Its a pity this is just hitting the screens. For me its long overdue. I actually grew up in this particular hood and I tell you categorically that ashimowu bakare street is even better than most streets in that area. Just a stone throw from ever bubbling kilo/shitta, but this whole area has been forgotten completely.
Hmm, even the so called Adetola Road is a bis mess. They appear and pretend to work for a day, and the next three weeks none of them will be seen. So sad that the masses will contine to pay the ultimate prize.

I grew up on Ashimowu Bakare - Linda thanks for this expose. Surulere, especially the Ashimowu area, has always been one abandoned part of Lagos. Always.
What a shame that 40years later, Ashimowu is still abandoned despite all the votes these rogue politicians get here.
