Funmi's left arm had to be amputated in January 2013 to save her life...unfortunately she still didn't make it. She died this morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. The cancer had spread to her lungs and she had completely lost the ability to breathe without a respirator. May her soul rest in peace...amen.

Reminds me of when I lost my brother to chondrosarcoma. Cancer of the bone. After a 20k plus surgery in the UK, it also spread to his lungs nd he also died in LUTH one year after. My advice to all that knows anyone with cancer: show love to that person. Let them @ least have friends and family around when they are suffering. Cancer has no cure. It can only be managed.

This is a clarion call on all women and men. Please always have your regular medical checkup so that when these ailments are discovered at an early stage, they can be managed better than when it is in the advanced stage.
All men in their 40s must get tested for prostate cancer regularly and if you have had a member of your family die as a result of any form of cancer in the past please endeavour to get tested regularly.
All sexually active women also must get tested for cervical and breast cancer. These two are the fastest type of cancer taking the lives of women in Nigeria. Please ladies, for the breast cancer, you can actually do the test yourself like 5 or 7 days after your menstrual cycle. You can also walk into the hospital to get tested fro both breast and cervical cancer. If you have had some member of your family die of cancer in the past, please always get a regular medical checkup o.
