None of the above reasons. The reason is simply the evolution of the concept of Marriage. Take African Marriage for instance. In the past it used to be the man as the sole provider with the woman as the home maker with limited or no formal education. In present times both the man and woman are educated and are meant to pool their resources to fund the home. Now where is the evolution you will ask. Women's education and awareness and Men's conscious inability to comprehend women's new status while expecting to reap in its benefits and recoiling in the comfort of men's past status.
Simply put it is the inability to understand each other and accept each other in new world that leads to the unhappiness, lost love, lost expectations e.t.c and eventually the break up of the marriage.

I was part of those who were unfortunate to hear parents sing this belief as slogans to be real..... it's so cray and disbelieving as it were but the truth is most of us were made to believe that.
