Women who swallow semen reduce the risk of cancer...

Women who perform the act of fellatio and swallow semen on a regular basis, one to two times a week, may reduce their risk of breast cancer by up to 40 percent, a North Carolina State University study found.

Doctors had never suspected a link between the act of fellatio and breast cancer, but new research being performed at North Carolina State University is starting to suggest that there could be an important link between the two.

In a study of over 15,000 women suspected of having performed regular fellatio and swallowed the ejaculatory fluid, over the past ten years, the researchers found that those actually having performed the act regularly, one to two times a week, had a lower occurance of breast cancer than those who had not. There was no increased risk, however, for those who did not regularly perform.

"I think it removes the last shade of doubt that fellatio is actually a healthy act," said Dr. A.J. Kramer of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, who was not involved in the research. "I am surprised by these findings, but am also excited that the researchers may have discovered a relatively easy way to lower the occurance of breast cancer in women."

"Only with regular occurance will your chances be reduced, so I encourage all women out there to make fellatio an important part of their daily routine," said Dr. Helena Shifteer, one of the researchers at the University. "Since the emergence of the research, I try to fellate at least once every other night to reduce my chances."

Marriage: Do or die? Really?

By Lola Avari

I honestly do not understand why marriage is viewed as a do or die affair. Marriage is no one's last bus stop but some people make it seem so. Why is it that in the Nigerian society marriage seems to be so crucial? This obviously causes desperation in men and women... yeah I said it, there are also desperate men. This is also one of the reasons why so many marriages are failing. People are pushed to looking for a lifetime partner due to social and family pressure and no one is looking for Mr or Miss right for me but they are busy marrying Mr and Miss right now.

If a lady is approaching her thirties and is not in a relationship heading for marriage or married, it is always a problem. Then when they pass the 30 age mark it becomes a problem to find a man to take you as wife... and even if he did, his family may have a big problem with it. Notice how when you are married the people who pushed you into it are not the ones actually living your life or helping you deal with the emotional, mental and physical stress caused by the marriage rushed to early...

Why RUSH? Is marriage just about the wedding and letting people know yeah I'm married now... what is it about marriage that tells people just do it anyhow... it is a thing that requires the two P's: patience and prayer.

So even when you don't marry, why is it such a big deal? especially for the women. If the right person has not come along must the desperation lead you into a lifetime of sorrow or a marriage of chance (meaning you don't know if it will be a happy or bad union).

I know loneliness is not the best way to live a life but its better than suffering with a companion from hell. Why not wait for the right moment; be it age 30, 40 or 50. I do not like the idea of a divorce and it hurts to know that this is the new solution for a problem in a marriage; this is because the match was not the right one from the start...

So I ask, is marriage really a do or die affair??? Or a DO OR LIVE???

Question of the day...

I'm directing this question at The Nigeria Labour Congress (That's if we still have one). Hopefully someone there or someone who knows someone that knows someone that knows someone there reads this blog. Bia biko, dis fuel scarcity no reach una side?

Since early December or was it late November, there has been scarcity of fuel...with no end in sight. What is going on? There's been no comment from you guys. Usually by now you would have addressed Nigerians, or started making trouble with the federal government, or even called for a nationwide strike, but nothing at all.

NLC, Why the silence? Have you people been pacified? Why is no one saying anything? If you don't address this fuel scarcity problem, who else will?

P.S - Been stuck at the office all day (notice the blogs? :-)) 'cos I don't have fuel to move around anymore. I don't have the patience to queue and I'm tired of buying black market.

Please do something NLC, we can't keep living like this.

Central Bank asks Ovia, Elumelu to step down

Banking titans Jim Ovia and Tony Elumelu, who have dominated the sector in recent years, are among those who must step down on or before July 31 this year, under new guidelines by the new Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) limiting the tenure of bank chieftains to 10 years.

Mr. Ovia has been the managing director/chief executive of Zenith Bank Plc from its inception in May 1990, while Mr. Elumelu, who served as the managing director of the defunct Standard Trust Bank (STB) in 1995, emerged as the group managing director/chief executive of United Bank for Africa (UBA) in 2004, following the merger of the two banks.

Akinsola Akinfemiwa, the managing director/chief executive of Skye Bank Plc, will also be affected by this guideline, as he assumed position in 2000.

The new guidelines announced yesterday (Tuesday) at the end of the Bankers Committee's meeting in Abuja, are in line with the ongoing banking reform initiated by Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the Central Bank governor, to enthrone good governance in the nation's financial system.

News source: 234next.com

Seriously I don’t know what Sanusi is up to. Should CBN be deciding the tenure of bank MDs? Is this done anywhere in the world? Not that I have anything against it - my father is not a bank MD :-), I'm just wondering if CBN isn't taking things too far...

Quote of the day

"The thing that's interesting is I don't need Sasha Fierce anymore, because I've grown, and I'm now able to merge the two. I want people to see me. I want people to see who I am." Beyonce

What? No more Sasha Fierce? Don't try it o Beyonce...don't even try it!

And here she is on the Cover of Allure Magazine. Sasha Fierce ain't going nowhere...lol.

Funny language...lol

Is English really stupid or the people that invented the language???

Let's face it: English is a stupid language.
There is no egg in the eggplant, no ham in the hamburger, and neither Pine nor apple in the pineapple.
English muffins were not invented in England; French fries were not invented in France.

We sometimes take English for granted. But if we examine its paradoxes we find that Quicksand takes you down slowly, boxing rings are square and guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

If writers write, how come fingers don't fing?
If the plural of tooth is teeth, shouldn't the plural of phone booth be phone beeth.
If the teacher taught, why didn't the preacher praught.
If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what the heck does a humanitarian eat?
Why do people recite at a play yet play at a recital?
Why do people Park on driveways and drive on parkways.

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language where a house can burn up as it burns down and in which you fill in a form by filling it out. And a bell is only heard once it goes!

People, not computers, invented English and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which of course isn't a race at all). That is why when the stars are out they are visible, but when the lights are out they are invisible.
And why is it that when I wind up my watch it starts but when I wind up this story it ends?

And there's more...

Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery?
If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Why is a person who plays the piano called a pianist, but a person who drives a race car not called a racist?
Why are "a wise man" and "a wise guy opposites"?
Why do overlook and oversee mean opposite things?

If horrific means to make horrible, does terrific mean to make terrible?
Why isn't 11 pronounced onety-one, since 22 is pronounced twenty-two?
If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn't it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted, cowboys deranged, models deposed, tree surgeons debarked and dry cleaners depressed?

Why is it that if someone tells you that there are 1billion stars in the universe you will believe them, but if they tell you a wall has wet paint you will have to touch it to be sure?
If you take an Oriental person and spin him around several times, does hebecome disoriented?
If people from Poland are called "Poles," why aren't people from Holland called "Holes"????

I REST MY CASE
Thanks.
