Lagos Govt gives tanker drivers 48hrs to clear tankers off Apapa- Oshodi expressway or be sanctioned

The Lagos state government has issued a 48-hour warning to petroleum tanker drivers that have unlawfully parked their petroleum tankers along the Oshodi-Apapa expressway, to move their tankers or face sanctions. The tanker drivers have for 8 weeks now constituted a nuisance on the ever busy Oshodi-Apapa expressway, parking their tanks on the expressway and causing traffic gridlock on that road with some commuters even getting robbed by hoodlums.

Please don't warn them just go ahead

Exactly, its terrible.. The traffic on that road is just something else.I dread going home from Luth everyday because of this. Sadly i don't know any alternative route. Whatever the problem is should be solved please because it's affecting road users drastically.

Thank God! I was wondering when the government was going to act. Those tankers are making it extremely difficult to commute . The audacity is what's most discombobulating. They occupy the wider highway roads leaving the service lanes for commuters, causing serious traffic.

It has been more than 8 weeks please. And anyway, what has our govt been doing since? Sleeping? If it takes "8 weeks" to react to such brazen widespread lawlessness, please exactly when are we to expect this "Change" we voted for? We are watching.

Thank you mr governor o, that road is so bad that no vehicle can pass dat lane whr the tankers are, what they do is to pass the other lane facing each other. Went there yesterday it was only God that saw me thru ehn. I took bike from coconut to apapa and the bike men over there are something, it was just too jam packed.

Babe are okay? Do u know that people are robbed daily cos of this tankers. Women slapped and men beat up, people trekking for hours and some slump cos of heat and stress. I personally trekked for over 45mins from apongbon to breweries so NO!!!! They should disappear to wherever the hell they came from. Lagos owes them nothing.

Anonymous said...

Maybe they can come and park in your house. Idiot! There's parking space for them on the lag ibadan exp way. They just refused to go there. Lagos is choked up enough as it is.

Lagos is working. Just like they barned okada riders, they should also barn tankers from coming out in the mornings and afternoons. They should only come out at night or weekends
