Dakore Egbuson on Ghanaian actors' invasion of Nollywood

“Honestly speaking, there is an element of jealousy among the Nigerian actors over the fact that Ghanaians are invading our industry. A fair amount of jealousy I don't see anything wrong with considering that this trend is new and people would always be skeptical about something new in the beginning. Personally, I don't have any problems with that, for the fact that we are all Africans." Dakore Egbuson

She said it was rather unfortunate this new trend started when she decided to take a break and concentrate on raising funds for her upcoming TV Talk Show. “I'm yet to act alongside/opposite any Ghanaian”, Dakore said.

What do you think of Ghanaian actors' invasion of Nollywood?
What do I think? I have no opinion...:-)

nollywood folks have an unnecessarily high opinion of themselves. they are not good actors by any stretch of the imagination. they need to sharpen those raw acting skills. as for the ghanian actors, they are even worse. i am yet to see an impressive performance ghanian actor. their benchmark is obviously nollywood and you can only imagine the results of that.

My comment? Nigerian actors: get over it and step UP your game. That means higher quality acting, production, marketing, etc. Y'all do not own the acting profession. Do you hear Hollywood complaining about other western countries' actors? Exactly.

Please NOLLYwood, allow GHOLLYwood in your industry if you too want to be part of HOLLYwood someday. Do unto others as you want to be done to you.

Moreover, we're brozhers...One love

im sorry but Ghanian movies are terrible with a capital T. most of them are all about sex or kings/princess/prince. Whats up with that? but shirley frimapong is a great director, so her movies are good ( just too americanized but good)

It was caused by two elements; 1) The arrogance and extremely high fees of Nigerian actors. Combined with their prima donna tactics...(Insisting on certain items while shooting etc) I mean why would I call e.g OmoT who will give me serious wahala when I can call a Ghanaian who is does what she/he is told by the director? 2) Its an economic thing...putting a Ghanaian actrs in my film I get two for the price of one! I sell in Ghana and I sell in Nigeria. Its a win-win situation. So its not necessarily that they are better actors...infact they are NOT!
