For sure not the African continent. We do these kind of trips with kids in kindergarten/nursery age. This is what we call good early childhood education. Learning by doing--->John Dewey's pedagogy have a read.
The truth be told in countries like Germany, BENELUX "bin man" are better paid than a preschool teacher. And it has a future, people won't stop producing trash. Instead of laughing, you would have asked the child why he is choosing this job. Am sure he would have given you a great answer. Children are more philosophical with their statements at times and have reasonable reason's for it.
