Youth Lunch with President Jonathan. What exactly is our offence?

So since our meeting with the president on Tuesday May 24, some of the youths who attended, myself included, have been insulted, made fun of and belittled in the most unfair manner, on FB, twitter, blogs and many online forums. 

Thankfully I have a platform through which I can get my voice heard, and if some of the youths that attended don’t talk, it’s as if we have something to hide... so here goes.

Witches deploy 500 members to Abuja for Jonathan's inauguration

The Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria (WITZAN), has deployed 500 witches to Abuja and other parts of Nigeria ahead of the May 29 presidential inauguration, to prevent any tragic occurrence and ensure peaceful inauguration. According to its national co-ordinator, Dr Okhue Iboi, the decision was taken after an emergency meeting at Zuma rock, Niger State. WITZAN also warned President Goodluck Jonathan to take adequate security as bad  people and disgruntled politicians are planning to cause problems. - Sun Newspaper

Nigerian High Commissioner to Kenya batters wife

This incident made front page headline in the local newspapers in Kenya but we are only just hearing about it in Nigeria. The High Commissioner to Kenya, Dr. Chijioke Wigwe is being accused of battering his wife and there are pictures to prove it. The photos of a battered Mrs Wigwe was published by a newspaper in Kenya called the Nairobi star.

See the woman's face. What an animal. I hope they relieve him of his post.

Since this year, everyone who's been to the Kenneth Agbakuru Lekki Phase office of her Guepard production, a multimillion naira production company which she officially launched last year, have found the place under lock and key, leading to speculations that the ex-actress has closed the place down...for reasons yet to be made public. All the artists signed under the company's label have also been let go.

The plane crash in Kaduna

It happened two days ago, May 24. Two people were on board, a British pilot and a Nigerian engineer, who had been test-running the aircraft to ascertain its safety before it crashed. They were both killed. The aircraft belonged to a foreign oil company, Shoreline International.

Anger as policeman shoot passengers in Lagos over N100

Less than 24 hours after a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and a Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) were killed by some rampaging soldiers in Lagos, the blood of some innocent Nigerians were again shed yesterday, allegedly by some policemen detailed to guard the Isheri-end of the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.

For the refusal of the driver of a commercial bus to part with N100, three mobile policemen opened fire on the bus, killing and injuring some of the passengers.

The deaths of members of the NYSC during the post-election violence is condemnable and we need to prevent a re-occurrence, but in doing that, there should be an awareness that the NYSC is a force for good and we must never sacrifice what is good for what is convenient for the moment. Leadership is about taking in the big picture.

Mystery Death In A Tailor's Shop

The two friends, Abiodun and Oluseyi lying dead inside a tailor's shop at Obalende, Lagos

The police in Lagos State, are trying to unravel how 29-year old Apatira Babatunde Abiodun and 30-year old Oluseyi Taiwo Abbey died at the weekend inside a tailor’s shop in mysterious circumstances.

It was gathered that the two friends were found dead at the weekend in a shop located at No 70, Ajeniya Street, Obalende, Lagos Island with blood stains in their mouths. Eye witnesses said they might have been poisoned.

Bloodbath in Lagos: Soldiers kill 10 police men in Badagry

Blood flowed freely Tuesday in Badagry, Lagos after a group of heavily armed soldiers from the 242 Recce Battalion, Iberepo  Badagry took over strategic locations in the ancient town maiming and killing any police man on sight in an apparent reprisal of the killing Monday, of one of their colleagues.

The Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Saliu Samson, his Divisional Crime Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DPS) Samuel who were out in the ensuing fracas to appeal for calm were shot dead.

Mercy Johnson to quit acting after her wedding?

That's what Vanguard is reporting.

Asked whether she will quit acting after her wedding, the sultry actress answered in the affirmative, declaring that “I’m going to quit acting.” She disclosed however that she is planning to go into television and also, to turn a movie producer.

The actress is getting married in a four-day event this August. The court wedding on the 25th, the traditional on the 26th, the white wedding on the 27th, and the thanksgiving on the 28th.

If this report is to be believed, it means another talented actress is forsaking her blossoming career after getting married. Hopefully she's quitting because it's what she wants and not because she's being forced to. Will you be sad to see her leave Nollywood?

Youth Lunch with President Goodluck Jonathan

 

A select group of Nigerian youths, myself included, were invited to have lunch with president Jonathan this afternoon to talk about issues that concerns the young people of this country and how we can all work together to move the nation forward. The event held 1pm today at Eko Hotel, Lagos. I went there mostly out of curiosity, 'cos I've been invited before and I didn't go, I wanted to know what exactly happens at all 'dem gatherings with the president. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a lot of passionate youths who had a lot to say. Hopefully the president listened to all we had to say. Got some pictures, will bring it to you tomorrow.

A man who refuses to make love to his pregnant wife

A reader wants me to ask you guys, especially married women, if it's normal for a man not to want to make love to his wife while she's pregnant. She says her husband stopped touching after her tummy started showing at 31/2 months and it bothers her that her husband doesn't find her desirable while she's carrying his baby. When she asked him about it, he said he doesn't like to sleep with pregnant women. So she's gone for many months now without sex. She says she's in her final weeks.

I'm not married but I don't think that's normal behaviour. At least I can't take it. Deny me of sex? That's grounds for divorce na...lol. But seriously, is this common? And what can she do about it?

The arrest of a man who sexually assaulted a five-year-old girl before mutilating her vagina for rituals has put Adamawa state on the spot.

Doctors say the little girl, survivor of the gruesome attack (name withheld), will require reconstruction of her vagina because of the severity of the mutilation by the suspect, identified as Kunini Jacob.
