Michael Phelps facing possible fine and a loss of medals after posing for Louis Vuitton

Yahoo news is reporting that Olympic swimming champion, Michael Phelps, could be in trouble for his recent photo shoot with French luxury fashion house - Louis Vuitton.

Photos of Phelps for LV were leaked on the Internet late last week, violating the International Olympic Committee's controversial Rule 40, which states athletes can't promote any non-Olympic sponsors from July 18 to Aug. 15. Punishments for the rule range from fines to a stripping of medals.

The campaign was set to begin on Aug. 16 in order to comply with the IOC's campaign against ambush marketing. Someone jumped the gun and the photos appeared on a wide variety of websites starting on the second Tuesday of the Olympics.

Louis Vuitton denies releasing the photographs, as does Phelps' camp.

Sacked workers of Enterprise Bank disrupt operations at HQ

Sacked workers of Enterprise Bank on Thursday and Yesterday Friday 17th crippled operations at the Bank's head quarters located at Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, over what they termed 'unlawful sack' and unpaid benefits and compensations.

The sacked staffers started the protest after they learnt that the bank was in the process of being sold to new investors and they feared the outstanding benefits will not be paid once a new management takes over. The sacked workers threatened to occupy other branches of the bank if their demands are not met.

Enterprise Bank later released a statement, insisting that no staff will suffer as a result of the transfer of service to a new owner.

'The management of Enterprise Bank Limited (EBL) has assured all staff of the First Spring Franchise Services (FSFS) Limited, a subsidiary of the bank that the planned sale of the company to a new owner in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directive does not in any way portend any problem for the staff.

Each of the 129 Russians who won medals in individual or team events at the 2012 London Olympics have all received personalized Audis from the Russian government, with different models for gold, silver and bronze winners. Gold medalists got the Audi A8, Silver medalists - Audi A7 and Audi A6 for Bronze winners. Not only that, all the medalists were given state honors by President Vladimir Putin in a ceremony that held at the Kremlin on Wednesday.

Ramadan fast continues after failure to sight new moon

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Dr. Muhammed Sa'adu Abubakar announced on NTA Sokoto yesterday night that the Ramadan fast will continue through the weekend after failure to sight the new moon of Shawwal.

Muslims had hoped to conclude their fast last night and break it with the Eid-el-Fitr (Sallah) celebrations on Sunday.

Is this 'non-sighting of new moon' all over the world, or just in Nigeria? And does this mean there's no public holiday Monday and Tuesday?

Actress Ebube Nwagbo produces first movie - Smile Again

The beautiful actress is currently on location in Asaba, Delta State, shooting her own movie titled Smile Again.  The movie features Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, Jibola Dabo, Ebere Okaro, Adaora Ukoh and many more stars.

The movie is a love story about a sad lonely girl who fell in love with an older man who had just a few months to live. The old man who gave her a reason to Smile Again within the short period of time he had left to live.

The movie is written by Ebube herself and she plays the lead character. Expect it out before the end of year.

Johnnie Walker Giant Samson Siasia Keeps on Walking!

The Johnnie Walker Keep Walking Nigeria event was a lot of fun. Samson Siasia, former coach of the Super Eagles was unveiled as Nigeria’s first Johnnie Walker Giant, and the new Keep Walking Nigeria campaign was launched. The highlight, aside from Yemi Sax, was at the end of the night, when Ali Baba did a toast to Siasia and his wife with the Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

A Badagry Customary Court, on Wednesday, dissolved the marriage between Rasheed Lateef, 38, and Toyin Lateef, 28.

Toyin, testifying in a charge of infidelity brought against her by Rasheed, who is seeking the dissolution of their marriage, had told the court that her husband was in the habit of withdrawing while they had sex and depositing his sperm on her stomach in a bid to avoid getting her pregnant.
