A twitter user, Lady B narrated the importance of education with the story of a young boy whom she started sponsoring his education in 2008. According to her, she met the boy on her way to school and the boy pleaded with her to help him with 100 naira for his exams in exchange, he would do menial jobs for her.
She ended up paying his school fees that term and throughout his secondary school education. She continued when he got admission to the university and is currently in his final year. Read the rest of the tweets after the cut...

Highly inspiring it makes more sense, what some people do not know is that for everyone you help is an investment in the future and take it or leave it they are children , cos when you re old they will take care of you,, I remembered one IBO sister in my church wayyyy back , when I had no one! I mean nobody!!! Got sent out by my father at 17 lived with the drug dealers, junkies and need I say live under the bridge for almost 7 years, but then I met people that had empathy , paid for my jamb exams even when I failed , they never gave up on me ... Today, I m married with kids live in my own house drive my own car and I m forever indebted to these people I can begin to name them but they don't seem like they would want the publicity..... Its good to be helpful but let's not forget that some people are just scammers.....
So happy to see this post. Thank God at least some people on this continent still value education. These days all you hear is people talking big about developing Africa while still telling youths that education is overrated and that we should all be merchants...
What shall it profit you to gain the whole world and lose your soul?
