Tiger Woods a victim of domestic abuse?

Tiger Woods, 33, was transported to the hospital early Friday morning after crashing his cadillac escalade into a fire hydrant near his residence in Windermere, Fla., outside Orlando. It was only yesterday that reports of his affair with another woman hit the headlines.

Below is the story of what actually happened according to news media TMZ.

Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren — according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident. Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol — that should happen this afternoon. But we’re told Tiger had a conversation Friday — with a non-law enforcement type — detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant.

We’re told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We’re told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV — but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club. We’re told Woods became “distracted,” thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree.

We’re also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.

This is the woman Tiger was allegedly dating, but she's since denied the affair.

Domestic violence against men is not prevalent...but I have a feeling this incident with Tiger and his wife (if the story is true) will give it more prominence now.

If he really did cheat, that would have made her extremely mad...but mad enough to pick up a golf club?
What's your thoughts on this?

I don't condone violence of any kind, but Yes, mad enough to pick up a golf course. I am assuming she intended to hit his car with it since he was attempting to leave. Pple do all sorts when they are angry.

No excuse for hitting him though.

Yes, indeed! Men are often less willing to get help for domestic violence. Can't believe the cops are not taking this serious; can you imagine how this would be viewed if it were her & not him the injured party? I have real concerns about him being home w/her, & not talking to the police. whether or not he had an affair is immaterial; no one deserves to be beaten.

Tiger hasn't issued any statement as to what happened. Any story u hear in the media is just that..a story. No one knows what happened b4 he left his house, so the media should stop speculating and let the man talk when he is ready.

@ Sting: His wife picked up the golf club to rescue him when his car wrecked. She called 911, broke his window with the golf club, dragged him out of his wrecked car, cradled his head on her arms and waited until the ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital. He was released from the hospital shortly after he arrived.

She saved his life, she didn't try to take it.

Tiger Woods has issued a statement, according to him, he was not attacked by his wife. But witnesses are saying that his wife used a golf stick to hit behind his car when Tiger was trying to get away, after his wife found out about his affair, that is, the text he was about to send to his suppossed girlfriend/lady/woman/mistress and confronted him.

Tiger Woods is on prescription medication for some undisclosed pain that he has. So he said that under the influence of the medication, he never realised that there was an obstruction in front him as he ran his car into the said obstruction, there by going into semi coma. He came out with some facial injuries and so.

I believe that he is a victim of domestic violence. Poor chap, I pray that he gets help, like counselling. He has refused to speak to the police three times as reported. He said that the domestic violence story are all malicious. Hmm..sounds like a man suffering from low self esteem. Tiger Woods for that matter. And he is only 34yrs. His mum should intervene, please o. Before we start hearing another story, God forbid.

@ Anonymous, everything u have said is true, got the update on the news this morning, however Tiger hasn't issued any statement to anyone. He has only made statements to this incident on his website but not officially to ANYONE.

The police are investigating to see if his case was as a result of domestic violence or not. If they think it was, they would get a search warrant and see the results of the treatment he got from the hospital to verify if the cuts and bruises he got were from his accident or from his wife.
Point of correction, it wasn't his wife that called 911 as I earlier thought, it was his neighbour and according to Police when they got to the scene, Tiger was the only there, so it's either Tiger is covering up for his wife or something.

The Police believe he's avoiding to give them a statement of what happened until his bruises heal cos if the bruises heal, they wont know for sure if he got them b4 the accident or from the accident.

I know for certain now that he is hiding something but until HE says something about the accident, I am not gonna believe anything from the media.

Tiger Woods is been smart, I like the way he's handling it. He knows once he allows the media to come in they will be on him like crazy. I know that some men are been abused by their wives, and it's something men don't want to talk about, but should be taken seriously too. But, it's up to Tiger, if he wants to talk about it, he will, and if not, the media should leave him alone for goodness sake.

Tiger Woods has always lived a private life, and it has helped him so much. He should continue to do that, bcos once the media starts, there's no stop, bcos they want entertainment, but Tiger ain't having it. Whatever happened, even if he's covering up for his wife, they will both settle it, and I'm sure they will move on from there.
