On Saturday
evening, Ronaldo who scored on his Madrid comeback after months of
being injured stunningly reacted to the former Barcelona captain's
comments.
'The most searched for player on the Internet is me. Those that want to appear on front covers [of newspapers] or promote things speak about me.
'What
does it matter to me what Xavi says? He plays where? In Qatar or
[somewhere], I don't know. He's won everything but he's never won a
Ballon d'Or. I have three.'
Ronaldo
also claimed that if he were Florentino Perez, Real Madrid's president,
he would issue himself with a new mega-deal as his current deal is set
to end in 2018.
'If I were the president
of Real Madrid, I would give myself a 10-year contract. Right now I'm
not thinking about anything else in my career, all I want is to retire
at Real. This is the biggest club in the world and it should have the

his is not the first time Xavi will comment about Ronaldo and Messi in this manner, now that Ronaldo choose to respond people think he is proud. Messi for me has proved himself in only one club and country. Ronaldo proved himself in Lisbon, Manchester and now in Madrid. Need i mention that these cities are in different countries. Ronaldo also has a trophy with his country while Messi doesn't. Ronaldo is the current top scorer in the UEFA chapions league history. My point is, both players have exceptional soccer abilities but one is more ambitious than the other. Unfortunately, history may remember Messi as the greatest footballer in the history of spanish football since he has been in one club all his life. Messi need to challenge himself and try other leagues. Xavi calling Messi the best player in history every time, is synonymous to calling Alan Shearer or Eric Cantona the best player in history.
