North Korea remains a rogue state for its barefaced disregard of international laws. It has had series of nuclear tests, rattling its non-nuclear neighbours of South Korea, Japan and others. It has rendered the "six party talks" a mere chimera and has since conducted itself in a manner that runs counter to global peace. If America weighs a military option against North Korea it could be disastrous for we may have a nuclear holocaust since North Korea is a nuclear state threatening to strike America's installations and base in the pacific. Nearly all elements of diplomacy have failed to placate Kim Jung U to put an end to his nuclear programme or dismantle his nukes. This is an impasse.
It was president Eisenhower who said "we can't use those awful things again..." having realised the danger of nuclear warfare in the aftermath of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Eisenhower was afraid to use extreme military measure against the Vietnamese. What I propose is that America keeps deploying nuclear defence system to all the pacific states, watch North Korea's move and build more on the second strike capability, using humanly proportional target to pre-empt any offensive from North Korea.
A nuclear attack? I'm afraid the world isn't ready for that. Hiroshima of 6th august and Nagasaki of 9th august 1945 should be a lesson for us all, even for the alarmist Kim Jung Un.
