Trucks falling on highways, fire related incidents, road accidents and more are some of the emergencies that the unit responds to. All you should do as a Lagosian is to dial the 112 or 767 emergency numbers if you have an emergency or notice any incidents in your area
You must have seen yellow vehicles on the streets of Lagos with blue inscription on them saying
“LASEMA RESPONSE UNIT”.
Meet the vehicles that do all the “heavy lifting”
Charlie
The Charlie is a Grove Crane that can carry up to 130 tons of metal. This crane has 40t of counterweight plus 60m of main boom and an 18m swing away fly plus an additional 14m insert available, giving the Charlie a dominant working radius. See photos of it in action
below
(This one can lift Olumo rock o…)
Goliath
The Goliath is a Kalmar Forklift that can carry up to 45 tons of metal. The Goliath is built for the toughest operations and its component were carefully selected to meet the highest standards.
The Mack 35T heavy tow truck
BMW power bikes for Emergency Rapid Responders.
These rapid responders patrol several roads in Lagos in a bid to respond to emergencies very quickly. Their functions include fast response to incidents for initial incident assessment, heavy equipment escort, high visibility patrols in hotspot locations and prevention activity in removing dangers from roads that have potential to cause emergencies.
The Intensive Care Unit Ambulance
The ICU ambulance is equipped with complete life support, ventilation and monitoring equipment as well as trained paramedics to care for the critically injured throughout the journey to the hospital or clinic where they are then handed over to the accident and emergency unit.
These vehicles are part of the contributions of Lagos State government to the LRU to bring down response times and perform smooth emergency recovery operations. Indeed #LagosCares
Lagosians do not hesitate to call the emergency numbers 112 & 767 for any emergency in your neighborhood.

Abuja does not have anything like this. Other states should please copy Lagos.

This is really good but the question is can we maintain it? this is one of our problems in Nigeria we cannot maintain anything owned by the government... look at BRT BUSES, how long have they been around for? and look at London buses how long have they been around for? well that answers the question....
