It is called phocomelia. It happens. Another reason why pregnant women should not ingest all sorts of concoctions in early stage of pregnancy. Reminds me of a famous American evangelical/motivational speaker.
POOR CHILD! ds is d reason y women r always advised not to take any type of concoction or medication whatsoever within d first three months (1st trimester) without consulting ur doctor. it causes deformation such as ds.
forget dis concortion, deformation bla bla bla do u knw wat ur mother ate wen u are on her belly,God is omniscient he's d one who knws y he made her like dat
Na wa!As usual Nigerians like to sensationalise unnecessary and ridiculously easy to explain scientific happenings. When are we going to start thinking in a more practical manner?I read through comments and just 2 out of the 9 so far made sense. The neonate has a condition called phocomelia caused by the ingestion of drugs/herbs,thalidomide has been implicated. What does BH or God have to do with this? And really why does the owner of this blog overamplify what is relatively a "harmless" medical condition????Our future progress lies in our ability to think
I've never seen this kind of thing all my life and that's the more reason we should be more prayerful those last days and be very careful of everything we do. I pray that God will help the mother specially to still give this wonderful gift the love and care she deserveds.
This happens to be what I am currently studying at0 med school. 200L embryo. A drug thalidomine or thalidomide causes malformation of limbs. The irony is this drug I just mentioned is only but one, many other drugs can causes this malformation that is why right from 200L we have been told never give a pregnant woman any drug not APPROVED. Some malaria drugs can also cause this and only GOD knows what she was exposed. My heart goes out for this child, this is really heart renching
What I am very sure of is dt God is aware dt ds Child is going to come out ds way, He alone knows y d baby came out without limbs nd I knw He wil equally tke care of ds baby. HE IS CAPABLE IN ALL RAMIFICATIONS. I Trust in Him. All is well.
Infact insensitive is an understatement. U are just a heartless piece of shit!!! How dare u say that about an innocent baby?? Don't let me curse u here o!! Oloshi!!!
Yeah! I know pregnant women in their first trimesters aren't suppossed to take certain drugs...Sadly, not everyone (especially, those in the rural areas) knows this. Grassroot pre-natal information is very important to prevent similar cases.
Now, to those that are amused by someone's misery, please have some decency. She is so innocent and does not deserve to be born this way... The sins of Boko Haram live with them.
Scans should be made available to pregnant women in naija abeg .this is no thalidomide baby no dr should be stupid enough to prescribe that.if it is not iron supplement or prenatal u should not be taking any other thing not even aspirin
U dat is fully baked in ur profession if u hv one u tink medicine is rice n bean?if u tink so try studying it,dey r telling u d curse u r talking nonesense.dnt eva insult d medical profession again
With the right aid this baby can grow up normal, even tho it wont b easy, and b greater than timewasters with accessory-like useless limbs. May God b 4 her.
IGBENOBA OMOTOLA. CALEB UNIVERSITY LAGOS. whilst pregnant, the woman must have gone on some drugs which are known not to be acceptable for the health during pregnancy. God help her....... Amen
When some people have hands and legs and dey still can't praise God! I have a reason to praise him for typing dis message! May God guide her n family. Amen
