So yesterday I went to the US Embassy to get a Visa (My first attempt) and during the interview, the guy asked me what I do for a living. I replied - "I run the biggest entertainment blog in Nigeria.". He said really? And then he Googled it. What he saw on Google when you continue... hehehe!!!

Also based on the hint you gave, the man at the US embassy probably gave you a MULTIPLE ENTRY visa. If that is the case, I am happy for you. Atleast, you will not have to pay visa fees each time you need to travel to the States.

It's 2 years they always give at the start if you aren't going for a conference or training program. It has nothing to do with the size of your business. All you need is proof that you have sufficient ties in Nigeria to ensure that you don't run away, that your papers are genuine and that you can afford to take care of yourself financially and otherwise when you get there.
I am impressed that you did the right thing by waiting until you were ready and had it all together before applying for the visa. Desperation is what is killing half of the Nigerians who just want to answer "been-to" by all means. Best wishes Linda.
I will however not say congrats because going to America is not an achievement. I congratulate you for the success you have made of your blog and your business.
America is a beautiful place but truth is there's absolutely no big deal about going to America. The only good thing is that It will only make you realise how useless Nigeria is and what a bunch of fools our leaders have been so far.
That I consider a good thing cos when you return, you will be inspired to work harder to give yourself a good life instead of relying on government for anything.
You also realise that east or west, there's nothing quite like home, trust me.
