Myro set to drop first single under Masterpiece Records Imprint

Myro’, real names Oghenemairo Daniel Ozah, is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and rapper born in inner city Ajegunle, Lagos. He grew up in Surulere area of Lagos. As a child, he was tutored performing art by the legendary Joke Silva and Olu Jacobs at the Abbey Junior mixed and Infants School, Ikeja.

He completed secondary education at Avi-Cenna International School, Ikeja on an art scholarship and graduated top of his college at Caleb University, Lagos. He grew up listening to Shabba Ranks, Plantashun Boiz and Kanye West. He always attended stage plays growing up and says Jimi Solanke is his icon. 

Vice chairman of the Sun Newspapers, Dimgba Igwe dies at 58

Veteran journalist and vice chairman of the Sun Newspapers, Dimgba Igwe has died. He died today from injuries he sustained in an accident.

The associate publisher of Entertainment weekly magazine was knocked down this morning by a car while jogging near his home in the Okota area of Lagos. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died. He was just 58 years old.

Dimgba alongside his best best friend Mike Awoyinfa, pioneered the now rested Weekend Concord newspaper and The Sun Newspaper. He was also the Assistant General overseer of Evangel Pentecostal Church‎, Lagos.‎ May his soul rest in peace...amen.

24-year-old Emmanuel Erherhie, a member of a 6-man robbery gang that was recently apprehended by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja in Lagos has confessed to arranging with his friends to carry out a robbery attack on his own uncle who lives in Festac Town, Lagos.

My very close friend has been married for 4 years and I just found out that her husband has a mistress. My friend is 7 months pregnant and is in a very happy phase in her life. It hurts me not to tell her but at the same time I don't want to be the one to burst her bubble especially with her condition. Though this won't be the first time he's cheating on her. He once got a girl pregnant when they were dating just cos my friend was a virgin back then and refused to sleep with him. Though he made the girl abort the baby and moved mountains to make my friend forgive and come back to him. They dated for 7 years, he disvirgined her and she has invested so much time, sweat, energy in the relationship that now that it has finally materialised into marriage I just don't want to be the one to uproot her world.

So do I tell her or wait till she delivers or just let her find out herself? Please, I need your honest opinions.

'I’m free from Ebola, but now I’m jobless' fiance of late nurse says

Dennis Akagha, the fiance of late nurse Justina Ejelonu who died from the deadly Ebola virus, says he's currently being stigmatized for being associated with the deadly Ebola disease. DSS to quiz Alimodu Sheriff over Boko Haram sponsorship allegation

The Department of State Security, DSS, says it will be inviting former Borno state governor, Alimodu Sheriff, for questioning following recent allegations leveled against him by Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, who said he's a Boko Haram sponsor.

Speaking at a news conference today in Abuja, spokesperson for DSS, Marilyn Ogar, said the former governor had in the past been invited to the DSS office for questioning over Boko Haram activities and they will be inviting him again. Update: Unreponsive U.S plane in Cuban airspace crashes off Jamaica

A 7-seat private plane that took off from Rochester, New York this morning and heading to Staples, Florida, is currently flying over Cuban airspace with the plane occupants not responding to attempts to communicate.

CNN reports that two fighter jets trailed the plane, which is a Socata TBM-700 light business and utility aircraft, but stopped when it crossed over into Cuban territory.

Spokesman for the North American Aerospace Defense Command said the plane's windows were frosted and it is unclear how much fuel is left. The plane is said to have been flying unresponsive for some time.

NORAD has reached out to Cuban authorities and now Cuban fighter jets are trailing the small plane which took off from NY about five hours ago. Cuba is currently not looking at the plane as a threat.

Leader of terrorist group al-Shabaab killed in U.S airstrike in Somalia

The Somali prime minister said on Friday that Ahmed Godane, head of the Islamist militant group al Shabaab, was killed in a U.S. strike on Monday, although the group that is waging an insurgency against the government has yet to comment.

U.S. officials had said on Wednesday that they were still checking to see whether Monday's U.S. missile strike on an al Shabaab encampment had killed Godane, who was appointed leader in 2008 after his predecessor was killed in a U.S. attack.

"We tell the Somalis that Godane is dead," Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed said on his Facebook page, the first government confirmation of his death. (Reuters)

FG denies hiring Stephen Davis as Boko Haram negotiator

These people like to confuse Nigerians sha. How will someone claim he was hired to do a job by a government if that is not so? FG has denied claims by Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, that he was hired by the Nigerian Government to negotiate for the release of Chibok girls.

Speaking through the Coordinator of the National Information Center, Mr Mike Omeri, today Sept. 5th in Abuja, FG said the decision to hire a negotiator would be made public whenever they decide to do so and that they have no plans to question those alleged to be Boko Haram sponsors by Stephen Davis

"For now nobody has been hired by the government to negotiate on its behalf with Boko Haram. Anytime the government decides to do so, it will make it known to the public. The government is still investigating the allegations made by the alleged negotiator. However, the government has no plan to question anybody because of those allegations made by the Australian,” Omeiri stated.

Usher wants ex-wife Tameka Raymond to drop his name

Five years after their divorce, Tameka Raymond is still using Usher's last name. In a recent interview Usher says his Tameka needs to give it up.

When asked how he feels about his ex-wife still using his last name in an interview with Dish Nation Usher admitted he felt some kind of way about it.
