How we met: We met in April 2009, I left school (igbinedion university) with my friends to go for a swim at choice gate hotel and there he was with a group of friends chilling. Immediately he sees me, he starts saying that he has seen his wife and how he is in love with my eyes. I paid no heed to him as I felt it was the usual words of a guy trying to woo a lady. Jay Z is said to have bought drinks for a beauty queen amid rumours about his marriage to Beyonce. The rapper spent more than $8,000 on champagne while partying with gorgeous model Claudia Scheelen in Antwerp’s Magic nightclub last month.
Claudia, 27, told the Mirror: “I was with my girlfriends and he sent over a drink to us – he had this huge bottle of Ace of Spades champagne, it must have been six or ten litres.
“He told me ‘I’ve been all over the entire world, but the girls in Antwerp are the prettiest girls.’”Claudia says Jay Z didn’t talk about his wife or one-year-old daughter when they met. “He didn’t mention Beyoncé or Blu once,” she added.

In a new interview with Punch, the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya said he dated someone who had a bad record and that affected him. Timaya and actress Empress Njamah dated for a few years. Their much publicized affair ended in 2009.
“You should not date somebody who already has a negative record. In my own case, it affected me at that time. I feel that a relationship should be between two people and not exposed to the rest of the world. Only a smart man is able to keep his relationship private."

Aero Contractor reportedly changes name to Nigerian Eagle
Thisday reports that the airline will be unveiled this Sunday as the nation's national carrier by
President Goodluck Jonathan on his return from the UK.
"There will not be Aero Contractors anymore. It is now Nigerian Eagle and it will be launched on Sunday by Mr. President. You will not see Aero anymore after the launch of this airline”. Sources told Thisday on Wednesday,
The Federal Government owns 60% stake in the airline.

Monarch burnt to death after arsonists set palace ablaze
The Alase of Ilase-Ijesa, Oba Adesina Anibijuwon, was burnt to death inside his palace around 8pm Wednesday though there are reports that he was strangled before his home was set on fire.
Residents of the community claim the late Oba, who had been blind for nine years, was attacked by suspected members of Odua People’s Congress who invaded the palace that night in a Mazda 323 car which they later set ablaze.
The charred remains of the late Oba Anibijuwon was taken to the mortuary at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital in Osogbo. The police is investigating his death.
