World Hope Foundation honors singer/humanitarian, Nikki Laoye

World Humanitarian Day was celebrated in Nigeria on the 19th of August, 2015 by Nigeria/USA based organisation, World Hope Foundation with a special seminar and honorary awards event, tagged "The Nigeria Celebrities for Charity Awards" at The Oriental Hotel, Lekki.

The Nigeria Celebrities for Charity Awards is an annual event of World Hope Foundation, a Nigeria/USA based organisation created to inspire celebrities, corporate organisations, and everyday citizens to become involved in the generous act of giving. The recipient will receive a creatively designed "Hands of Love" statuette with their name and award category engraved on 19th August of every year to commemorate the World Humanitarian Day.

At a well attended event at Oriental Hotel Lekki, Lagos the First Edition took place on the 19th August 2015 in which NIKKI LAOYE, a singer/humanitarian received the inaugural edition as the Humanitarian Personality of the Year 2015 in recognition of her sincere devotion to humanitarian causes in the Country via her Angel 4 Life Foundation, an organisation committed to supporting the development and empowerment of people with disabilities (visually impaired and physically challenged youths) and people of National Concern (Internally Displaced Persons & Refugees).

After two years of research on Nigerian Celebrities working on Humanitarian causes, World Hope Foundation identified singer/humanitarian, Nikki Laoye as the most consistent celebrity serving on the field for the past five years with some of her foundation’s projects including The Isaac Olushola Educational Project for Students with Disabilities & The Buy A Cane Project (a mobility aid project for the visually impaired community).

World Hope Foundation also noted her recent role as the Celebrity Voice for federal government agency, NCFRMI SouthWest (National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons) in which Nikki Laoye and her foundation have been working with NCFRMI and other agencies via their humanitarian projects - "The Angel Relief Fund - TARF" and “School Without Walls Project” to further support the ongoing relief works for families displaced by the Boko Haram terror attacks from Northern Nigeria by providing food, clothes, medical supplies and also supporting the education of the children as they rebuild their lives in IDP camps across Nigeria.

The Gold plated "Hands of Love" Award plaque was presented to Nikki Laoye by Mr Fola Kudehinbu, MD Fountain Initiative for Social Development (FISD) and supported by the main speaker of the event,  Mr Oyebisi Oluseyi, Executive Director, Nigeria Network of NGOs and Mr Oludotun Olugbemi(CEO/Founder, World Hope Foundation).
This is Nikki Laoye’s third humanitarian award in recognition of her passion and service as an advocate for people with disabilities and persons of National concern (Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees).

Also Present at the event also were the MC, Mrs Florence Karl Ogwu; Mr Babajide Abiola, Founder, 10 Codes Services; Madam Magaret Ukegbu (NCFRMI SouthWest Zonal Head) and some of NCFRMI staff; Mrs Yetunde Laoye (Nikki's mum); Mr Alexander Oturu (Nikki's husband); Barrister Tunde Laoye (CEO, L&A Legal Consultants/Wahala Media Entertainment); Nelson Ekperi (Music Consultant/Project Manager, Angel 4 Life Foundation) and representatives of different NGOs and Charity organisations.

Congratulations Nikki, I watched your performance at #Mandate last week and you were awesome, like a cross between Lauryn Hill and Janet Jackson, the way you switched from laid back guitar music to the 1-2-3 dance was just da bomb!

So because he has time to be there for his wife, it means he doesn't have a job for himself? That's a very dumb thing to say!
