Kaduna state governor elect, Mallam Nasir
El-Rufai paid a visit to the dilapidated Arewa Textile Industry in Kaduna
earlier today. Looks like they are trying to revive it. Textile used to be one of Nigeria's highest sources of
foreign exchange in the 70s. More photos from his visit after the cut...

we just like to waste money in this country. i mean look at how this building and factory equipment was left to rot. all the govt officials every thot about was their pocket. this alone can create hundreds of jobs for people
Thank God, please he should revive it

They're not goin' to revive anything its
just for their viewing pleasure.

People like Nasiru El-Rufai despite having a very loud mouth, have always delivered. He is proud, annoying and is far from been a saint but he never does NOTHING.....I wish i was from Kaduna right now
I think Kaduna now have a fresh air, I trust he will do more. Hope Okowa will make delta state a better place too.
They shud,, home made stuff will be good for our economy
This is one of those this the clueless PDP govt has refused to see for the past 16 years. U can imagine the number of jobs this would have created. Change has come.
True talk linda, textile used to be one of the nigeria's highest sources of foreign exchange in the 70s. Everytin just changed over night. We ve many textile graduates everywhere, but no much textile industries for one to attach. Its so painful, pls they should do something about it Fast oooooooooo, cos it's killing. They are not encouraging our youths and also under graduates in the textile field. Am proud to be a textile student. Linda take note.

YEEESSSS! I knew he will do something. I remember having a heated argument with my cousin over this man, she said this demolition man wants to come and demolish kaduna? I said he will demolish all them rusty roof of 18th century and that is the change the land of my birth needs. I am sick of going back to kaduna that the kaduna of the 80s was better than. The first step, revive the dead industries!! God bless you Nasir, you have always been my hero, fearless working without caring who is affected. I yearn for the Abuja of your era, I yearn for the clean, organized and lit nights of Abuja city. You will indeed bring change to Kaduna, I am so proud of you right now. Though I reside in Abuja now, but I still have family in Kadduna and will always remain sentimentally attached to Kaduna, my placenta lies in that beautiful city, so I will be so happy to go back and visit in a city that is organized, a city where the common man is employed because if 1, just one of these textile companies comes back to life, it will give employment to hundreds and subsequently be of immense help to so many families. God bless you indeed Nasir El-Rufai.
I pray he does the needful. Linda take note!
If you visit Iwopin Paper and Pulp, you will weep for this country. I wonder why government abandoned those projects for crude oil alone.
Hope he revives it.
this is change we need job creation. it is well

This will be a means of creating Employment.
Heavenly Father, let Nigerians feel the impact of this new government and the change we seek.
