Don Jazzy shares his thoughts on Nigeria in new music, 'Arise'

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Mavin Records CEO Don Jazzy shared his thoughts on Nigeria and the ongoing series of negative messages that are gradually defining the modern Nigerian perception, through a new song titled "Arise". Arise is an up-tempo song about belief and pride in the Nigerian heritage and potential. Released as Don Jazzy's contribution to the International Peace Day, the song also features vocals from Reekado Banks and Di'Ja. Listen to it after the cut...

Nice song kudos to you Don baba o. Buh honestly those who stand up and say they believe in this country are those who know how much money they make outta the citizens. That Nigeria will ever get better from all this corrupt and bad leaders will be the greatest miracle yet to happen

Nice message. I detect the Dorobucci beat in this song. An anthem like this deserves an original soundtrack. When will Don Jazzy give up on autotune? Every one of his songs is auto tuned to death.

Its not only the government that is corrupt in Nigeria. In most small offices, at the gas stations, cooks and domestic staff, teachers and lecturers etc are all corrupt in their little ways and yet everyone is pointing fingers at the government and God is laughing at them when they complain. He knows if these accusers are given the chance to hold any position, they will do worse. Nigeria is a country of complete hypocrites in all spheres. Easily judging other people without looking inwards at themselves. Most atrocities committed by Nigerians outside the country that have made most nations hate dealing with Nigerians are not caused by the government. Even in the same place where you find nationals of other countries like in the US, Europe, a lot Nigerians are mostly the ones from Africa committing the worse crimes. So if in Nigeria you blame the government, while outside you blame the government even when you have found yourself outside Nigeria? Funny nation full of funny people.

I totally disagree to Don Jazzy saying he came back from d UK bcs he belived in Nigera. why did he leave Nigeria to husttle in da UK if he really did? its simple. Don Jazzy and the other, including JJC, the then SID(Rapper with Da' Tribes family now turned Dr SID the singer),Dbanj and others, saw the success pips like 2FACE, RUGGED MAN,etc made of the Nigerian Music industy and came back home to tap INTO the opportunities. Athough, their exposure from the UK helped grow the music industry further, but na money make dem come bak. U.K is too sophisticated for Don Jazzy and co to have the kinda rep or success they have now, if they had stayed back they could neva have made it this big. NUFF RESPECT 2 BABA! #Factyarns.
