Dear LIB readers: How can I tell my boss that he has mouth odour

I just got a job with an auditing firm with a fantastic pay. I love
everything about my job except that my direct boss wants to chase me out
of the office with his bad breathe. Its so bad. I can't even describe
it. I have tried to cope within this two months I started but
mehn....Kai.... its getting to me now. How can I respectfully tell him
without getting myself thrown out of my job? I need your sensible advice

Send him an email. Be polite in ur mail and tell him you couldn't tell him to his Face but you do think he should know so he seeks medical help. You can use a private email so he doesn't know it's you.
Buy him chewing stick nd biggest jar of conc mouth wash with spirit 4 xmas . Lol A guy in my office too has d breath of a corpse mennnn it can run ur tummy . Nd d tin bout dis guys with bad breath is dat dey hav pretty wives nd babes (for men). its easier to tell a lady dan a guy.
This isn't hard, its a season of give away. Give ur boss a free dental check up. Find a way to give it to him without sounding offensive. You book the appointment for him n pay for it.

Stylishly asked my boss what type of toothpaste those he use and does he like this or that 'mouth breather,' I just name a few. Then, suggest a good one for him which I'll pretend to be using to stop food odor in my mouth.
Truly, coming forthright with your boss your are not close with, may get your fired. Lol But, to avoid been rude, indirectly bring up the conversation.

Whenever you're in the office always ensure that you have some strong mints or gum and always offer it to him. In fact insist he takes some off you and your problem may be solved.
Don't say shit, just buy him packs of bubble gum or better still, anonymously send him a text letting him know, and if he eventually finds out it's you, man up..

Simple, buy a brand new SIM card and send him an sms as a "concerned friend" or if you want to bring it closer to home you could send as "concerned staff". However, you will probably get better results by providing suggestions on what he could try. Be friendly and kind in your SMS. Finally, DON'T EVER LEAVE THE SMS IN YOUR PHONE O AND ONLY SEND WHEN YOU ARE NO WHERE NEAR THE OFFICE.
Another approach that can work is to start out by being flirty and coming on like you a chick that has the hots for him and wants to let him know but his breath is a total turn off. If you take this route though, you might have to keep the game on for a while. But, if you are a babe and he finds out, he you might find yourself in a pretty uncomfortable spot!
Candid advice! Don't leave your job. Buy walnuts learnt it's good for mouth odour,start eating them around him,he will like them too,offer them to him,tell him you eat it all the time and he should also try them @ night before he sleeps. Give him a christmas hamper and include a very good toothpaste, mouth wash and orbit in it. When you notice he is using it, comment on how good his breath smells and ask him what he is using pretending you don't know what it is.

My advice to you is you should first of all have a good rapour with him, observe the circumstance and mood he is, you should wehther he is in happy or sad mood before you can call his attention. Try and find a way of telling him. I had a colleague with such problem and I just made up stories about mouth/ body odour and how many people don't know they had them, how to prevent them and he applied them.
Don't tell him oohh !!! Haa unless u want a sack I suggest u get him gifts like mouth wash, orbit gum some times if you r coming to work. He will appreciate den with no harms made.
The fact is most pesistent mouth odour does not really emanate from the oral cavity. I found out after suffering the embarrasment of mouth odour for years even though i cleaned my oral cavity better than most people, that my problem was as a result of infection in the back of the throat. This is caused by infected mucous dripping into the throat when you sleep, as a result of "SINUSITIES" which i have been suffering since i was 11years. Other peoples constant bad breath may come from other sicknesses they are battling e.g. mouth ulcer, diabeties, liver or kidney issues & other sundry problems. So when you talk, the air just carries the breath from the inside. The shame of this challenge has led me to find ways to keep it under control. What has worked best are: LISTERINE mouthwash (other mouth wash worsen it) to rinse/gaggle the mouth/throat. Euthymol toothpaste mixed together with any other herbal toothpaste (only Euthymol will deaden the tongue & kill the taste buds) And The mother of them all: Bitter cola, Bitter cola, Bitter cola, it's antiseptic, antibiotic and controls the bacteria on contact. Chew 1 or 2 last thing at night & don't drink down with water, just swallow with saliva unless it irritates your throat. Wake up in the morning with fresh breath. I am reading about walnut for the first time, will try it. Like some people suggested, buy a new sim or use someone's phone to send him a message with these suggestions. Be nice, write thus: Pls this is what i use to control my condition, try them. Keep bitter cola & mints around to offer him. You can suggest in your message that he sees an oral Doctor. Starting with a dose of antibiotics will definitely help.

Most times pple who have mouth ordour like that are sick but don't knw. I wouldn't advice u tell him, bcos u risk the chance of losing ur job. It shudnt be anything that u can't bear... It's not like u sit next to ur boss or u guys kiss, imagine what his wife suffers
mouth odour is a very sensitive issue to address even with a loved one. i suggest you view it as one of the hazards of your job. afterall the pay is good. your telling him would depend on your relationship with him as anything you say could be easily misconstrued. GOODLUCK.

Tell him about any effective toothpaste you know of, like you use to have mouth odour but it stops since you started using that particular toothpaste and you advise him to use it too
God bless you ooooo. My own boss has an irritating habit of clearing his throat every 5 sec. And he coughs that often as well, without closing his mouth. I don't know how much longer i can bear this.HELP!!!!
send him a letter by an anonymous mail or by post, telling him about his breathe and treat himself. you can recommend any product you know or advice him to see his doctor. he may get angry at first on getting the mail or post but trust me he will want to find out if truly he has a bad breathe. keep your name out of it or anything that will link you to the letter. remember to act normal during this process

Make a general announcement in the office you have a dentist friend who cleans teeth half the price of others. Or, give out flyers to everybody in the office about your dentist friend who cleans teeth half price. Which means it just not your boss but everybody in your work place. Remember , it's a decoy, so you must find a dentist first , before the announcement. You tell him , you are fired! Period.
You cannot face him to tell him, neither can can you tell anyone he is close to tell him…they will detest you forever. What i will advice you is that you type a well written letter ( as an anonymous), analyzing how he has bad breadth and all the possible solutions you prover to him to improve his breadth.

I had a colleague with such problem and I just made up stories about mouth/ body odour and how many people don't know they had them, how to prevent them and he applied them.

The fact is most pesistent mouth odour does not really emanate from the oral cavity. I found out after suffering the embarrasment of mouth odour for years even though i cleaned my oral cavity better than most people, that my problem was as a result of infection in the back of the throat. This is caused by infected mucous dripping into the throat when you sleep, as a result of "SINUSITIES" which i have been suffering since i was 11years. Other peoples constant bad breath may come from other sicknesses they are battling e.g. mouth ulcer, diabeties, liver or kidney issues & other sundry problems. So when you talk, the air just carries the breath from the inside. The shame of this challenge has led me to find ways to keep it under control. What has worked best are: LISTERINE mouthwash (other mouth wash worsen it) to rinse/gaggle the mouth/throat. Euthymol toothpaste mixed together with any other herbal toothpaste (only Euthymol will deaden the tongue & kill the taste buds) And The mother of them all: Bitter cola, Bitter cola, Bitter cola, it's antiseptic, antibiotic and controls the bacteria on contact. Chew 1 or 2 last thing at night & don't drink down with water, just swallow with saliva unless it irritates your throat. Wake up in the morning with fresh breath. I am reading about walnut for the first time, will try it. Like some people suggested, buy a new sim or use someone's phone to send him a message with these suggestions. Be nice, write thus: Pls this is what i use to control my condition, try them. Keep bitter cola & mints around to offer him. You can suggest in your message that he sees an oral Doctor. Starting with a dose of antibiotics will definitely help.

Most times pple who have mouth ordour like that are sick but don't knw. I wouldn't advice u tell him, bcos u risk the chance of losing ur job. It shudnt be anything that u can't bear... It's not like u sit next to ur boss or u guys kiss, imagine what his wife suffers

mouth odour is a very sensitive issue to address even with a loved one. i suggest you view it as one of the hazards of your job. afterall the pay is good. your telling him would depend on your relationship with him as anything you say could be easily misconstrued. GOODLUCK.

Tell him about any effective toothpaste you know of, like you use to have mouth odour but it stops since you started using that particular toothpaste and you advise him to use it too

send him a letter by an anonymous mail or by post, telling him about his breathe and treat himself. you can recommend any product you know or advice him to see his doctor. he may get angry at first on getting the mail or post but trust me he will want to find out if truly he has a bad breathe. keep your name out of it or anything that will link you to the letter. remember to act normal during this process

Hmmmm........ it is difficult but right now if you can relate with him very well, then you start with sweet menthol when you know he is around, start leaking the sweet by yourself, later you can offer him too... let start from there first.

Make a general announcement in the office you have a dentist friend who cleans teeth half the price of others. Or, give out flyers to everybody in the office about your dentist friend who cleans teeth half price. Which means it just not your boss but everybody in your work place. Remember , it's a decoy, so you must find a dentist first , before the announcement.

Don't give only your boss mint. Request that all offices should be supplied mint because there is a complain that some people (including guests) have bad breath. Then everyone will have mint on their table including bosses. That is how most offices in the London do it. You are not targeting anyone then.
