'What are some qualities that a beauty queen should have?'
Answer 'A beauty queen should be intelligent, humble, beautiful, a christian...'. The crowd erupted in cheers...didn't hear what else she said.
Question to Miss Ogun
'Name one Nigerian role model and why?'
Answer 'Agbani Darego, because she has prooved that Nigerian women are beautiful'
Question to Miss Plateau
'If you can change anything about Nigeria, what would it be?' The crowd was shouting 'Nepa, Nepa' But she said something about helping children.
After the girls left the stage, a Rock Guitarist came on stage to perform MBGN's Theme song called 'The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria'
After him, was Faze who turned the whole room crazy with his 'kolo mental' song. He was dressed in yellow jacket, white shirt, dark blue jeans, wine coloured tie and a black and white stripped cowboy hat. He looked really mental.
After that, MBGN 2006, Abiola Bashorun came out to take her final walk. Her dress which was designed by MoMo Couture was just not 'it'.
Then the time everyone had been waiting for. At about 10:27pm, President Silverbird Entertainment, Mr Guy Murray-Bruce came on stage to announce the winners.
Here they are:
4th Runner-up, MBGN Model - Miss Ogun
3rd Runner-up, Miss Ecowas - Miss Edo
2nd Runner-up, Miss Tourism International - Miss Plateau
1st Runner-up, Miss Universe - Miss Bayelsa

MBGN 2007.
Just got back from the Most Beautiful girl in Nigeria Pageant which held at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel. It ended at about 10:35 pm and I had to go get something to eat. I had such a busy day today that I just forgot to eat. I'm always doing that and I know it's not good for my health. God help me.
Anyway, tomorrow, I'll give you a blow by blow account of the event. I'm too tired right now, I can't even think.
Just a sneak pick. The new Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeris is 19 year old, 5 '7' tall, undergraduate, Miss Munachi Nwankwo, who represented Imo State. She was the prettiest, she had the best evening wear, best smile, everyone's favourite...but the shortest.
I'll give you all the gists tomorrow. Goodnight y'all.

ENTERTAINMENT GISTS

Blunt and Nemcova
Lindsay Lohan
After months and months of breakup rumors, musician James Blunt, 32, and model Petra Nemcova, 27, have officially ended their two year relationship. Blunt is definitely enjoying the single life. And he has already rebounded...with Lindsay Lohan! A pal says they “hooked up” in L.A. March 21.
Lindsay is having all the hot guys. Lucky her!
DIDDY, SNOPP CANCEL US TOUR
Diddy and Snoop have cancelled their UK tour because the UK denied Snoop, who was arrested three times in 2006, a visa to enter the country. With late notice of Snoop being denied a visa, time has ran out and it is too late to reconfigure the show. They really did not want to let fans down this way as the UK was a planned highlight of the tour. However, this ultimately was a situation out of their control.

The heir apparent to the British Monarchy, handsome Prince William was recently photograhed with some Brazilian fans who asked for a pic. William graciously agreed, only for him to feel the girl's breastises. And the girl doesn't seem to mind. If you were her would you mind? I hope Kate Middleton doesn't see this picture o!lol

The much talked about fashion event of the year 'Stars on the Runway' has been postponed till July 2007. It was originally slated to take place on Saturday March 24th 2007, but after careful consideration and due to financial constraints, the planning committee postponed the event till July, but no particular date has been given.
This event was previously booked for February, then postponed to March and now July. I guess they are trying to stage the mother of all shows. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

ENTERTAINMENT GISTS!
The couple came to the decision during a court hearing in their native Michigan after Eminem filed a motion on Friday March 23rd to slience Kim.
This came after she’d made numerous salacious comments about the rap star. Kim had told one TV interviewer that she’d been driven so far as to attempt suicide by Eminem. Hmmm, something tells me this couple will get back together.

Elton John turned sixty this past weekend.

Basketball Legend Shaqueil O'neal turned 35 this weekend. 35? Wow, I thought he was older. I've been hearing that name since I was a little girl. Anyway, his wife Shaunie O'Neal hosted him at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood.
VIVICA'S BAD NEWS

Remember I told y'all that Vivica Fox was arrested last week on DUI charges? She's out of that problem but girlfriend just got another bad news. Now Cadillac/GM pulled her endorsement deal just today Monday March 26th, that paid the beautiful actress and publisher $1 million a year for 3 years. This must not be a good time for her.
TONY PARKER NOW A RAPPER

Eva Longoria's boyfriend, basketball player Tony Parker, wants to add 'rapper' to his resume. He's already gone to the studio, recorded a song and his Desperate Housewives girlfriend has agreed to star in themusic video, for the French song Balance Troi. Can't wait to see that.

I was going to post the uncensored version of this picture but decided not to for some of you who might find it offensive.
This lady here is Katie Price, famously known as Jordan. She's a model, playmate, mother of two and wife of Peter Andre, the guy who made the popular song 'Mysterious Girls'
Hmmm...nice!

ANGER!
WHAT IS ANGER?
Anger can vary widely (from mild irritation to intense fury) and can be sparked by a variety of things (specific people, events, memories, or personal problems). Anger is a natural and potentially productive emotion. However, anger can get out of control and become destructive and problematic.
WHY DO WE GET ANGRY?
People get angry when their expectations are not met...whether those expectations are about the future, about themselves, or about others. When our expectations are unmet, we revert to illusions of control, "unrealistically expecting all people to behave and all situations to turn out as we think they should." Anger over these unmet expectations often leads us to blame others and shift aggression towards them.
There are several sources of anger: physiological, cognitive, and behavioral.
Physiological anger is natural anger. In certain threatening situations, for instance when we are attacked physically, our bodies respond by making us physically angry.
Cognitive sources of anger are based on how we perceive things. These perceptions may be accurate...a situation may, indeed, be threatening, or they may not be. Sometimes we will perceive a threat, even though the external situation is not actually as dangerous as we think it is. In other words, there may be no real reason for anger, but our personal biases and emotions take over, leading to aggression.
Finally, behavioral sources of anger come from the environment we create for ourselves. Chronically angry people create an atmosphere in which others are aggressive in return, creating a cycle of anger.
Anger is a natural response to certain threats. As a result, aggression is sometimes the appropriate response to anger, as it allows us to defend ourselves. Therefore, a certain amount of anger is necessary. In addition, anger can be useful in expressing how we feel to others. However, we cannot get angry with everyone and everything we encounter. As a result, we must learn to express our anger appropriately.
There are three main approaches to expressing anger...expression, suppression, and calming.
Expression involves conveying your feelings in an assertive, but not aggressive, manner. This is the best way to handle your anger. However, you must make sure that you are respectful of others and are not being overly demanding or pushy, as this will likely only produce aggression in return.
Anger can also be repressed and redirected. Essentially, you want to stop thinking about the source of your anger and focus on something else that can be approached constructively. However, you must be careful when repressing angry feelings. Repressing anger with no constructive outlet can be dangerous and damaging, both physically and mentally. On the other hand, the old idea that you should simply "vent" or "let it all out" is discouraged by conflict experts, who claim that doing so is actually counterproductive, "an exercise in rehearsing the very attributions that arouse anger in the first place."
Finally, one can respond to anger by focusing on calming down -- controlling your external and internal responses (heart rate, blood pressure, etc.) to anger. Take deep breaths and relax.
Dealing with Anger.
As discussed, anger is not necessarily bad. Anger becomes problematic when it is expressed in improper or damaging ways. However, there are many things that can be done to help promote the constructive use of angry feelings.
The first step in dealing with anger is to become aware of it. Learn how anger affects you, how you deal with it, and what triggers it in you. There are many ways to handle anger once you learn to recognize it and catch it early on.
The American Psychological Association suggests the following:
Relaxation: As simple as it sounds, basic relaxation exercises can be powerful tools in overcoming one's anger. Among these simple techniques are deep breathing; slowly repeating a relaxing phrase, such as "relax" or "take it easy"; using peaceful imagery to imagine a relaxing situation; and relaxing exercise, like yoga or tai-chi.
Cognitive Restructuring: Cognitive restructuring is basically changing the way you think about things. This involves thinking more positively about a situation; avoiding terms like "always" and "never," which can be used to justify your anger; using logic on yourself to prevent irrational behavior; and learning to change your approach...requesting rather than demanding, for example.
Problem Solving: Not all anger is inappropriate. When there is a very real root to your anger, approaching the situation from the perspective of a problem solver can help to diffuse your strong feelings. Make a plan for how you can fix the situation and approach it with good intentions.
Better Communication: Angry people tend to jump to conclusions and overreact. By slowing down and thinking about what you say, this problem can be avoided. Also, make sure you understand what other people are saying before responding to them. Listen to the reasons for others' anger and try not to be overly critical. Listening is as important to communication as speaking is.
Using Humor. By refusing to take yourself too seriously, you can defuse your anger. Try using humorous imagery to lighten your mood or to make fun of yourself. However, you should avoid using sarcastic and harsh humor, which is simply another expression of anger. You should also avoid simply "laughing off" your problems, which ignores the issue at hand. Instead use humor to approach the problem more constructively.
Change Your Environment: Oftentimes our environment contributes to our anger by causing irritation and fury. Make a point to take a break. Schedule personal time. When stress becomes too intense, simply get away for 15 minutes to regroup and refresh.
I hope this was useful to some people.

PLANE 'SHOT DOWN' IN SOMALI

I don't know how many of you read about the cargo plane carrying 11 people that was shot down after taking off from the main airport in the Somali capital Mogadishu, on Friday March 23rd.
It crashed in the city's northern suburbs. Eyewitnesses said the plane plunged to the ground in flames.
"Three rockets were fired at the plane and one hit the plane," Somali government spokesman Hussein Mohamed Muhamoud told the press.
The cargo plane, a Russian-made Ilyushin-76 was said to be carrying engineers to Somalia. The crew were nationals of Russia. Everyone aboard died.
This is not how we should treat each other. It's sad.
By the way, Somalia has not had an effective national government since 1991. That's also sad!

FASHION NO NO'S

Is there something wrong with a white top, blue jeans and a red belt, or is it just me? What do you think?
There's just something wrong with this combination. The belt is unneccessary, the colour doesn't match the top or the skirt. She should have gone for either a green, white or yellow top. That would have brought out the beauty of the skirt.
I'm thinking that belt is unneccessary too. It's making her breasts look too big and the tights are making her thighs look too fat.
Too skimpy. A skirt as tight and as short as that should be worn on a loose top. And a spagetti top that tight should be worn on a pair of jeans or a longer skirt. And the colour combination is too dull.
The hair on the girl at the extreme right is a no no no no!lai lai. lol. It's too full, too rough, wrong colour for her skin colour and wrong style for the shape of her face.
This is so inappropriate for a red carpet event. It's too casual. Maybe for a lecture in school.
For Sasha, the top is nice, but whatever she has underneat just ain't doing justice to the top. It's not the right colour, it's too short. It's basically lost underneath the blouse. It's not werking fer me gelfriend.lol
I'm thinking the pants are too tight. If she was standing straight, we'd probably visibly see her groin area. From the back, we'd probably see her pant lines. The pants or leggings she is wearing is making her thighs look bigger than they really are.
The clothes are too tight for their frame. They should go for more loose outfits that does over-emphasisies their body volume.
The colour combination is all wrong. White, Pink and black all at once? Fashion don'ts!
That bag should only be taken to school/lectures and not on a night out!
Well, there you have it. Some dress sence that are just a no no no no in my book. I'm not an expert o, it's just my opinion. Maybe there were some things I got wrong? Like I said before I'm not an expert so send me your thoughts.

BASKETMOUTH'S UNCENSORED
Basket with Ronke Apkampa
Bright Okpocha, popularly known as BasketMouth will on Sunday 1st of April 2007 host the second edition of his comedy show 'Basket mouth Uncensored'. According to what I'm hearing, Presidential aspirant, Professor Pat Utomi will co-host the show. That will be nice! But we heard the same story at AY Live, where we were told that another Presidential aspirant, Rev Chris Okotie will Co-Mc the show...he didn't show. I hope it won't happen in Basket's case. I would really love to see the funny side of this politicians. Anyway, let's keep our fingers crossed.
Meanwhile the show will attract the highest fee ever charged for a comedy show. A whopping N5, 000. Something tells me the show will be worth the money.
Tuface, Face, Soul E, P.Square are among those expected to perform.
OPEYEMI AIYEOLA GETS MARRIED!

ANNA NICOLE SMITH DIED OF DRUG OVERDOSE
Anna Nicole Smith died of an accidental drug overdose with traces of nine prescription drugs in her blood, including anti-depressants and sedatives, Florida officials said yesterday Monday March 26th. She wasn't sick prior to the overdose. Well, now we officially know what killed the former Playmate.
May she rest in peace and may her daughter find her real father.
NOLLYWOOD ACTOR ARRESTED WITH COCAINE.
How many of you have heard that another Nigerian actor has been arrested again for cocaine possession? Well, it happened on Friday March 23rd 2007 at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja while allegedly trying to ferry some kilograms of cocaine into the UK. He was about to board a Virgin Atlantic flight when he was arrested. He excreted the exhibit in his stomach till 9pm at night after which he was detained at the NDLEA cell at the airport and was later transferred to Ikoyi prison where he is expected to face trial.
The actor's name is Uche Oduputa, anyone know him? He appeared in movies like 'Betrayal', 'All For Winnie'.
Couldn't find his picture anywhere but he's quite a known face here in Nigeria.
The Actor's Guild aren't finding the situation funny because airport officials have told them that all actors going through the airport will be thoroughly searched before being allowed to pass. No more celebrity treatment.
A few actors have been caught in the past carrying cocaine to other countries. I'm happy he was caught here and not in a foreign country, Imagine what that will do to our country's already tarnished image. I hope nothing like this happens again.

TO ANONYMOUS!
I've heard all you have to say. I allowed you some days to vent your anger. I have tried abi? There's nothing I like more than being given the opportunity to say what I'm feeling and giving others that same opportunity. So, yes I've heard you. So sorry I've turned your life into a nightmare, I wish there was something I could do for you other than pray for you, which I will.
I was going to leave all your comments, because I have nothing to be ashamed of and absolutely nothing to hide. I've lived my life the best way I know how and I know God, my family and friends are extremely happy with the woman that I am.
But for the sake of other readers of this blog, I've decided to delete your comments. We all need positive energy and not all the negativity coming from you. With all the sad things happening around the world, who needs more? We escape to blogs to get informed and entertained, not to be reminded of sad things, it doesn't help the soul and mind.
Also I've enabled comment moderation, so anything you have to say to me will come directly to me and noone else has to be saddled with all that negativity. Therefore, I'll suggest you use my personal email address when next you need to pass a message across to me.
From the bottom of my heart I feel deeply sorry for you. That's one of the reason I didn't bother to reply you. I wish I could reach out a hand of friendship to you. It's so sad to see someone with so much venom going through her veins. So much anger, hurt, pain, bitterness, misery, depression, sadness, anguish, and torture. Whoever you are, I hope God helps and cures you of all that pain. No one deserves to be going through all that all at once. So sorry I had a hand in it.
Like I said before, anything you have to say to me, use my personal email address, it's at the top of my blog. Hope to hear from you soon. Maybe I'll give you my office address so you can vent your anger right in my face. Maybe that will help?
Please take good care of yourself and buy a copy of my magazine when it comes out next week. You'll love the mag.
By the way, Dan says hi!

SNOOP DOGG DENIED UK VISA

The UK leg of an international hip-hop tour is in doubt after rapper Snoop Dogg was denied a visa to enter Britain.
Snoop is currently co-headlining a European tour with fellow American rapper P Diddy and had been due to play five UK dates.
The star - whose real name is Calvin Broadus - accepted a police caution after being arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and affray at Heathrow Airport in April last year.
"He has asked how he can help rectify the situation and would happily talk to and give assurances to the officials."
A planned concert at Wembley Arena on Tuesday will go ahead whatever the outcome, the spokesman added.
So celebrities can be denied visas? Nice!lol

BERNIE MAC TO QUIT STAND UP COMEDY.

Bernie Mac, one of the Original Kings of Comedy, is hanging up his microphone.
Mac said Wednesday that he intends to retire from stand-up comedy later this year after he completes a tour and shoots a concert film that he says will be titled “The Whole Truth, Nothing But The Truth, So Help Me Mac.”
“And I’m going to tell the truth, and I’m going to let these young cats have it,” Mac told reporters at a promotional event in Philadelphia for the upcoming movie “Pride,” in which he stars with Terrence Howard. “They want it, they can have it.”
Mac didn’t say why he’s walking away from an art form that helped launch his successful movie and television career. But he alluded to the struggles stand-up comics like Richard Pryor and Oscar award winner Jamie Foxx experienced when they tried to venture beyond comedic performances.
I hope he does the Michael Jordan, Jay Z style and come back to stand up comedy after his cd's have sold massively. We know their trick. Hope this one is also a trick. If it's for real, I'll sure miss him.

ONLY KNOWN JANE AUSTEN PAINTING TO GO ON SALE.

What many believe to be the only painting of Jane Austen, the writer of classics such as "Emma," "Sense and Sensibility" and "Pride and Prejudice," is going on sale. The painting will be auctioned in New York in April by Christie's Gallery, a relation of the English author and owner of the picture said.
The painting is thought to have been made in 1788 or 1789 when Austen would have been about 14.
Portrait of Jane Austen, which measures about five feet tall and three feet wide, is expected to fetch between $400,000 and $800,000 when it goes under the hammer in New York on April 19 as part of the Important Old Master Paintings sale.
I grew up on this woman's books. So nice to finally see what she looked like.

But then three weeks ago someone told me my vote is my power in having a say on who governs me. If I don't vote and the wrong person gets voted in, do I have a right to complain? No! So I decided to vote, but vote for who? Because I wasn't initially interested in voting, I didn't take any particular interest in any of the candidates vying for the Lagos State Governorship seat, so I didnt know the best candidate of the lot to vote for. To get the right person, who will do as he has promised, I came up with a list of all the candidates, did a background check on them, asked questions, read their, bios, manifestos, checked out their service and achievements in public and private sectors. I was basically looking for that man who was most qualified to Govern Lagos state, and one man stood out from the pack.
His name is Hakeem Gbajabiamila. Why did I single this guy out? I'll give you 10 reason.
10 reasons why Hakeem Gbajabiamila should be Lagos State Governor.
1. Age: He's young. He's just 47 years old. The people of Nigeria need a young responsible Governor with intergrity that they can look up to and emulate. It will be nice to have a governor that is at a decent age who will be able to understand and relate with the young generation, since the young generation are the ones who will shape the future of Nigeria. Therefore, they need a young leader that will take them there. We need someone young, with fresh ideas.
2. Family background: He's from a ruling, noble lineage. His paternal grandfather was the 3rd Bashorun of Lagos. His maternal grandfather was an Assistant Missioner and Chief Imam of renowned Islamic organisation, Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria. His grandmother was the 'Olori Omokewu and Iya Adinni of Alasalatu of Nigeria. His uncle was once a Lagos State Magistrate Judge, another uncle was a commissioner for Finance in Lagos State. Hakeem's mum is a well-known grass-root political leader of repute in Lagos State. Why is all this relevant you may wonder? The Gbajabiamila's are not new to the service of their motherland. All this shows that he's not new to the call of public duty...it runs in the family.
3. Education: He has a B. Sc in Civil Engineering from the Southern Illinois University, USA. He also has a Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Washington University, St Louis, Missouri, USA. Then he attended a specialised Chief Executive Officer programmes at Harvard University and the Lagos Business School. He was top in his class. That tells me this is a brillant guy.
4. Work experience: He's worked on special projects across the private and public sector as a professional both in the US and Nigeria. Hakeem worked as an engineer with Randle Associate, St Louis, USA. An assistant area manager for multi-national construction company Camperon Bernard Construction Company, in France.
5. Achievements: Hakeem's company Projectscope built a 10, 000 office complex for the Ondo state Government.
. Construction of various bank buildings, single and multi family luxury residential projects in Lagos.
. Construction of 32 residential units and a recreational centre for the Memphis City Park Commission, and Memphis international airport.
. Hakeem initiated the development of the 'T' series Waterfront Tourism and Recreational projects. The first of it's kind.
. Between 2001 and 2002, he organised a highly successful and acclaimed world black heritage festival in Badagry to promote a sense of homecoming to blacks in the diaspora.
. Establishment of regional foodstuffs market, the Ikoyi and Victoria Island model city plan.
. The upgrade of slum communities like Badia, Olaleye, Iponri to mention a few.
6. His Party: He's the only candidate running for Governor in Lagos who is representing the ONLY party that has won all the elections in Lagos State since 1999
7. Leadership posts: General Manager of the Lagos State Waterfront and Tourism Development Corporation.
. Commissioner for Physical planning and Urban Development.
. Chairman, reconciliatory group on the crisis within Apapa Local Government, Lagos State.
. Leader, the dynamic group of AD. And so many more.
8. Exposure: He's schooled, worked and lived in developed countries. That exposure to what is obtainable in developd societies will go a long way in directing him on how to take Lagos State to the next level. Exposure has given him experience that can be shared with the youth of Nigeria. Young Nigerians will respect and learn alot from a man who has seen it all. Exposure is key to leadership. How can you lead when you know nothing?
9. His priority areas when he becomes Governor :
Unemployment: Over 200, 000 jobs will be created annually through small and medium scale businesses, funded with bank loans. Some of us who are in dire need of bank loans will benefit tremendously from this man.
Education: To rehabilitate and upgrade educational and school infrastructures, train and retrain teachers and improve their benefits and pay packages.
Health: Pay packages for all categories of health workers, rehabilation of health infrastructures.
Youth empowerment: He intends to establish in Lagos, FOUR centres of the world famous United Nations Youth Empowerment Programme. The objective is to produce thousands of youth enterpreneurs who will make a living through small-scale agricultural, aquaculture and poultry businesses. His Government will provide 10 billion annually to run this programme
10. His philosophy: 'The mark of a complete person is the ability to do the best in every circumstance, for your immediate group, for your society, your nation and for humanity'
It is very important that before we vote for any candidate, we do a thorough research on them. I have done mine and I think Hakeem Gbajabiamila is the kind of man we need. He's young, vibrant, has good leadership qualities, experienced, dedicated, respectful, humble, compassionate and well read. What else do we want?
It's going to take energy to change this State, we need a young intelligent man with intergrity that can do the job. We all know that Lagos needs a change that will better the lives of all Lagosians and lead our young people into a brighter future.
Hakeem is that man. I'm voting for him. What about you?

DON'T EVER UNDERESTIMATE ANYONE.
Something really funny happened to me today...on a second thought, it really wasn't funny. Here's the story.
I called a girl on the phone to talk to her about a boy. She allowed me talk for about 3 minutes after which she said she hadn't heard a word I'd said. I cut the phone, waited for 5 minutes, then called again. Once again, she allowed me talk for about 5 minutes before telling me, again, that she hadn't heard a word. I cut the phone again, waited for about 15 minutes, hoping the service would have been better by then, but it was the same story I heard after talking for another 2/3 minutes. The girl then suggested that I text her everything I wanted to say and ask her, and she would reply me via text too. Well, seeing that she couldn't hear a word I was saying, and I really needed to pass a message to her, I agreed and sent her a text.
You guys know what happened next? About 15 minutes later, the subject of my discussion with the girl, called me to say he saw the text I sent to the girl. The girl had apparently forwarded the text I sent her to the guy. That was when it occured to me that the girl had been pretending not to hear the things I'd said to her, so I'd send her a text and implicate myself.
I found it funny at first, but then I realised that it actually wasn't funny. If it had been something very implicating, she would have had evidence.
Trust anyone you think deserves your trust, but please never under-estimate anyone. That person you think isn't smart enough might be the one to explain to you the meaning of S in Smart.
Be careful.

FOXY BROWN IN TROUBLE AGAIN.

I'm sure you've all heard stories of Foxy's unacceptable 'behaviour' in recent time? Assault, drunk driving etc.
Well, the ex-rapper is in another 'wahala' again. She was scheduled to appear in a Broward County (Florida) court on Thursday morning March 22nd, but she did not show.
Foxy was facing battery charges from a fracas that ensued at a local beauty shop a few months ago.
After she failed to make her appearance, the judge issued a bench warrant for her arrest.
Something tells me she will be arrested and put in jail if she ever shows face in Florida. Girlfriend better stay away. And what's this anger management issues with Foxy? She better clean up her act and do something more productive with her time...like rapping again? What do you guys think?

CITY PEOPLE ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR.

His name is Denrele Edun. And he's presenter, producer and voice over artiste. His mum is Indian and his dad is Nigerian. Alot of people do not know this. That's why he has a peculiar look, long hair and a little crazy mien.
He was on Sunday March 18th named City People Award For Excellence's Entertainer of The Year.
I'm so proud of Denrele and how much he's achieved since leaving the University in 2003. He's always wanted to be an entertainer and he went after his dream.
Denrele and I were best friends in School (Unilag). We were called the 'Crazy two' back then because we went virtually everywhere together. There he was, the 'eccentric' Indian and the 'snobbish' model. We were 'too much' for some people in School. We heard all kinds of things said to our faces and behind our backs, some boldly made fun of us, some loved us. It was fun with Denrele. I love him to bits.
Congrats boy.

NIGERIAN TEACHER KILLED OVER KORAN

I still find this news had to swallow. Some secondary school pupils in Gombe State killed their teacher after apparently accusing her of desecrating the Koran.
The teacher, a Christian, was attacked after supervising an exam in the school located in Gombe city.
Nigerian police say students beat the teacher to death outside the school compound after she had been invigilating an exam.
The students had apparently accused her of desecrating the Koran, though it is not clear exactly what she had done.
The police arrived at the scene to restore calm and say their intervention stopped a riot.
The authorities, concerned that communal unrest could break out, have ordered all the city's schools to shut.
What is the world turning into? I'm speechless

HOW TO KEEP YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT HEALTHY AND POSITIVE.
If you keep your mind and spirit healthy and positive, you are bound to live a happier, healthier and longer life. Have you ever been stressed, depressed, angry or sad and then all of a sudden get sick? You think that is a coincidence? Last year when I was a little depressed, I noticed THREE major things that happened to me. 1. I lost a lot of weight. 2. My skin colour became darker and 3. I had no motivation to do anything to improve my life. I just went from day to day mopping.
I take interest in a lot of things, especially if it affects me or someone I know directly. So I've been doing alot of research on how to keep your mind positive and healthy. One thing I have learnt from extensive reading is that our thoughts are totally interconnected to our bodies and our emotions have a huge impact on our physical well-being. That is why it is extremely important that we keep ourselves emotionally healthy.
Here are some tips on how to get a better grip on the power of your mind so that you can make sure that the rest of you remains happy and healthy.
1. Be confident: It's important that you know your strenght and weakness and accept them and do your best with what you have. Always remember that you have a talent and finding out what it is, is a key to a happier you.
2. Learn to express your emotions in a positive way and healthy manner. If you are angry, don't go around throwing things. If you are sad, don't go getting suicidal. Try find out what is making you feel that way and do something positive about it. No fist fights, tantrums or dramatic actions, peaceful resolutions are essential here.
3. Get to know yourself and love who you are. If you love who you are, you are bound to be more emotionally stable. This will go a long way in improving your life.
4. Exercise your mind. Just like your body, your mind needs exercise too. It is essential that you keep your mind as toned as your body.
How do you exercise your mind?
a. Read. Reading is a fantastic way to strenghten your mind muscle. Not only are you using your brain during the whole process, you are also learning new things at the same time.
b. Do things that stretch your mind, like watching educational shows, play games, do crossword puzzles, take part in quizzes. Blog frequently. It really helps.lol
c. Expand your memory. When you are in a car or walking, try to remember road signs, licence plates, car colours etc. Or get hold of a dictionary and try to memorise at least three new words and their meaning everyday.
5. Nurture relationships with family and friends. They are an important part of our emotional well-being. Think of how much better you will feel when you share your experiences with someone you care about.
6. Yoga is a fantastic way to make sure you stay balanced and energised. It is a programme that incorporates physical exercises along with breathing and relaxation techniques to help exercise the mind and body.
All in all, try and be happy always. Don't give anything or anyone the power to make you sad, depressed, angry or miserable. Think positive

SENATE COMMITTEE PROBING OBASANJO / ATIKU RESIGN.
Senator Umar Tsauri, chairman of the committee, told reporters that they had met "repeated roadblocks" in trying to present the report to the Senate and felt its release before the elections was being prevented. "We pleaded with the leadership of the Senate to allow us to present our report but they said no and we just felt it was better to resign because it'd be a blow to our integrity, " he said. "Our integrity was at stake. We resigned because we are principled people."
You guys all know the story. EFCC accused VP Atiku of diverting money belonging to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), which he denied and is presently in court challenging his exclusion from the presidential election
The Senate is currently debating the sudden resignation of the committee members behind closed doors.
Naija la wa. Anything can happen.

DAKOVA ARRESTED FOR MURDER AND CONSPIRACY.

Dakova and Agbani Darego
When I heard about this incident, I was really disturbed. How many of heard that one of Nigeria's most talented designers, David Kolawole Vaughn popularly called Dakova was arrested for murder and conspiracy some months back? His arrest was in connection with the bizarre and gruesome murder of PDP Governorship aspirant, Engr Funsho Williams. Can you guys believe that?
Before his arrest, Dakova was vieing for the Chairmanship of Lagos Mainland under the unbrella of the PDP.
Dakova said he was arrested because the police got information that he was involved in Funsho's untimely death. When asked why his name came up at all, he said he became the special implementation assistant to another PDP Governorship aspirant, Chief Ogunlewe, who he parted ways with over issues of money. He said his arrest had to do with an incident where Ogunlewe had instructed him to take some thugs with him and disrupt Funsho's meeting. An instruction he claims he never caaried out.
After his arrest, Dakova was taken from Lagos to Abuja where he was questioned by the IG of police. He was detianed in Wuse 3, Zone 7 for 12 days. He said he slept on bare floor with no shoes on the whole time.
He also said he was shocked that anybody could link him to the death of Late Williams, adding that it was a conspiracy of those who hated him and wanted to smear his name, and that such vindictive acts would not be able to discourage him from pursuing his set goals.
Dakova was release last week from detention and he said the best part of loosing his freedom and having so much time on his hands was that he was able to come up with 283 outfits which he's called 'Bondage'. He's releasing the clothes into the market soon and doing a fashion show.
Can't wait to see what Dakova came up with in prison. What do you guys think about this? Send me your thoughts

NAOMI CAMPBELL TO CLEAN FLOORS...HILARIOUS!

When I heard this news I laughed my heads off...God forgive me. But really, Naomi to mop floors? From walking the runways from Paris to New York to Milan, now she will walk and "clean" the floors of a dingy department of sanitation warehouse in New York. The catwalk queen and one of my role models will be getting down on her knees, you know, scrubbing. Heavenly! That will a sight to behold.
Fortunately for her, the judge in this case gave in to Campbell's request that she carry out her community service indoors, so the public won't be seeing the supermodel justice to her community...oh she's British right?lol...Cleaning floors for Americans...I can imagine her anger at this...but it's better than serving time in prison, No?
Naomi received the punishment after being found guilty of throwing a phone at her maid.
Naomi, who has been advised to wear an orange vest and workman's boots, began her sentence yesterday March 19. She will complete 5 days court-ordered community service at the manhattan garage for trah trucks
Naomi, 36, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour assault in January, after being arrested for hurling her crystal-encrusted phone at Ana Scolavino last March. The incident left Ana needing four stitches to the head.
I hope she learns her lesson from this and never ever hit another maid again. If she's found guilty again, I'll go to the US and beg the courts to send Naomi to Nigeria to help us 'keep Lagos clean' lol.

BETTY IRABOR @ 50

Beautiful, talented and hardworking wife of Ace broadcaster Sunny Irabor, Betty Irabor has just turned 50. I can't believe she's 5o, I would have sworn she was in her early forties. The publisher of one of Nigeria's most loved lifestyle Magazines, Genevieve Magazine, is having a birthday party to celebrate the milestone on Saturday March 24th 2007. Only a few family members and friends are invited to the party...sorry people!
Genevieve Magazine
In an interview she granted recently, she said she was most thankful for her husband, children, Genevieve Magazine and for all the blessings she's received in her very eventful life. Her only regret being that she started Genevieve Mag in her 4o's, wishing she had started earlier than that. This statement from her was a sought of inspiration to me because I had the vision to start a magazine in my 20's. I just pray God gives me the strenght to continue to strive like she's done over the years. It's not easy running a magazine. Kudo's and many happy returns to her.

KOLAWOLE OLAWUYI BURIED.
Ace broadcaster and Nnkan Nbe producer/presenter, Kolawole Olawuyi, who died after a brief illness on the 2nd of March 2007, was buried amidst tears on Friday March 16th at the Victoria Court Cemetary, Ajah, Lagos. The funeral service was held at the Redeemed Christian Churchof God, Resurrection Parish, Lekki.
Kolawole was just 44 years old when he died.
There are some people who you just can't imagine dying or dead, Kolawole was one of such people for me. He had this larger than life image that made him seem untouchable. How many of you are conversant with his controversial yoruba TV programme Nnkan Nbe? He was using this programme to expose evil doers, diabolical people, fake men of God, liars, murderers, you name it. Anything evil, mysterious and strange was shown on his programme. A few times he told his viewers that he was getting threats from people he exposed but knew God was bigger than anything and anyone else.
Member's of his family have insisted that his death was natural and not what rumours have been carrying about him being struck down at his prime by people bitter about his interferance in their lives. I believe his family. No other human has the power to take another's life. Won po to.
He was a visionary, hardworking, dedicated and passionate about life, his work and other people's plight. He was a great man.
Kolawole is survived by his aged parents, wife and four kids.
May his oul rest in perfect peace.

I wasn't at the wedding so I can't say what went on there but I did see pictures from the wedding and I can tell you Tunde married a real beauty. Very tall and lithe. They made such a beautiful couple.
Happy married life to both of them.
By the way, how many of you know that Tunde is President Obasanjo's stepson? Yes..he is. He married Tunde's mum. OBJ was at the wedding.

AY'S COMEDY SHOW AT MUSON.
AY LIVE @ MUSON
I told you guys there were three shows happening this weekend but I could only attend one of them. There was the City People Award for Excellence, which took place at Alli Baba's XQZ MOI yesterday March 18th. Then there was the HipHop World Awards that took place at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos on Saturday March 17th, lastly there was the AY Comedy Show also at Muson Centre, yesterday March 18th. That was the one I attended, so I' m going to give you gist from that show and later I'll find out what happened at the other shows and let you guys know.
Who is AY?
That was the question I asked myself when I heard about the event. Before then, I'd never come across the guy or the name. He's a relatively new comedian in the Nigerian comedy scene. Yesterday I found out that AY is the winner of the 2006 National Comedy Challenge...didn't know there was any such thing. I need to start paying more attention to things going on in my country right?
Gate fee for the show
N2, 000 regular
N5, 000 VIP
MC's for the night
Stella Damasus Aboderin
Kate Henshaw-Nuttal
Frank Edoho
Comedians who performed
Alli Baba
Princess
koffi
All Open Mic Night winners (will explain this later)
Jedi
Elenu
Emeka Law
A few more performed but I don't remember their names. They were all new comedians.
Artists that performed
Tuface Idibia
Sammy Okposo
Rugged Man
Spyda Man
Cyprus 'Da Virus
Joker Man
Nigga Raw
D'Banj and PSquare were also scheduled to perform but I left before that happened. Half the quests left before they came on stage, that's if they did at all.
AY Idol
I think the best part of the whole show was a drama sketch mimicking West African Idol Competition. Guess who the judges were? TV Personality, Frank Edoho played Dede's role, Actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde played Nana's role and Comedian, Jedi played Dan Foster's role. It was hilarious, especially the way Omotola perfectly mimicked Nana's 'wassup?' and 'it didn't werk for me'. People laughed their hearts out. The contestants were hilariorious, their singing sucked but they thought they were R.Kelly or something. They were even fighting the judges. If a judge said something they didn't like, the judge got a 'rundown' from the contestant. Dede's character, Frank Edoho even got 'beat up' by one of the contestants played by AY himself. It was beautiful to watch. We all couldn't stop laughing. Even Jedi did a little Justice to Dan foster's character. All in all, nice concept, nicely put together.
Too much hailing
The only thing I found uncomfortable about the show was the name callings and recognition of guests. Most comedians, musicians, the MC's recognised a friend or a celebrity at the event. The worst of it was Cool Fm and West African Idol judge Dan foster. Everybody who came on stage had a thing or two to say to him or about him. Stella Damasus said he was the nicest judge on WA Idol, which everybody agreed to with cat calls, claps and shouting his name. He was even the subject of four comedian's joke. And everytime someone mentioned Dan's name, camera's came rolling, taking pictures and recording him. And guess what people? I sat right beside this man so you can imagine how many times my pictures got taken and how many times my face showed on the big screen in the hall. After a while it got uncomfotable. I'm used to being recognised but not as somebody's date. It was annoying.lol
Celebrities in the house
There were so many celebrities in the house i.e
Sunny Neji
Segun Arinze
kingsley Ogoro
Mike Aremu
Basket Mouth
Marian Anazodo
Charles Anazodo
Alariwo
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde
Cecil Hammond
Girls Girls Girls
There were girls everywhere. And you guys should have seen what they wore. Beautiful, sexy, classy. It was like there was a beauty pageant going on. Some girls came with dates, alot of them came by themselves and I saw some who came in groups of 3, 4, 5, 6. Guys had a lot to feast their eyes on. It made the event more enjoyable for them I guess.lol
Refreshments
I thought those at the VIP section would at least get some refreshments, they paid five grand each for goodness sake. But there was no such thing, instead the management of Muson Centre were selling a glass of Chapman for N500 and a plate of food for N1, 000. A few people who had no choice had to buy 'cos the show went on forever
What I didn't like
The time scheduled for this show was 6pm, with the Red Carpet event sponsored by Sound City, starting at 5pm. I got there at 6: 45 and true to their 'no African time', the show was underway. But the musicians they brought on stage up until Tuface appeared, almost messed things up for the guests. They were unknown to all of us but worst still, there songs sucked. People were so bored, it was painful to see. Some comedians came to lighten the place up, others came to make it worse. I personally think that in a show of this calibre, only a few new or up-coming artists should be allowed to perform. Yesterday, there were just too many of them. And they all performed one after the other, keeping the real popular artistes for later, by then people who had to go work the following day had left, so were weren't priviledged to watch PSquare or D' banj perform. I think they should have mixed the Acts up, instead of leaving the best for last...for empty seats.
Gossip
I usually don't like to gossip...I mean I usually like to gossip, especially if I see and ear am with my own two koro koro eyes and ears. So I go talk wetin I hear and see.
Princess, Nigeria's hottest female comedian, announced, while performing on stage, that she has just bought a new Jeep. Imagine! So happy for my girl. Before the Jeep, she was driving a 'Jalopi' car, people laughed at her for, but now my girl is driving a Jeep. You heard it here first.lol
Mike Aremu told my companion that his Saxophone had been stolen right inside the Muson center. What he didn't say was whether it was in his car or if he had brought it out and left it somewhere or with someone. He seemed too agitated and didn't explain as he went in search of his Sax. Poor guy. It must have cost him a fortune to acquire that instrument. For those of you who don't know him, Mike Aremu is a Saxophonist. He plays the Sax for a living and someone stole it. That's not nice.
Half the guests left immediately Sammy Okposo came on stage. I was one of those who left. There are some Nigerian Acts I'll rather not sit and watch perform, Sammy happens to be one of them, and because I don't particularly like him, it was a little nice to see people stand up from their seats immediately he was announced as the next to perform. So embarrasing! I guess people aren't feeling him or maybe they were just too tired. Whatever, as long as they left. I have bad belle for that guy...I'm sorry but I'm keeping it real.lol
Trivias
The DJ for the night was DJ Jimmy Jatt
The sound, lights and camera's were from Uzodinma Okpechi.
The stage was beautifully done
The light, sound were great
There were only two Mic's available
Pastor Chris Okotie who was supposed to be a Guest Master of Ceremony didn't show up
The place was filled to capacity
All in all, I'll give the show 8/10. Mostly because it was the AY's first attempt and for coming up with the Idol idea. That was genius.
Well, that's that. Hope you guys enjoyed my reporting. I wanted you guys to feel like you were at the show, hope I succeeded a little bit. Ciao everyone!

SHOES TO DIE FOR.

Calvin Klein
Manolo
Marc Jacobs
Maryjane Shoes
Pierre Silber
Yasmina Von
Armani Shoes
Casadei Boots
Guiseppe Zanotti
Jimmy Choo Shoes
Christian Lacroix
These are some names you should put in mind when you want to go buy shoes. That's for those of you who can afford a designer shoe. The most expensive shoe I ever bought was for 12 grand. Can't remember the name, but it was Italian. For paying 12grand for a shoe, I wore the life out of it. After 6 years of touture, I finally laid the shoe to rest. I haven't bought a show that expensive since. One day, I'll find the courage. My favourite of them all is the Manolo shoes. You should see their other collections...beautiful. Hopefully, I'll marry a rich husband, then I can go designers shoe shopping. Don't spend your money on extravagant stuff, let the man's money do it.lol

MAYHEM IN MUSHIN.
I've been meaning to share this piece with you all but it keeps slipping my mind. On Thursday March 15th, there was terrible gang fighting that happened in Mushin. According to reports, Lagos State PDP Governorship candidate, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, gave an undisclosed amount of money to some area boys in Mushin to help him campaign in that area. Money plus illiteracy plus greed is what? Another faction of area boys in that area, having heard that money was giving to be shared, wanted their own cut, which they didin't get...I really don't have all the details but a big fight erupted between the two sides on Wednesday which continued till Thursday, resulting in the destruction of cars, shops, injuries on innocent people and the unneccessary death of a 16 year old sss 3 student, who was hit by a stray bullet right inside her own home. The girl was said to be watching TV when the bullet of a police officer sent there to bring normalcy to the area, hit the girl right in the head killing her instantly.
Sen. Obanikoro hasn't become Governor yet and people are already fighting themselves, destroying properties and getting killed. What happens when he becomes Governor?
In this April general elections, let's think very carefully before placing our destiny and future in the hands of people who might end up destroying us individually or collectively. Let's avoid voting for people with bad intentions, it's easy to tell the bad ones, and let's avoid voting for people who rely so much in using area boys in achieving any purpose.
Our vote is our ticket to a better future for us, our children and our children's children. Vote wisely.

TOP TEN FACTS ABOUT CHEATING.
1. When you chEat the person who gets hurt the most is you.
2. Cheating is a form of lying - if you cheat you are also a liar.
3. Just because others are cheating doesn't mean it is OK for you to do so.
4. When you cheat in school the short term reward may be a good grade but the long term effect of the action is denying yourself knowledge and the satisfaction of achievement.
5. If you feel the need to cheat in school it shows that you need help in that subject. Getting help will curb the urge to cheat and help you succeed in the long run.
6. Cheating in a romantic relationship is very un-cool. If you are uncommitted enough to cheat you should break off the relationship and save the other person a great deal of heart ache. The pain and humiliation of being cheated on is never worse than the pain of being broken up with.
7. No matter what you tell yourself about your reasons for cheating your motivations are purely selfish. Nobody ever cheats for the sake of another person.
8. Telling on a person who is cheating is not "ratting", especially when the cheating directly impacts the lives of others (for example: people cheating on a test that is graded on a curve, or your friend is cheating on his girlfriend). You are not doing anybody any favors by covering up for a cheater.
9. It is never too late to come clean about cheating. There will be consequences but when you admit to cheating you have already taken the first step toward making amends and others will respect that.
10. Cheating rarely occurs in isolation. It is a fact that it gets easier to cheat each time that you do it, especially if you don't get caught. The likelihood that a person will cheat again is directly related to whether or not they have gotten away with it in the past.

TOP TEN THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT TRUST.
1. Trust is a two way street; you get it if you give it. For example: if you want your parents to trust you try trusting them with the truth about what is going on in your life, if you want a relationship built on trust you have to trust in the other person as much as you do in yourself.
2. Parents will usually give trust freely until you do something to break it. If this isn't the case in your family and you really can't see why your parents don't trust you just come right out and ask them for an explanation.
3. Sometimes people don't trust you because of the actions of a person close to you. It is all too common for the behavior of older siblings or friends to cause parents and teachers to doubt you. Accept that this is what is happening, don't fight it, and work at proving that in spite of the actions of others you can be trusted.
4. Sometimes trust has to be earned. If you had trust but did something to break it, it is possible to fix things. But in doing so remember that as the trust breaker you don't get to set the expectations, terms or time frame for earning that trust back.
5. In order to fix broken trust both sides have to want the trust back. You can never force a person to trust you.
6. Your parents want to trust you! What you see as mistrust of you could really be fear, mistrust of those around you and/or their natural protective instincts at work.
7. Some people have been so badly hurt in the past that they have great difficulty trusting others. If you have a person like this in your life accept that there will always be an element of mistrust in your relationship and be prepared to work overtime to prove that you can be trusted.
8. Trust is an essential part of ALL successful relationships be they academic, romantic, friendly or familial.
9. Trust is an essential part of sex - if you don't trust your partner 110% don't have sex with them.
10. Trust is a gift - you give it and you receive it. It should never be taken for granted.

ALL ABOUT ASTHMA.
I lost a very dear friend of mine to Asthma in January and since then I've taken a personal interest in what Asthma is all about. We don't have Asthma in my family, thank God, but I know there alot of people out there with that ailment. So I went digging to find out more about the disease and methods through which one can manage and live with it for a long time.
This is what I found out:
What is Asthma
Asthma is a chronic disease that affects your breathing. What happens is that your airways become inflamed and irritated in reaction to some kind of substance or situation. Your airways are the tubes that carry air and oxygen into and out of your body.
What Happens With Asthma
When you have asthma, your airways tend to be red and swollen and are easily irritated in response to triggers, such as pollen and cigarette smoke. Then, the airways' inside walls become even more swollen and the muscles tight. That means that the passages get narrower, and less air flows through to your lung tissue. A sticky substance called mucus is also produced in larger than normal amounts, which clogs your airways even more, making it hard to breathe.
Common asthma symptoms are the wheezing sound made as the air squeezes through the narrowed airways, along with coughing, shortness of breath and a feeling of tightness in the chest. Symptoms can come and go with asthma, and their intensity can vary.
Types of Asthma
Asthma is often connected with allergies, but it can also be related to non-allergic causes, such as chemicals and other irritating substances. Exercise can also bring on asthma symptoms in some people.
Asthma Risk Factors
Asthma is a very common disease and is becoming more common all the time. One of the highest risk factors for asthma is having a family history of asthma, especially the allergic kind. Asthma can affect people at any age, but half of the people with asthma develop it during childhood, usually before age 10.
Asthma affects people of all races and ethnic backgrounds. However, African-Americans are more likely to have severe asthma attacks and to die from asthma.
Top three Asthma triggers
1) Allergens
Allergens is the medical term for inhaled substances that cause an allergic reaction, such as pollen, dust, mold, animal dander, and cockroach allergens. Sometimes you need repeated exposure over a long period before you start to have asthma symptoms in response to an allergen.
2) Irritants
Irritants are substances that do not cause an allergic reaction, but that do irritate the airways, causing asthma symptoms. Examples of irritants are smoke, chemical fumes, perfume, strong odors from paint or cooking, and air pollution.
3) Other Triggers
This is a miscellaneous category of triggers, and can include a number of different substances or situations that may set off asthma symptoms. Other triggers include emotional stress, cold air, medicines such as aspirin or beta-blockers, sulfites in food or wine, and respiratory infections. In some people, even hard laughing or crying can trigger asthma symptoms.
Asthma treatment
Medicine Is Not the Only Alternative
By far the best treatment advice is to take charge of your asthma by learning all you can about it and by making changes in your home or lifestyle that can have a significant effect on the severity and frequency of asthma symptoms. What this means is to decrease your amount of contact with the things that set off, or trigger, asthma symptoms and asthma attacks. There are many things you can do, from removing the family pet from the bedroom to staying indoors on windy, hot days to keeping the home as clean and dust-free as possible.
Asthma Medicines
There are 2 main categories of asthma medicines:
Quick-relief, or rescue, medicines. You take these when you begin to notice asthma symptoms to relieve them and keep them from getting worse.
Controller, or preventive, medicines. You take these to prevent asthma symptoms from starting in the first place, or at least to keep them at a low level.
Both types of asthma medication play an important role in keeping you healthy. If you do not have both types in your current asthma treatment plan, you may want to talk with your doctor. You might also want to think about consulting an asthma specialist.
Quick-relief medicines are usually bronchodilators, also called beta-agonists. This kind of medicine acts quickly on the muscles of the airways to relax them. As your airways open up, your asthma symptoms should ease. Here are some examples of quick-relief medicines:
. Albuterol
. Maxair
. Xolair
. Xopenex
Take your quick-relief medicine as soon as you start to notice asthma symptoms, such as wheezing or cough. Don't wait until they become severe.
Controller medicines come in a number of different varieties:
. Inhaled corticosteroids
. Leukotriene modifiers
. Long-acting beta agonists
. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
. Combination medicines
. Long-acting bronchodilators
I hope this goes a long way in helping those of you out there who have Asthma. May God be with you all.

WORLD'S OLDEST LIVING PERSON.

While the title of world’s oldest living human is continually claimed by centenarians from all corners of the globe, Ukrainian Hryhory Nestor, who celebrates his 116th birthday today, probably has a stronger claim than most.
Born on March 15 1891, birthday boy Hryhory is nearly two years older than Yone Minagawa, the Japanese woman who celebrated her 114th birthday back in January and was presumed to be the world's oldest person.
Nestor also has over 4 years on Tomoji Tanabe, the 111 year old Japanese villager who claimed to be the world’s oldest living man.
But while the true age of these craggy contenders is frequently disputed, Nestor, whose story was only recently discovered by a Ukrainian newspaper, has Austrian, Soviet-era and Ukrainian passports that all confirm his longevity.
Nestor is a resident of Stari Yarychiv, a small village 25 miles from the historical city of Lviv. He has lived in West Ukraine all his life and puts his long life down to a diet of milk, cheese and potatoes plus an outdoors lifestyle that involves sleeping under the summer skies and walking barefoot throughout the surrounding countryside.
May I not live to be 116 years old. After 80, I'm fine, thank you.

THE UNNECCESSARY DEATH OF KODJO YENGA.

Stabbed to death: Kodjo Yenga was chased by a gang of boys wearing school uniform
Friends pay tribute to Kodjo, the 'fallen soldier'
A schoolboy was stabbed to death in the street after a gang of boys and girls chased him chanting, "Kill him, kill him".
Kodjo was stabbed at 5.30pm on Wednesday in Hammersmith Grove, near Shepherd's Bush, While walking with his girlfriend. The couple had been walking back from Hammersmith after having dinner with her mother and had picked up her pet dog, she said. She claimed a stranger had approached Kodjo in the street and challenged him to a fight.
At first he refused but eventually told the other boy: "Come on, let's do this then".
The pair started fighting on Hammersmith Grove before seven or eight other teenagers armed with knives, hammers and bats appeared and joined in, she said.
Kodjo Yenga, 16, was left dying in a pool of blood after being stabbed and beated.
He was taken by ambulance to Charing Cross Hospital in a critical condition and died less than an hour later.
Four youths are due to appear in court charged with the his murder.
The teenagers, two aged 13, one aged 15 and a fourth aged 16, will appear at West London Magistrates' Court.
They are charged with murdering Kodjo, of Portland Road, west London, on Wednesday evening March 14th 2007, in Hammersmith Grove.
Kodjo's mother Ladjua has paid tribute to her "beautiful, polite and loving" son.
She said: "Kodjo was a beautiful boy, very polite and loving. I loved him so much.
"He was ambitious, studied hard and was making something of his life. He wanted to go into TV and design and be a success. I just need to know why he was killed. I won't rest until I have the answers.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said the seven youths in custody over Kodjo's death were all blacks.
The killing follows the deaths of four boys in a fortnight of gangrelated violence in London last month.
What is our world turning into? I'm speechless.

'SECOND CHANCES' FOR MICHELLE BRANCH.

I'm sure alot of you remember Michelle Branch. Well, after an unsuccessful solo career, the former pop/rock chick has reinvented herself as part of the alt-country duo called The Wreckers. Their debut album, 'Stand Still, Look Pretty' is an exquisite affair.
So many timeless songs on the album, like the title track.
On the surface, 'Stand Still, Look Pretty' is a meditation on fame, but it's more than that. It's a song about frustration. About empathy. It's about life.
I'm glad Michelle got a second chance in life to live her dream.
Go get the album. You won't regret it.

IS RYAN SEACREST REALLY GAY?

Ryan and male friend out shopping
First and foremost, what is this with Ryan going shopping with another dude? You're either shopping alone or you're shopping with your partner. Does that mean that's Ryan's partner? There have been speculations...a lot of it, that he is gay but he's yet to come out of the closet. But something happened between Ryan and Simon Cowell on yesterday's edition of American Idol.
In case you missed it.......this is what happened
Ryan Seacrest: "We have a question from Georgia. What do you consider the hardest part of this contest?"
Melinda Doolittle: "Wow. I would have to say the high heels and these dresses. I like my tennis shoes and my sweat pants. I'm sorry."
Seacrest: "Simon, any advice on the high heels?"
Cowell: "You should know, Ryan."
Seacrest: "Stay out of my closet, Simon."
Cowell: "Well, come out."
Seacrest: "This is about the top twelve. Okay? Not your wishes...We're friends."
It's moments like this that make reality TV great to watch.
Is Ryan gay? That would be soooo sad!

THE FACE OF EVIL.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is his name and he has just confessed to being the mastermind behind 28 terror attacks, including the horrendous events of September 11th.
According to a transcript released Wednesday by the Pentagon, Mohammed confessed to his atrocities during a military hearing at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, this past Saturday.
Hear him - "I was responsible for the 9/11 operation from A to Z," Mohammed said in a statement read during the session.- He also confessed to the beheading of Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter that was abducted in January 2002 in Pakistan while researching a story on Islamic militancy. - The al-Qaida operative's confession connects him to dozens of the worst terror plots attempted or carried out in the last 15 years - and to others that have not occurred. Thousands have died in operations he directed.- His words draw al-Qaida closer to plots of the early 1990s than the group has previously been connected to, including the 1993 World Trade Center truck bombing. - It also makes clear that al-Qaida wanted to down a second trans-Atlantic aircraft during would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid's operation.
- Mohammed said he was involved in planning the 2002 bombing of a Kenya beach resort frequented by Israelis and the failed missile attack on an Israeli passenger jet after it took off from Mombasa, Kenya.
- He also said he was responsible for the bombing of a nightclub in Bali, Indonesia. In 2002, 202 were killed when two Bali nightclubs were bombed.
- Other plots he said he was responsible for included planned attacks against the Sears Tower in Chicago, the Empire State Building and New York Stock Exchange, the Panama Canal and Big Ben and Heathrow Airport in London - none of which happened. Thankfully!!!
- He said he was involved in planning assassination attempts against former Presidents Carter and Clinton, attacks on U.S. nuclear power plants and suspension bridges in New York, the destruction of American andIsraeli embassies in Asia and Australia, attacks on American naval vessels and oil tankers around the world, and an attempt to "destroy" an oil company he said was owned by former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger on Sumatra, Indonesia.
- He also claimed he shared responsibility for assassination attempts against Pope John Paul II and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.
- The transcripts also lay out evidence against Mohammed, saying that a computer seized during his capture included detailed information about the Sept. 11 plot -ranging from names and photos of the hijackers to photos of hijacker Mohammad Atta's pilot's license and even letters from al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.
How can there be so much evil in one person? What turned him into this? I don't like to judge people but this one I will. He doesn't deserve a second chance. May he burn in hell and dine with devil for the rest of eternity.

Alt rockers Arcade Fire secured the #2 position, selling 92,000 copies of their sophomore album 'Neon Bible'.
And, American Idol alum Chris Daughtry rounds out the top three with his debut CD.
On the singles side, Fergie has the #1 song in America. Her single, 'Glamorous', jumped from #8 to #1 this week.
Unfortunately for Avril Lavigne, her new single, 'Girlfriend', has already started to decline, despite being on the charts less than a handful of weeks. 'Girlfriend' slips from #5 to #9 this week

ISAIAH WASHINGTON REACHES OUT TO AFRICA.

I'm sure you all know the 'wahala' this guy has been going through since last year after calling one of his cast mates in Grey's Anatomy,TR Knight, a faggot. Maybe he shouldn't have done that, a hostile environment isn't ideal for work, nothing productive will come out of it, I understand that, but on second thought there's freedom of expression isn't there? The American public and especially the press have blown it all out of propotion. At a point, an online petition was sent to bosses at ABC asking the network to fire Washington, and was signed by over 9,000 people. Instead of sacking him, the execs insisted on Isaiah going to a treatment facility to seek help. For what? Calling a gay guy a faggot? I think that was too drastic.
Anyway in a bid to redeem his image in the eyes of the world, Isaiah recently made a donation in the amount of $25,000 to help fund a project about Sierra Leone.
He doesn't need to redeem his image in my eyes...He's still a cool dude to me.

ABRAMOVICH SET TO DIVORCE WIFE

Irina, wife of Chelsea's owner, Roman Abramovich may get a 'mere' £150 million share of Roman's 11 billion fortune in their divorce settlement. Legal experts said he has saved himself billions by divorcing her in Russia.
He announced that he and former air hostess, Irina, the mother of his five children had agreed to get divorced on a 'consensual basis'. It followed Abramovich, 40, Russia's richest man and one of the world's richest men, being linked to a 24 year old model and Russian socialite, Daria Zhukova.
Unfortunately for Irina, Russian courts are much more favourable to husbands than English ones. Russian law rarely provides for the payment of maintenance while the man is allowed to keep all wealth obtained before the marriage. If Irina had filed for divorce in the UK, she would have gotten at least $1.5 billion but Roman was quicker to have lodged a petition in Russia, preventing the case to be heard in Britain. The two have been married for 15 years.
If my husband was 11 billion pounds rich and I'd been married to him for 15 years, and I'd given him 5 children, and he now wants to leave me for a 24 year old model? No court, be it in Russia, Iran, Irag, Afghanistan or even hell will stop me from getting my fair share of his billions. After giving the best part of my life to him, he has to pass a good share of his money to me...otherwise...hmmm. Anyway, maybe Irina is not as greedy as I am...Good for Roman.
But it's sad when people who have shared so many years together decide they do not want to continue being together...why do things like that happen? Can't they remember how beautiful it once was and hold on to what they once shared? I don't understand divorce. What would make me divorce my husband? If he cheats? Nah! Which man doesn't cheat? How many husbands will you divorce? But if he hits me. I'm gone.

WEST AFRICAN IDOL CREATORS THINK WEST AFRICANS ARE DUMB!
How many of you are ardent viewers of West African Idol? I am and I can tell you I'm not very pleased with the way things are going with the show. First and foremost, the MC isn't ideal, secondly the venue of the show (Planet One) is too dark. You can barely see members of the audience and thirdly, there aren't people sitting behind the judegs. All you see are so many empty seats behind them. This is not right is it? It makes the whole thing seem tacky to me.
Of all the craziness going on with this show, the worst of it all and undoubtedly the most annoying is this attitude of asking judges and contestants to repeat thesame outfits they wore the previous day, the following day, so that the viewers can recognise them from the day before. What kind of craziness is that? You see a contestant wearing a particular outfit for his/her performance, then the following day (I want to believe it's the following day and not pre-recorded), the contestants are adorning thesame outfit. I really didn't understand the stupidity of it all until the presenter Mike Magic later let us know that it was a deliberate action from the producers of the show to enable us West Africans recognise the contestants from the night before and be sure we are voting for the right person. What's that? South Africans think West Africans can't recognise individuals if they are not wearing thesame outfits? Are we that dump? Is that what they think? We won't recognise Dan Foster, Dede Mabiaku and Nana if they weren't wearing thesame outfit? Some of the best doctor, lawyers, bankers etc in the world are Nigerians. I can say safely here that Nigerians are probably more read than South Africans. So thinking we will not remember who our favourites were because they are not wearing thesame outfit is a bit too much. We are way smarter than they think. Was such done in South African Idol? I don't think so. I hope they stop that rubbish asap. It's really annoying and portrays us as small minded people.
I hope I don't get on anyone's nerves but I like to say things like I feel it. I'm thinking that the creators of West African Idol do not want WA Idol to be better than South African Idol. Maybe the producers, directors, and crew of WA Idol realize that it has the potential to to be better than SA Idol and so, do not put their all in it. If you go to the WA Idol website and check the comments, you'll notice that almost everyone is saying that SA Idol is far better that WA Idol. Is that what the creators of WA Idol want? Even the website isn't up to standard. The production of the show is technically lazy or maybe the crew aren't motivated? Because they just keep taking shortcuts and think we will be too dump to recognice or see the difference. I'm thinking they probably won't get away with this if it's SA Idol. The director of this programme is tripping seriously. They can do so much better. I hope changes are effected soon.
On the good side, statistics have proven that WA Idol is a hit show, People are really feeling it, if only they can think of other ways to up the standard of show, it will be so great. It's a powerful show, full of talent and since this is the first edition, it can only get better. One day, West African Idol will produce world-class talents like Lemar, Angelique Kidjo, Sade, Seal etc. We are that talented. Mnet should just be as passionate as alot of us are in searching for the best that West Africa has to offer.

Two recent court cases, have earned the attention of newspaper readers in South Africa .
1. One person was fined R1 000 for not having a TV license.
2. Another was released on bail for R500 after being arrested for murder .
The moral of this South African story?
If you do not have a TV license and the inspector comes round, kill him. You'll save R500. ....It's the Right Thing To Do....

CHARLY BOY'S PRIVATE PART.
A journalist by training, TV producer and musician by talent, a human rights activist and social critic by conscience. Charly boy has over the years metamorphosised into the personality of whom we all have one opinoin or the other. Opinions ranging from complimantary to uncomplimantary, negative to positive, love to hatred. with Charly boy you either love him or hate him.
Now, the restless Charly boy as delved into a new vocation: writing. He has just released a book about his life which he calls 'My Private Part'. The book is about everything and anything you want to know about him. The story of Charly boy as told by Charly Boy. No cover-ups. No hypocrisy. No pretences.
I remember once being very wary of Charly Boy. He has this larger than life image that just makes him unapproachable. But I was pleasantly surprised when one day I got the rare opportunity of meeting Charly boy through his cousin Dr Alban who is a very good friend of mine. After spending over three hours with this enigma man, he became very ordinay to me...in a good way. How many of you will believe Charly Boy is a softie and a bit shy? Hard to believe right? Trust me it's all barks, no bites.
Anyway, Charly Boy's book launch was yesterday March 15th at the Shehu Yar'Adua Center, Abuja.
If you find the book, buy it! Something tells me you won't regret it. There's just so much to learn from that man.

SICKLE CELL ANEMIA.
Some days ago, my neighbour lost his last child to Sickle Cell Anemia. His two other children died some years ago. The mistake he made was that he married a woman with Sickle Cell. He also had it. It's sad that at this day and age people still take little things like this for granted. Couples need to test themselves before getting married and bringing poor innocent souls into the world.
I went searching to find out more about this disease and here are a few things to know about Sickle Cell Anemia.
Sickle cell anemia is a hereditary disorder that mostly affects people of African ancestry, but also occurs in other ethnic groups, including people who are of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern descent.
Sickle cell anemia occurs when a person inherits two abnormal genes (one from each parent) that cause their red blood cells to change shape. Instead of being flexible and round, these cells are more rigid and curved in the shape of the farm tool known as a sickle - that's where the disease gets its name. The shape is similar to a crescent moon.
Sickle cell anemia is a blood disorder that affects hemoglobin (pronounced: hee-muh-glow-bin), a protein found in red blood cells that helps carry oxygen throughout the body.
Red blood cells with normal hemoglobin (HbA) move easily through the bloodstream, delivering oxygen to all of the cells of the body. Normal red blood cells are shaped like doughnuts with the centers partially scooped out and are soft and flexible.
Sickle cell anemia occurs when an abnormal form of hemoglobin (HbS) is produced. HbS molecules tend to clump together, making red blood cells sticky, stiff, and more fragile, and causing them to form into a curved, sickle shape. Red blood cells containing HbS can go back and forth between being shaped normally and being sickle shaped until they eventually become sickle shaped permanently. Instead of moving through the bloodstream easily, these sickle cells can clog blood vessels and deprive the body's tissues and organs of the oxygen they need to stay healthy.
Signs and Symptoms
Teens with sickle cell anemia may develop jaundice (pronounced: jon-dis), a condition that results from the high rate of red blood cell breakdown. Jaundice can cause the skin and the whites of a person's eyes to develop a yellowish tint.
People with sickle cell anemia also may have bouts of pain in the chest, stomach, arms, legs, or other parts of the body. This is caused by sickle cells blocking blood flow through the blood vessels. Feeling tired and having trouble fighting infections are also common among teens with sickle cell anemia, and they may grow more slowly and reach puberty later than other teens. What Do Doctors Do?
To diagnose sickle cell anemia, doctors use a blood test called hemoglobin electrophoresis (pronounced: hee-muh-glow-bin eh-lek-truh-fuh-ree-sis) to look for HbS in a person's blood.
There is no cure for sickle cell anemia, and it is possible for some people to die from the disease (although most young people with sickle cell anemia don't die). Doctors can provide treatments that help prevent complications from the disease, though.
Folic acid, a vitamin that helps the body produce new red blood cells, is often prescribed for teens with sickle cell anemia. Pain medications help relieve the symptoms of crises. And kids and teens who have sickle cell disease often take penicillin or other antibiotics to help fight infections.
Some crises can be managed at home with pain medicines, rest, and extra fluids. But if a crisis is especially intense, the person may need to go to the hospital for intravenous (IV) fluids and stronger pain medications.
People with sickle cell anemia may also use oxygen to help ease symptoms during a crisis or an episode of acute chest syndrome. What Can You Do to Stay Well?
With the right precautions, teens with sickle cell disease can do most of the stuff other teens do.
To stay as healthy as possible, people with sickle cell anemia should take these steps:
. Eat a balanced, healthy diet.
. Take vitamins, including folic acid supplements, as prescribed.
. Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.
. Avoid extreme cold or heat.
. Exercise regularly, but in moderation. Exercise is important for staying healthy, but overdoing it can trigger a crisis in some people, particularly if they become dehydrated, overheated, or exhausted.
. Get plenty of rest.
. Avoid alcohol, drugs, and smoking, which can aggravate sickle cell disease and its symptoms. Some people with sickle cell disease are prone to lung problems, so smoking is particularly risky.
Avoid places low in oxygen. (For example, it's not a good idea to go hiking at high altitudes or spend lots of time swimming under water.)
Prevent serious infections by contacting your doctor as soon as illness symptoms start. Be sure to get any immunizations (such as pneumonia and flu vaccines) that the doctor recommends.
Learn as much as you can about the disease and see your doctor regularly to help prevent complications.
There are some limits that people with sickle cell disease may need to put on their lives, but with the help of doctors, friends, and family, teens with sickle cell anemia can manage the disease and live their lives to the fullest.
Insist on a test before getting hitched

OBASANJO BLOCKS LAGOS ROADS.
Yesterday was a crazy day for most Lagosians. When I say crazy, I mean really crazy. Especially for those who live on the Island. Or work on the Island, or had business on the Island. Obasanjo was in town and had to be somewhere on Victoria Island. And you know what his pips did? They blocked all the roads leading to VI for more than three hours before his scheduled arrival. It was not like he was on his way, they just blocked the roads because he was going to be using it later that morning. So nobody was allowed to move. People in their vehicles had to wait from about 8am till about 11:30 am before they could access the Falomo bridge, the only bridge linking Ikoyi to Victoria Island. After that, one of the busiest roads on the Island, Adeola Odeku and several roads were blocked too. Only God knows where exactly he was going to but he sure did mess the day up for so many people on the Island. The craziness lasted all day long. Till 8:30 in the night, people were still stuck in traffic, waiting for him to come and go. Alot of cars were seen abandoned temporarily on the road and I can tell you yesterday was the day for 'Okada' riders as people had no choice but to use that means of transportation to get around...it was sick.
This country isn't improving. For those of us who live here, I can tell you we are suffering and smiling.

WORLD'S SEXIEST WOMAN OF ALL TIME?

Angelina Jolie was recently voted world's 'Sexiest woman of all time'. She is very sexy but the sexiest of all time? Please...Marylin Monroe was listed as number 5. In my estimation Marilyn is far sexier than Angelina. Naomi Campbell is sexier than Angelina. Beyonce is Sexier than Angelina. Heidi Klum is sexier than Angelina. Pryinka Chopra and Ashwarya Rai are sexier than Angelina. Someone please give me more names...
I don't know if this guys in Hollywood think there are no sexy women in Africa, Asia or other parts of the worl? Hollywood is the world? Almost all the names on that list are hollywood actresses. They should have named it 'Hollywood sexiest women of all time'. Hmmm!!
But check Angelina's pout...really sexy!!

LADY IN RED

Beyonce was recently listed as number 5 on the list of the 'Sexiest women of all time'. Angelina Jolie came first. That to me is biggest hoax of the century. Angelina is a beautiful and sexy no doubt but the sexiest of all time? No way! Beyonce might not be the sexiest woman of all time but she is far sexier than Angelina. What do you guys think?

TIPS FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR SKIN
Here are some tips to help prevent breakouts and clear them up as fast as possible:
1.Wash your face twice a day (no more) with warm water and a mild soap made for people with acne. Gently massage your face with circular motions. Don't scrub. Overwashing and scrubbing can cause skin to become irritated. After cleansing, the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends applying an over-the-counter (no prescription needed) lotion containing benzoyl peroxide.
2. Don't pop pimples. It's tempting, but here's why you shouldn't: Popping pimples can push infected material further into the skin, leading to more swelling and redness, and even scarring. If you notice a pimple coming before a big event, like the prom, a dermatologist can often treat it for you with less risk of scarring or infection.
3. Avoid touching your face with your fingers or leaning your face on objects that collect sebum and skin residue like the telephone receiver. Touching your face can spread the bacteria that cause pores to become inflamed and irritated. To keep bacteria at bay, wash your hands before applying anything to your face, such as treatment creams or makeup.
4. If you wear glasses or sunglasses, make sure you clean them frequently to keep oil from clogging the pores around your eyes and nose.
5. If you get acne on your body, try not to wear tight clothes, which don't allow skin to breathe and may cause irritation. You also might want to stay away from scarves, headbands, and caps, which can collect dirt and oil, too.
6. Remove your makeup before you go to sleep. When buying makeup, make sure you choose brands that say "noncomedogenic" or "nonacnegenic" on the label. Throw away old makeup that smells or looks different from when you first bought it.
7. Keep hair clean and out of your face to prevent additional dirt and oil from clogging your pores.
8. Protect your skin from the sun. It may seem like a tan masks acne, but it's only temporary. A tan can cause the body to produce extra sebum, which may worsen your acne, not improve it. Tanning also causes damage to skin that will eventually lead to wrinkles and increase your risk of skin cancer.
Hope this helps some of you who are having skin problems

PRECAUTIONS FOR CANCER!!!
Spending some few minutes to read this will be an investment to your life. It is very informative and very useful.
1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.
3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumours.
4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.
7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.
8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.
9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.
11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply. CANCER CELLS FEED ON: a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg 's aminos or sea salt.
b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.
c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.
d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts)and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).
e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.
12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.
13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence,Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.
15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.
16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

WHAT A FAMILY.

Imagine having not one…not two…not three…but four babies at once. In March 2005, Shelly and Eric welcomed four little miracles into the world. Though multiple births aren't unusual, these little girls have one quality that sets them apart from the pack—they are identical!
With only 44 sets of identical quads ever recorded, Adele, Bonnie, Chloe and Daphne—who were conceived without help from fertility drugs—made headlines.
Though the quadruplets are growing up happy and healthy, the family is dealing with one dilemma…even their mom, an identical twin herself, can't tell them apart. "I look at them and I can't tell the difference to save my life!" Shelly says.
To prevent mix ups, the family created a "dot system." Each baby now has a pinpoint tattoo on the bottom of a different toe.
Keeping up with the quads and their big brother Logan may be exhausting, but Shelly and Eric wouldn't have it any other way. "I look at all of them and love them so much," Shelly says. "I can't imagine not having them."
This is from Oprah's show.

ICC CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT 2007
For those of you who love cricket or Baseball as the Americans would like to call, the 2007 tournament has started. It was declared open by the ICC President on Sunday March 11th. It's showing on Super Sports.
I don't understand this game in anyway at all. Anybody who knows what's it's all about should please tell me. All I see are guys throwing balls, some swinging a bat to hit the ball and others running after the ball. I'm sure there is more to it, grown men can't just be running around in the field can they? Someone please tell me what cricket is all about.

THE WORST THING ABOUT WEST AFRICAN IDOL.
The worst thing about West Africa Idol I think is the presenter, Magical Michael or Mike Magic or whatever his name is. No offence but I don't think this guy qualifies to present something so big...they should have gotten a more professional presenter who has been doing this for so long. Someone with a better accent, who can read from a teleprompter and not make it obvious, someone who can ask intelligent questions and have a comeback to everything said. All he has is good looks and that's not good enough. I'm sorry but that's how I feel about it.
I heard Dare Art Alade was their first choice but he turned it down because of the pay. He said it was too small. Then he changed his mind and wanted the job, but it was too late. They had already given it to MikeMagic.
Seriously, I think they should drop MikeMagic...and the female 'it doesn't work for me' judge from Ghana. Girl, you don't work for me either, sorry!

THE AMAA AWARDS 2007.
The African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) held on Saturday March in Bayelsa State. I wasn't there live but I watched some of it on television. My favourite Black American actor Cuba Gooding Jr was there live and guess who else? Mo'nique, from Miss Parkers. They came all the way from the USA to commensurate with their colleagues in Africa. They seem to be have both enjoyed all the attention they got.
The MC of the event was Richard Mofe Damijo and some girl from South Africa. Can't remember her name...sorry! But she was beautiful though.

This is shabby reporting right? Well like I said earlier I watched very little of it on Television. I typed on google to see if I'll find any information on the awards...for where? The crazy thing about Nigeria is that we hardly have stuff about us on the internet. An hour after a Grammy award, or an oscar you'll find anything you want on the internet about this awards, but in Nigeria, three days later there's no information. Sad right? I'll see if I can find their website and give those of you interested a list of nominees and winners.

ALL ABOUT MARIO VASQUEZ

There are two things I just found out about this guy whose song 'Gallery' I love to bits. 1. just found out he was a finalist in the 2005 edition of American Idols and 2. He is gay? That hurts too much. How can guys this fine not love women? What's wrong with this world? Someone please tell me it's not true. By the way he is a Puerto Rican-American singer from the Bronx and was born on June 15th, 1977.
