Mine didn't swell during pregnancy tho I avoided heels from the 2nd trimester. Swollen feet is caused by water retaintion in the body and sometimes too much stress. I remember one of my friends feet was swollen during pregnancy and her doc adviced her to rest, that she shouldn't even do house chores for a while, and like magic the swelling was gone after 3 days. Btw kim is hurting herself by wearing those heels. Na for old age she go hear am #back ache things.

A pregnant womans feet swells due to increased pressure of the foetus on the lower extremities, that is , the baby exerts more pressure on the legs causing edema on the ankles and feet and because of the pressure, there is greater force needed to send fluid and blood back to the heart from the legs so some fluid retains although there could be pathological retention of fluid. @linda, swelling of the feet during pregnancy is a condition known as OEDEMA. It mainly occurs when a pregnant woman consumes a lot of spicy and salty food. Stress and standing for 2 long or walking a long distance could also be a cause of Oedema. Kapish???

your feet swells cos there is a large vein called IVC that returns blood from lower body to the heart. That vein gets compressed by baby so it doesnt return fluid/blood as well and the leg retains it. But if face and hands are swelling, its most likely a sign of pre-eclampsia..

Mine didn't swell during pregnancy tho I avoided heels from the 2nd trimester. Swollen feet is caused by water retaintion in the body and sometimes too much stress. I remember one of my friends feet was swollen during pregnancy and her doc adviced her to rest, that she shouldn't even do house chores for a while, and like magic the swelling was gone after 3 days. Btw kim is hurting herself by wearing those heels. Na for old age she go hear am #back ache things.

your feet swells cos there is a large vein called IVC that returns blood from lower body to the heart. That vein gets compressed by baby so it doesnt return fluid/blood as well and the leg retains it.
But if face and hands are swelling, its most likely a sign of pre-eclampsia..
