Explaining, Governor Akinwunmi said
"Around 1am, a tanker loaded with 33,000 litres of petrol fell from the Ipaja bridge and spilled all its contents covering almost five streets here. In the last four hours, all our emergency agencies have been effectively on the ground and we have been able to manage and control consequences of what 33,000 litres of petrol would have done to this neighbourhood. Thank God, there has not been any loss of lives, but again, there are victims whose shops were destroyed. As of the last count, the agencies have been able to report that everything has been put under control. We’ve also recorded two other incidences, just like this one in other parts of Lagos overnight; one in Badagry and the other one in the Ojo area. It would also mean that our tanker drivers have to start to do something about their operations. We cannot continue to record loss of lives and property because our tanker drivers are not disciplined.”

Next time Mr Governor PLS carry your own umbrella yourself... Nobody is your slave, you're a civil SERVANT for Pete sake...am seek and tired of seeing so called public SERVANT being treated like some god. For 6 years the moron called Jonathan gets help from his adc by pulling his seat backward so he can sit. I've lived in London for over 18years and NEVER seen the public servant treated the way ours wants to be treated. Ambode pls CHANGE!

Oga Techrammer, did you not read that no life was lost? Learn to read and understand first, and not posting senseless comments.

Glad no one lost deir lives, I agree d tanker drivers should all be cautioned about deir driving
Gbam....lmao ..
Glory 2 God dat no life ws lost
these tanker menace have to be checked, they are getting out of control!
So sorry
Thank God no life was lost
This guy Ambode can not achieve half of what Fashola did. I voted for him though but be seem a bit UNSURE....
The tanker drivers are clearly being over worked and fatigued by their employers trying to cover backlogs of delivery. The employers must be cautioned to hire more drivers and reduce their trips..
