She was an undergraduate of the department of Management; School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT). According to a source who spoke with LIB her main reason for committing suicide was that she had carry-over in 9 courses in her first semester in the institution.
"She was a 100 level student of Management Department of the School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT). She saw her first semester result and had F in 9 courses so she went back to her hostel and drank ota pia pia," the source told LIB.
The school,
which was formerly called Federal University of Science and Technology,
Yola, FUTY, before the name was changed in 2011 to MAUTECH, is rumored
among students to be a tough institution to pass through and this will
not be the first time a student became frustrated after seeing their
result.

Lindiway I finished from Futy. Chemistry department I won't name the year cos we no the plenty.the frustration in that school is out of the world.i don't know the kind of sadist that lecture in that university.may her soul rest in peace.
Federal University of Technology Yola - FUTY. "Science". Very sad. I graduated from the school, it's tough but I know of young Boys and Girls (below 23 years) who still graduated with first class. I think the major issue is inadequate or lack of orientation for freshers.

Futy is truly a tough school. With lecturers like Dan Balla, Alkali all from Mathematics and computer department which every student must go tru I bet u, its not an easy place

Is true abt d news bcos am also a student of d University. Bt Due 2 security reason i wnt disclose my identity. MAUTECH is a very through University 2 pass through with maximum number of wicked lecturer who want us 2 fail. I dnt jst knw wat they wil gain by failing us. Imaging a lecturer wil b in d class teaching 4 sometimes more dan 5hrs, aw d f**k did he or she want us 2 understand d course if we aren’t understanding again, nd dey wnt waste tym in bringing tough questions because our C.A questions is no different with d normal exams.
I jst hope d university wil change there method bcos more suicide wil continue (not referring 2 me) if students c poor result after studying hard. Am stil in shock abt my own result. I was a 4.26 student nw av reduce to 3.68. It shall neva b well with dis university lecturers I swear

Hahaha... and It may be 2.00 before you graduate. LoL... Most Nigerian students are so lazy. We want to pass but we don't want to study hard. I will advise people to know what works for them. If Lectures doesn't work for U, spend more time studying alone and compare what you read with what was taught in the class. If U lecturer teaches U for 5hrs, I am s/he will definitely miss some of the period and so s/he just trying to make up. My point is plan yourself well and know what works for you and no matter their tactics, U will still excel. U may not have first class but U will never go below 2.1.
All this bullshit that is allover the world now is a real lie, nobody (she) that killed her self in MAUTECH, its seriousness students that did all this nonsense to spoil the name of the University
