Story of a Soldier
It is not easy been a soldier!!
We have cloth in our wardrobes but the nature of the job leaves no chance to wear them!!
Patrol and escort both in the summer and winter
dressing combatantly everyday like an astonaut
while others are asleep we are awake...
While you drink table water and beverages in your homes, we manage water in the jungle
we do this just to suppress terrorism!!!
You lay on beds at night while we lay on tents and trench...
While you think of how to embazzle funds we think of how to attack external forces!!!
It is a work to God and humanity.
You fucking scream when you are cut by blade we endure when we are hit by a bullet!!!
When a soldier die, they dont take it as anything....
To them it is a normal thing!!!
But when their wives have miscarriage the whole earth will hear their cry!!!
May be you dont know we are also born from a woman.
Ohh Lord! I pray that every person, people, community, organization or parastatal that whishes me and my fellow soldiers awful death.....dry thunder from heaven should strike them down..

But when he remembers that some people are acquiring what they did not deserve or worked for, and they go scot free, he feels bad. That indeed is the essence of equity and justice. If you chose to use your fingers as against the fork...you deserve to "get equal measure of punishment . That's the only way to move forward.

That was to commemorate those soldiers who died while trying to hold ground in the battle of 480 BC. May the good Lord keep the men and officers of Nigerian Army (NA) who fight on in the front that we may celebrate this Xmas. Let us remember them that lost their lives in our collective defence so that these men like Abraham Lincoln would say 'will not have died in vain'

I'm not seeing any humility, courtesy or discipline which is the landmark of a soldier in this post. He has indirectly insulted people who have chosen other profession outside the military. I strongly suggest that someone should be cautioned before he gets so jealous of others with his arms.

I served in the Nigerian Army as a boy soldier, and also served in the US Army as a soldier. While it was always nice to feel appreciated for my service, at no point did I compare my circumstances with that of the average civilian. The civilian owed me nothing, I voluntarily enlisted in the Army(of both countries),I was fully aware of the occupational hazards, and I was paid to do my job. This fellow needs to soldier-up and do his job without worrying about the presumed privileges of civilian life. The doctor, sometimes, stays up at work for days while everyone sleeps, the security guard stays up while others sleep...many other people do many other unsavory jobs but take it in stride as it is a job they took on. This attitude of resentment is what leads military personnel in Nigeria to engage in maltreatment of civilians whom they are paid to protect from external aggressors. Perhaps, some of Nigeria's soldiers expected to remain in garrison throughout their careers, and now lash out uncontrollably when they are actually deployed to do the job for which they are paid and trained. In the US Army, the reality of combat was ever present, hence we constantly trained like we fight, and spent as much time as possible perfecting our craft to ensure that we always get the upper hand against the enemy. What civilians are doing with their lives should be the last thing on a soldiers mind. In conclusion, I'll advice this soldier to be a professional, focus on the task at hand, so that he can be a useful asset to his unit, as they strive to successfully execute their mission. Stop worrying about civilians and focus your attention on your primary objective, which is to obliterate the enemy. God speed!
