Photos: See the trailer & container sighted at Agege this afternoon

See this alakoba trucks. This was sighted on Agege road in Lagos this afternoon. Meanwhile another container fell along Ikorodu-Sagamu road this morning. This comes 48 hours after a tanker and trailer fell off the Ojuelegba bridge in Lagos killing 3 people. Can the government please do something about this!

The people in power won't say anything for now until one of their own is killed before they react. Sometimes you begin to wonder why black people treat themselves this way especially in Africa.

Anonymous said...

The roads are the culprits

A lot of these trailers were okay until encountering Nigeria roads

Let's not lose sight of the problem

Whats is the job of road safety and the police? what are they doing about this nonsense? what is the government of Lagos state doing about this?there should be a law, that if you are transporting a container, and its not well tied down, the trailer should be impounded and the owner should pay a heavy fine of 2m naira, you see that everyone will seat up.

Unknown said...

Dem get mission, they won't see us...Psalm 91

Unknown said...

I think Govt shud arrest those that doesn't tie their container to d trailer and seize d goods inside it so they will learn to stop killing innoccent pple cos most cases the trailer driver dnt get hurt

Transport vehicles should stop traveling during traffic hours simple! Make transport a late night thing, increase salary of potential truck drivers and have them legally conceal a weapon while on duty! Travel with limited amount of money.
Safety first.

Anonymous said...

They need to constantly train these truck drivers. They should at least:
Obey rules of the road
Fasten the box car tightly to the truck
Slow down

Lol@ Alakoba trucks. Ambode ehhhhhhhhh. Do something oh. Abi them swear for these trucks? There should be a laid down guideline on trucks lifting heavy loads than they can carry. And road safety officials are seeing this on the roads and allowing them pass. Their powers lie in small cars. .674

So the commander of FRSC was live on TVC news some days ago to talk about the ojuelegba incident, and from the way he spoke, I doubt if they are going to do anything tangible about these walking time bombs strolling around Lagos, called trailers.
The man was saying everything to defend the lack of commitment and ill practices by his men.
The news casters come taya for him sef!

People are been killed and yet nobody seems to be doing any damn thing , maybe bcos a rich person has not affected directly .

But Nigeria road safety would rather would rather ask you if have two caution signs and look away, while VIO'S would certify them road worthiness without seeing the vehicle, black people version.

ary said...

What is FRSC doing about it is the pertinent question here! Why is that bloody truck on the road? Just takes a little gallop or a lopsided road to have it crashing to the ground!

Anonymous said...

People owns the trucks. They are quite aware of the ill conditions of their trucks but have chosen to trade with human blood.

Secondly, I don't understand the duties of VOI, FRS and the so called LASTMA. They see these truck and prefer to be blind, let anyone of them stop me for paper check first; that day will make CNN headline news.

Where is or are the bodies/establishments responsible for road worthiness, abi are they there for only cars, because I don't get why a beast/blood sucking demon such as this is allowed to ply our/the roads majestically. My thoughts tho.

I rented a moving truck in good faith that it would be in good running condition. Far from it! It broke down 3 separate times! Two of the times I was blocking traffic. I called Budget roadside assistance and explained that I was broke down in a dangerous spot. Instead of helping me, I was put on hold for over 25 minutes. SRAC Interstate Trailer Hire
