Asisat Oshoala defends Falz after he faced criticism for asking musicians to stop glorifying fraud with their lyrics

FalzTheBahdGuy in a recent interview called on fellow musicians to stop glorifying fraud with their lyrics and desist from praising fraudsters. This behaviour, according to him, serves as a bad example for the younger generation. A lot of people surprisingly criticized him for this, saying it was not in his place to call out fraudsters.

Nigerian professional footballer, Asisat Oshoala, stood up for him in a series of posts on Instagram. See more posts after the cut.

It's unfortunate that ehen some ppl try to correct the wrongs in our society others want to shout them down. If we can't call evil what it is, then what right have we to complain about a wicked world? Why is it that ppl are quick to remind others that the Bible tells us not to judge but they don't seem to remember that the Bible also listed ten commandments among other moral codes. If nobody's to judge, then why discipline children, why condemn criminals, why retaliate when attacked, why even listen to men of God? The idea is not that we shd keep quiet in the face of wrongdoing. Indeed, if we knowingly leave a person who is unaware that what they are doing is wrong to die in their sins, the Bible has it that their blood wd be in our heads. The same Bible says that we shd encourage one another in the faith. So a person is not judging another by pointing out the word of God to them;they are rather, condemning their wrongful act and urging them to change. Moreover, they are not condemning bc they themselves are perfect if that were so, even men of God wd not be able to preach. It is different when one can even acknowledge that they are doing wrong and strive to change, not continue in their waywardness and be brandishing their chest about it. Let's therefore be bold enough to correct one another. It could be one's little way of making this world a better place;or better yet, saving a soul.

So later we will say there is hope in this country. How can we progress when even the few people that come out to say the truth are not supported or listened to. Tomorrow we will all shout we want change. My fellow Nigerians this is how we can get change. Contribute your own small quota by doing right and speaking the truth. God bless you Falz
