Can a man do this?

This sounds made up, but I promise you it's true. Someone I know is ending his 9year old marriage. I asked him why he's walking away, and he said because his wife went and got pregnant again. They have three kids and he said they had agreed not to have anymore children after the second one was born. According to him, before he married his wife, he told her he wanted only two kids, and after the second child was born, he begged her to go have her tubes tied, which she promised she was going to do, but didn't. He said he almost walked away from the marriage when the third child was born three years ago, but decided to forgive her. But not this time, he said.

I'm looking at him like "Ni**a, you gotta be shitting me, right? All this sh*t coming out of your mouth is a joke right?" and he said "I'm serious Linda, I'm done with this marriage. I told her no more kids and she went and did it again. I never wanted more than two children, I can't deal with four. She's on her own, I'm done!"

Is this guy serious? Have you guys ever heard anything like this before? How can you ask a woman to tie her womb because YOU don't want anymore kids? Abi, is this how it works in marriages? I'm not married so this is a little confusing for me. Should a man dictate how many children there should be in a family? And then, does he have a right to tell his wife to tie her tubes? Someone please tell me this guy is sick in the head.

You all remember the Forbes list of top 5 richest pastors in Nigeria that was released sometime last week? (Click here if you missed it). Yeah well, the Synagogue Church of all Nation is not happy that pastor T.B Joshua was included in the list. They released a letter addressing the issue today.

We have been informed of the many recent articles on the internet stating that Prophet T.B. Joshua is one of Nigeria’s richest pastors. We have a few words to say on the issue.

First, we do not understand how those involved came to their conclusions. There are many who are wealthy in Nigeria and around the world and there is nothing at all wrong with having money. Money is a gift and the richest have that blessing. But we are not among them.

So who is older?

Media reports and people have always said D'Banj is older than Don Jazzy. But if you check their new Wikipedia pages (since signing with G.O.O.D Music), Don Jazzy is 1978, D'Banj 1980. Thought Don was 1981/2? Don has always said he was younger than D'Banj...so watagwan Wikipedia?

Police HQ Bombing: Justice Will Be Done - President Jonathan

Dear countrymen and women, this is not a time for too many words, however, let me say that the unfortunate event that occurred yesterday in Abuja is a turning point. About two months ago, I addressed the nation and said "enough is enough". I meant what I said and the Federal Government will with level headedness but urgent priority take appropriate steps to bring justice to those behind the dastardly attack. I promised an era of transformation and I will not waver in that commitment nor allow any force hamper that resolve to bring about those positive changes that the common man in Nigeria desires and has patiently waited for.

I commiserate with the families of the victims and assure them that justice will be done and that their loved ones did not die in vain.
 
Finally, let me say that EVERYTHING that needs to be done to fish out the masterminds of the recent bombings will be done. GEJ

Lagos flags off drainage cleaning to check flooding

As part of efforts to check flooding in the State this rainy season, the Lagos State Government has flagged off what it tagged ‘operation clear your frontage drainage’ .

This is coming on the heels of recent warnings by the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, and the Nigerian Meteorological Agency NIMET that Lagos would experience heavy rains this year.

The deceased, Master Lawal Buhari, was a primary one pupil at Irepodun Primary School, a stone’s throw from Oriola bus stop at Alapere in Ketu.

Question Mark acts, Harrysong and Ego fight in public

Day was Saturday June 4, venue was The Place on Isaac John str., Ikeja, GRA. Ego and Harrysong were billed to perform together at the venue when all of a sudden they started screaming at each other in the full glare of guests and some eye witnesses at the venue allege that Harrysong put his hand on her. Their performance at the show was consequently cancelled.

Harrysong and Ego, who were good friends before the incident and were even once rumoured to be dating have since settled. Ego told friends that Harrysong called to apologize to her.

Paddy Adenuga's security team strike again

I'm sure you all know he goes around with mobile police and body guards. That's not a problem...the problem occurs when these body guards start harassing/assaulting people. I witnessed his mobile policemen assaulting two ladies sometime last year in front of Auto lounge club, (read here if you missed it). His security detail struck again on Sunday June 12 at Get Arena, venue of Jimmy Jatt's Jimmy's Jump Off event. They beat up the security guard at the gate because he blocked the entrance of the venue and 'dared' to ask Paddy and his friends for their invites to the show. Absolutely not cool, Mr Adenuga. Caution those boys!

Pastor Adeboye Builds N100m cancer screening and prevention centre

Pastor Adeboye's Redeemed Church of God have built a cancer screening and prevention centre with Hi-tech equipment worth close to N100m. The 10-room centre called Healing Stripes Hospital, is located on Adebisi close, off Ajao Rd, Surulere, Lagos and will offer pre-cancer awareness and enlightenment programme, screening, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring.

The centre was officially commissioned on June 5 by pastor Adeboye and anyone can go there for screening.

Boko Haram claim suicide bombing of police HQ, IG of police their target

Nigerian radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram, has claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb attack on police headquarters in the capital Abuja that killed two, saying their target was the police chief.

"We are responsible for the bomb attack on the police headquarters in Abuja which was to prove a point to all those who doubt our capability," the group known as Boko Haram said after the attack late Thursday.
The powerful explosion, believed to the first suicide bombing by Islamist extremists in Nigeria, ripped through the police headquarters car park, killing a police officer and the bomber, wounding several others and destroying dozens of cars, according to police.

Please don't tell me suicide bombing has come to Nigeria...oh no!

World renowned saxophonist Kenny G to perform in Lagos

This will be Kenny G's first performance in Nigeria and you don't want to miss it. The American saxophonist, 56, will perform alongside Nigerian saxophonist Mike Aremu at Mike's popular Jazz concert, ‘Sax Appeal’ on Sunday, July 3 at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island at a concert tagged ‘The Jazz Show of the Year’ 

The organizers have confirmed the full set of acts (from four countries: Nigeria, South Africa, the United States and England) getting set to perform. They include: MOBO award winning Briton, Yolanda Brown; South African Judith Sephuma and Kunle Ayo (a South Africa based Nigerian guitarist), and singer Waje. Comedian, Tee-A will anchor the show.

It happened this morning around 10:50am at the National Police Force Headquarters, Louis Edet house, Abuja. Not much details at the moment..though some people are claiming the attack was carried out by a 'lone suicide bomber'. Also the number of casualties is not yet clear. More details coming....
