Manute Bol, the tallest player in NBA history (7 ft 7) during his 10 seasons, has died. He died today June 19, 2010 at the University of Virginia Medical Centre in Charlottesville. He was fighting acute kidney failure and a skin disease he contracted while trying to save his native Sudan.
Bol played in the NBA from 1985-1994 and was one of the best shot blockers in the league. He was extremely involved in charities and donated over $3.5million aid to Sudanese refugees.
Manute was 47.
