It is reported that he was attacked by angry okada riders who beat him up until he died.
Bashir Braimah, General Manager, LASTMA confirmed the incident, saying that he was on duty controlling and regulating traffic in Apapa when he was killed.
Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos also confirmed the incident, stating that the official was killed during a mob action. She also revealed that investigations into the crime has began and that people responsible for his death will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law

Normally I grieve when people die, but trust me if u have encountered lastma on d least/ inconsequential offense. U will hate them.they are wicked!! Extorting money on d road is what dey do not controlling traffic.i feel no pity for any lastma man for no reason. okada riders have taken over Apapa GRA posing a security risk.We are afraid for our lives as they seem to be Boko haram sleeper,Waiting for instructions to strike.Local government is absent in Apapa the place is filthy and overrun by miscrents from Ajegunle and Ijora.The best thing for us in Apapa is to vote in PDP in the next elections

It's only in Lagos that the government will pronounce a law and it will be glaringly disobeyed.the act of looking the other way by law enforcement agencies have embolden the Okada riders in Lagos.I guess it will now be action time.
A friend of mine was at the scene,it was the hausa okada riders that did killed the man. My friend even recorded it. Just don't know how to upload it here. What actually happened was that, some trucks were packed on the road side and when they saw the LASTMA people they rushed into the truck and zoomed off not knowing that one of their boys was sleeping under the truck relaxing, in short the boy died so the ZONAL head went there see what was happening, on getting there the hausas got angry because the drivers were running away from the LASTMA so they started stabing the man, beat him, pushed him into the gutter, broke his hand and stoned him several times,Giant stones that they even had to carry with two hands. It wasn't cool at all. Even the police that went with the man ran away when the whole thing started. This country is all about all man for himself. You are on your own regardless your job

It's not enough reason to not be sympathetic. This is a human life we are talking about and not LASTMA as a company. He has a family that loves him dearly and wouldn't even know to pass through this period..

Life is cheap in this country, where was a quick response, a truck fell on a lady's legs a few weeks back, there was also no quick response and she was loosing blood! no number to call like 911 like it's done outside the country, to help save life's. if there was, no excellent logistics on how to reach victims fast in a highly populated state.. What kind of leadership runs in this country! Anybody can just kill anybody! If people are even going to do jungle justice, why not do it to the right person...but still the risk is very very high among stark illiterate or among educated illiterate!
