MICHAEL JACKSON AND HIS KIDS
Paris Michael Jackson looking sad behind the veil
Michael Jackson's kids made a rare public appearance recently. The most amazing but fun thing is that the children's faces were not covered for the world NOT to see. I quess the children have grown up enough to know weather they want their faces covered everytime they go out in public or not. I think Paris is too pretty to hide her face from the world. So what if your dad is MJ? A girl has got to live her life. And see how trendy she looks in her white face cap, jacket and tennis shoes. Prince Michael 1 pictured with big sis looks more like the half-caste they are. MJ is black, their mum Debbie Rowe is white. Cute kids
Prince Michael and Paris Michael Jackson
I'm sorry but I find covering the faces of little kids annoying and unneccessary. I know he's their father and has every right but for what? These children will grow up one day and the sooner they know their fate the better. They are Michael Jackson's children for God's sake...whether their faces are covered or not...they'll be stalked, pursued, photographed for the rest of their lives. It's sad but that's their truth. And hey Prince and Paris, I"ll trade places with you anyday. Don't like your life? Send it to me
But seriously, this is the first time I'll see the faces of Michael Jackson's kids. Real pretty kids. Pictures courtesy Perezhilton.com
AMERICAN IDOL JUDGES
What do you guys think about the American Idol judges? You think the owners of the competition made the best pick? And who's your favourite? How well do you know these Judges? Check out a little something I found out about them
American Idol Judges
Simon Cowell
Simon was born in 1959 to Eric and Julie Cowell in Brighton East Sussex, England. He's an Enlish artist and an executive for Sony BMG in the UK.
He is notorious for his unsparingly blunt and often controversial criticism of the contestants. He is known for combining activities in the television and music industries, having produced singles and records for various television characters such as the Power Rangers.
Four notable oversights of Cowell's are that he auditioned the Spice Girls but was not interested, turning down Take That, deciding that songwriter and front man Gary Barlow was too fat to be a star, and just this past season of American Idol, he passed on Taylor Hicks who went on to become season five's American Idol winner.
Cowell became a judge on the first season of Pop Idol in the year of 2001, and did the same for American Idol in 2002 and his acerbic style of judging was a major reason for these shows becoming popular. This was especially so for American Idol, where in its first season, talk about "that nasty guy Simon" gained the show media attention, more so than the hosts or contestants. Cowell's fame (or infamy) grew, fed by his deliberately insincere signature phrase, "I don't mean to be rude, but …", inevitably followed by an unsparing denigration of the contestant's talents, personality, or even physical appearance. One from 2005 was "You look like the Incredible Hulk's wife." Cowell also appeared on the one-off World Idol program in 2003, where it became clear that each country's version of the Idol had attempted to come up with its own "Simon Cowell", further proving his effectiveness as a villain. In 2003, Cowell placed #33 on Channel 4's list of the all-time 100 Worst Britons perhaps due to some people perceiving him as spiteful and arrogant. Cowell's S Records signed the top two finishers of the first season of Pop Idol, Will Young and Gareth Gates, both of whom went on to have #1 UK hits.
In June 2003, Cowell sold his half-share in S Records for $42 million to BMG, thus becoming a multi-millionaire.
Paula Abdul
Paula Julie Abdul was born June 19, 1962 in California to Harry and Lorraine Abdulis. She's an American Grammy -winning, multi-platinum singer, choreographer, dancer and actress. In the 1980s, her career rose rapidly, from being a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers to being a highly sought-after choreographer at the height of the music video era, then to being a pop music singer with a string of top hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s. After that she suffered a series of reverses in her professional and personal life, until she found renewed fame and success in the 2000s as a judge on the highly rated television series American Idol.
Abdul went on to serve as the choreographer for the 1980s videos of singer Janet Jackson. She also choreographed music videos for Duran Duran, Prince, The Jacksons, Kool & the Gang, Luther Vandross, George Michael and Dolly Parton. She choreographed and appeared in Michael Jackson's music video "Liberian Girl", and Janet Jackson's music videos "What Have You Done For Me Lately" and "Nasty".
In film, Abdul choreographed the dance sequences in the films Coming to America, The Running Man and American Beauty, as well as Cuba Gooding Jr.'s touchdown celebration in Jerry Maguire, the giant keyboard sequence involving Tom Hanks’ character in Big, and The King's touchdown celebration, as seen in a string of popular Burger King television commercials that aired
In 2002, Abdul appeared as one of three judges for the reality television music competition show American Idol. Abdul, along with fellow judges Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, was to evaluate the talent of a large group of young amateur singers, eliminate most of them in various audition rounds, and then judge the finalists as American television viewers voted on which finalists would continue to each successive round, until all but the winner were eliminated. Abdul won praise as a sympathetic and compassionate judge, while garnering criticism for being too sympathetic with "bad" singers. She seemed especially kind when her critiques were compared against those of fellow judge Simon Cowell, who was often blunt in his appraisals of the contestants' performances
Randy Jackson
Music Producer/TV personality
Randy was born in 1956 to Herman and Julia Jackson (No relation to Michael Jackson). He's been in the music industry since the early 1980's as a performer, producer, businessman, bass guitarist, pianist, television broadcaster, record company executive and music critic.
After more than a decade in Los Angeles, Jackson was a respected industry veteran, whose credits included over a thousand gold and platinum albums. His first reaction to the concept of American Idol was not positive. "TV's corny, cheesy, whatever," he told LA radio DJ JoJo Wright, in an interview posted on the deejay's website. Despite his years of experience in the music business, Jackson had spent little time in front of the camera--aside from a 1992 bass guitar instruction video, Randy Jackson: Mastering the Groove, and a guest appearance in the 1990 television special, Mother Goose Rock n' Rhyme. "I've been behind the scenes with all these artists," he said in a Newsweek on-line interview. "I've seen celebrity up close, but I've never really lived it."
Jackson has been a judge with American Idol since its inception in 2002. On the show, he is known for taking a middle road of criticism between the supportiveness of Paula Abdul and the nastiness of Simon Cowell. He has popularized "pitchy" as the way to describe off-key singing. He is also renowned for his heavy use of slang terms, most notably the words "dude", "dawg", and "dope". Jackson sometimes also refers to the group of male semifinalists as "the dogg pound" (though during season five, the female contestants were also included). Widely well regarded in the music industry, Jackson's commentary is generally that of constructive criticism. He tells the contestants what a record company label executive would be thinking, but what the executive would not actually tell them. He also has a very large attraction to the words "All right, dude, now check this out" right before appraising a contestant's song.

KAYODE KAYODE
Kayode, I miss you beyond words can describe. I still can't believe you are gone. I remember the last time I saw you was at Zaaki's album launch in dec 2006. We sat and talked for hours, mostly about me and the things I was going through. Nobody made me laugh as much as you did and nobody respected me as much as you did. I was always the supermodel to you. Anything else wasn't good enough. You wanted to see me excel in life. You kept pushing me to work harder and you always made sure people knew I had added another feather to my cap. I wanted to be a better person because of you.You always had my back. Even though you're gone, I know you're somewhere up there looking out for me. I'll make you proud, I promise.
My only consolation is that I know you are happy wherever you are.
I miss you so much

MY FAVOURITE THINGS
There's just so much I am thankful for. So much that I am grateful to God for.
Alot of us have stories to tell, experiences to share but not all of us have the opportunity to do so. Only a few people do and I feel blessed that I am one of those few people. It's one thing to want to share, it's another thing for people to care about what you have to say. I feel people are interested in what I have to say, and for this I feel blessed. I've learnt alot in my short life and I know there's so much more I still need to learn. I've made a lot of mistakes, taken wrong turns, made wrong decisions, ran when I was supposed to stay and fight and fought when I was supposed to have ran. But the best part of all this for me, is whether wrong or right, I did it my way. It was my mistake, my life and so far I've lived it the best way I know how.
Alot of things have helped shape my life. Alot of events have given me a better understanding of our true essence in this universe. Alot of people have made me believe in things I once thought impossible. Life has taught me so much. I dont know that much but I do one thing for sure...never take life or people for granted. Because you just never know.
I want to tell you about my favourite things. Maybe it will help you to know the kind of girl I am? or just help you to get to know me better.
These are my favourite things.

Be good
Alot of us have stories to tell, experiences to share but not all of us have the opportunity to do so.

WELCOME TO A NEW MONTH
Welcome to February, the month of love. The month when dreams come true. How many of you had a bad January like myself? Yes I had a bad January because I lost one of my closest friends/publicist to death. How many of you have seen the Denzel Washington film Dejavu? where he could go back to the past and change the future...I wish I could go back to first of January 2007 and somehow make Kayode Fayemi remember to take the right inhaler to work (kayode died on the 10th of January after he had an asthma attack and tried to use his inhaler, but it didnt work. It was later discovered that he went to work with the wrong inhaler). I wish I could change all that happened to me this month but we live in the real world where not all things are possible. On the 21st of last month, I also discovered something that I hoped was not possible. I guess life has so much to teach us all
May this new month bring us all happiness and peace of mind
May all our dreams and aspirations come to fruition
May we not shed tears and feel pain
May God be there to guide and protect us all
And for those of you in pain and hurting, may you be healed by God. May he wipe your tears and heal your hearts. May he take all your sorrows away
And for those of you who have lost hope, God will surprise you soon. He has too much in store for you, he's just waiting for the right moment to bestow his blessings upon you
For those of you who need help, call on to God. He loves you too much not to listen to your heart
And before making a decision, call onto God for guidance. He'll never lead you astray.
And always remember, the difference between your problems and its solution is the difference between your knee and the floor. Talk to God today. He knows it all and he loves you too much
Do have a great new month

MARCHELINE BERTRAND IS DEAD
Marcheline Bertrand
You might all not know the name but she has a famous daughter, famous son-in-law and a famous ex-husband. I used her name as title because I wanted to give her her own identity which was something she hardly had while alive. Her name doesnt sound familiar to you does it? She was french and was once an actress.
She died on saturday 27th January 2007 at a medical centre in Los Angeles. The 56 year old former actress battled cancer for seven and a half years before giving in last week. She was surrounded by her children.
Okay, let me let the cat out of the bag
Marcheline was Angelina Jolie's mother, Jon Voight's ex-wife and Brad Pitt's Mother-in-law? Maybe some day.

AUTHOR SIDNEY SHELDON IS DEAD
Sidney Sheldon
Hey people, Sidney Sheldon is dead. He died yesterday 30th January 2007 of complications from pneumonia. His beautiful wife was said to be by his side when he died. How many of you are Sidney Sheldon loyalists like myself? Am I sad? Maybe a little. I loved his books, very deep and intense. But the best part is that he died old. He was 89.
May we all live to be that old
May his beautiful soul rest in peace. Amen
JENNIFER HUDSON...WORLD'S LUCKIEST GIRL
"I had always dreamed but I never ever dreamed this big. This goes far beyond anything I could have ever imagined," Jennifer Hudson
JENNIFER HUDSON
Who would have Thunk it? Like a friend will say. Jennifer Hudson...from nobody to world class celebrity. I remember her at the 2004 edition of American Idols and I also remember feeling really sad when she was voted off. She was the sixth contestant to leave. And I'm sure she must have thought it was over for her, not knowing that God had a bigger plan for her. In 2005, our lucky girl was cast in the role of Effie white in the film adaptation of DREAMGIRLS beating out hundreds of professional actresses and singers including Fantasia Barrino who beat her in American Idol.
Since the release of the film, Hudson has won several awards, among which is the highly prized GOLDEN GLOBES for BEST SUPPORT ACTRESS and the SAG AWARDS(Screen Actors Guild) for BEST SUPORT ACTRESS. She has also been nominated for THE OSCARS and I'll bet my every cent that she'll also win this.
I have seen this movie and I must say she deserves all the fuss, attention and awards she's getting. Her on-screen performance of 'AND I'M TELLING YOU I'M NOT GOING' was sensational. It brought tears to my eyes. She was astounding in the movie.
Now she's a superstar. Everybody wants a piece of her and many papers want to interview her. Even Oprah called her on her talk show to congratulate her on her performance and awards. Jennifer...who would have thunk it? Congratulations girl
This is a typical example that God has a plan for everyone one of us...if you don't succeed now, relax! God knows your heart and when its time, He will bless you beyond your wildest dreams.
BRANDY KILLS AWATEF ABOUDIHAJ
Brandy Norwood
Lamont Bentley
This is one story that has really saddened me. The unneccessarily death of 38 year old Los Angeles waitress, wife and mother of one Awatef Aboudihaj, who was going about her own business on the 30th of dec 2006. Awatef was said to be driving a honda, Brandy was driving a Land Rover. For some inexplicable reason Brandy was slowed down but instead of doing that, her vehicle which was in high speed hit Awate's car from behind, Awatef's vehicle hit another car, slid sideways into a center divider and was hit by another car. She was said to have died later in the hospital. So so sad! I hear now that she maybe facing up to a year in prison for reckless driving. But her people say she was not driving under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. I hope this is true. And despite the tragedy I hope Brandy is not sent to prison. That wouldn't be fair. It was not deliberate. I also hear the dead woman's family are suing the singer for 50 million dollars...If she can, let her compensate the family but prison? No No No...Please
Ironically one of the cast of Brandy's sitcom Moesha, Lamont Bentley, who played the role of Hakeem Campbell, was killed in a car accident in January 2005 around the same area Brandy had her accident. In Lamont's case, his car plunged off the San Diego Freeway. He was the only one in the car. He was just 31 years old and had two daughters...So so sad. Check out his picture above and see if you remember him from Moesha.
May their souls rest in perfect peace
TYRA BANKS IS ANGRY
Tyra Banks is mad at the things people have been writing about her. They say she's fat. They've been calling her names and making fun of her body for so long. And she has decided to fight back. Read the story below
Tyra before and after
Television personality and former supermodel Tyra Banks has hit back at critics who mocked her as fat and dubbed her "America's Next Top Waddle" after recent weight gains.
Banks, 33, who swapped the fashion runway in 2005 for a career as a TV chat show host and presenter of the reality show America's Next Top Model, said she was hurt by the comments.
Banks, who is 178 cm tall, said she now weighs about 73kg - about 13.6kg heavier than in 1997 when she first made it as a swimsuit model.
"I still feel hot but every day is different. It's when I put on the jeans that used to fit a year ago and don't fit now and give me the muffin top, that's when I say 'Damn!'," she told People magazine in an interview for its Friday edition.
Recent unflattering pictures of Banks in a swimsuit on a beach in Australia have circulated on the internet with headlines such as "Tyra Porkchop" and "Tyra Banks is Fat".
"It was such a strange meanness and rejoicing that people had when thinking that was what my body looked like. It was really hurtful to me," Banks told People.
She said she was worried about the effect such reports would have on her fans.
"I get so much mail from young girls who say, 'I look up to you, you're not as skinny as everyone else, I think you're beautiful'," she said.
"So when they say that my body is 'ugly' and 'disgusting', what does that make those girls feel like?"
Banks said she was criticised in her 20s for her curves and hips when she was a runway model. Instead of strict dieting, she launched herself as a swimwear and lingerie model.
She has sought to highlight discrimination against overweight people, donning a padded "fat suit" and going undercover as a 159kg woman in 2005 to show how obese people are treated by others.
Banks said she was dedicating part of her talk show next week to putting the record straight about her size.

Anyway after all the talks, that apparently hurt her feelings, Tyra wrote this personal note in her website.

Have y'all,
Ever typed in your name on Google just to see what comes up? I've done it before for fun, and have seen lots of articles and photos from my career come up. But after returning from Australia recently and coming home to phone calls asking me if I was OK, I was confused. What were they talking about?
Then I remembered my flight back from Australia. Why did that flight attendant look my thighs and butt up and down -- and say, "Thank God! Thank God! They're liars!!!" I just wasn't getting it. I told myself I didn't care, but I was having trouble sleeping that night so I got outta bed, went over to my computer, and Googled myself. This time I typed in "TYRA FAT" -- and child, I had NO idea what was about to pop up on that screen.
My eyes were met with headline after headline "THIGH-RA BANKS!" "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP WADDLE!" "TYRA PORK CHOPS!" "TYRA TOPS 200LBS!" There were blogs from people shocked that it was reported I had gained almost 50 pounds in two months. I COULDN"T BELIEVE WHAT I WAS READING. Then I saw the photo of me on the beach in Australia. Written next to it was, "Tyra Banks shows the world why she retired from the runway." I needed to let everyone know what I thought about these headlines, and on the Tyra Show this Thursday, February 1st, I put on the very same swimsuit I was wearing in Australia...and confront those fat tabloid photos.
I hope you watch to see what I have to say!
Love,
Tyra

FRANCE HAS BANNED SMOKING IN THE COUNTRY
When I read this piece on the internet I was amused. Did I say amused? I Laughed my heads off. Sorry people, but I found it Hilarious...France has banned its citizens from smoking? You know why I found it funny? Because 1/3 of its adult population smokes. You guys know what that means? The adult population divided by three, one set smokes. And now its illegal? How in the world will they survive? The ban for smoking in public places came into force on thursday Jan 25th 2007. No more smoking in schools, hospitals, work places and smokers will now have to stub out on the door step of shops, sports clubs. But the real test for the french will be in 11 months when clubs, restaurants, cafe's and its like will have to comply. And are the french angry? They are so so miffed. Smokers are feeling persecuted by this ban, they feel its an attck on their personal freedom. Of course this invariable means that clubs and cafe's will suffer low patronage. Under this new law, smokers who light up publicly will pay a fine between 450 to 650 euros, while business owners will pay up to 750 euros.
My question is; will this people comply? About fifteem million of them. Some of them have been smoking for 10, 20, 30, 40 years...how do they stop all of a sudden? My other question is; is it right to enforce this law? Maybe. Because according to their health ministry's report, tobacco is the leading cause of avoidable death, claiming 66,000 lives per year and passive smoking claims another 5,ooo lives per year. The french govt are hoping that the ban will encourage smokers to kick the habit and many businesses are offering in-house sessions on how to quit smoking.
France joins Italy, Belgium and Britain which has banned smoking in public places.
I am in toatal support of the ban. Totally. Stop smoking, more lives are saved. I hope it gets to Nigeria soon
