tweeted yesterday that the video we all saw wasn't the official one and someone betrayed him by releasing it. He also said he's re-shooting the video with UK based music video director Moe Musa. Sesan has responded to all the hoopla. See his statement below
My attention is drawn toward the chaos surrounding the release of the Skelewu video .
Myself and my
team shot the video for Davido in Nigeria and to the best of my
knowledge my client and his team were very happy with the result, when
they watched/ and approved the video. If he has since had a change of
heart, that is ok. I am not in any way responsible for the release of
the video. I believe Davido and myself did a very good job regarding the
video production and as a professional of over 10 years. I find it very
irresponsible and immature if my client and his management publicly put
out false statements/comments, in an attempt to tarnish my name,
credibility and reputation.
I remain dedicated, humble, focused and as hard working as ever. Thank you to all my fans and industry professionals - Stay blessed.

I took time to watch the video and came out burnt as usual with the constant firing of lack of creativity. Sesan, the video director is suppose to be one of the best in the country yet threw caution to the wind to direct a very noisy and too busy video. Davido had introduced a new dance for the song and even had a $3k skelewu dance competition which he revealed the winner just last week, yet the entire video did not have a full 10 secs of the dance form by the artist or choreographed dancers. In the usual bit to make a video look busy and full, they over cut the dance routines to very tiny bits and spread it round, so you don't get to appreciate the dance. I believe its an edit style most video directors do to distract the viewer. A lady was introduced from the beginning of the video walking by the pool and Davido admires her from his balcony, he walks into the house and starts tearing his own poster off the wall, the connection? I don't see, and that is the end of that scene till the video ends. The story does not continue in the video. We don't even get to see Davido dance fully this new skelewu dance. Again lack of creativity and detailed work has robbed a nice dance song a good video. Overall, I say its not too impressive video, could have been made simple and more like the KURUKERE video and allow it some air time to experience the dance. If they had pieced together clips from the many videos they got as entry it would have been more exciting because of the variety of the dancers. There was even an oyibo lady from London who submitted a video and danced better than even some of the black dancers who sent it entry. But you see in Nigeria we have the attitude of rewarding the wrong things. Wait and see.

So I guess it's back to the fans verdict, that's where your responsibility comes in sesan, and the verdict is not looking good, regardless of David O's denial. Learn from the experience and move on. I believe the video wasn't leaked, I am sure Davido approved the release of the Video but when his fans reacted negatively towards it, he decided to change his mind, but he could have done that in a more mature way. What he wrote about the video is detrimental to Sesan's carreer. The only thing wrong with this video is the obvious lack of fine boy talent on display. To correct this oversight sesan most have to feature in the next video. That will remedy the situation. It will be perfect if sesan just replaces davido in the video. That is my opinion.

You guys don't even think before you talk! How long do yo think it takes to produce a music video from conception to completion? I don't usually side with Davido, but I have to on this one. For Davido to already be shooting a new video a day after the leak and for the video to be ready by the 21st of this month, preproduction clearly had to have started at least a week or two in advance. People think!!! Why would Davido release a video (while he was on a plane to London!!!) and then plan a reshoot based on response- does that even make sense? He would have contacted moe musa to make arrangements weeks beforehand so that he can fly to london to shoot. Production does not just happen overnight o and from the pics I'm seeing on the moe musa prod- this video would have def been pre planned and organised before the leak. So clearly Davido would not have 'approved' the sesan video and then planned a re-shoot if he was happy with it. Sesan must have released it, saw the reaction, panicked and released that rubbish statement- na him scatter his own reputation- d ting just backfire for him face lol

I don't know why people are surprised. Those who know the real Davido, know that he was a nice boy that got lost by hanging out with area boys. He lacks class or maturity. From the right sources, some if us know Davido & his team deliberately leaked the video in the hope that people might accept it & when criticism came, (which happens to all directors occasionally) they decided to make Sesan the scapegoat. That's the motto of the entire HKN gang. They drop you & come back with flimsy apologies later. Sadly, the people I feel sorry for at the label are those two boys Sina Rambo and B_Red who still believe HKN will do anything for them. HKN has done nothing for anyone, including Orezi, whose time they selfishly wasted for a bit more fame for themselves. No one has walked through HKN and come out unscathed. It's Sesan today, Moe Musa will get his moment in the future, as will a lot of others who bother walking into the most local lion's den. Davido put out the concept for that video; Sesan followed instructions. How now can they justify the attack on a hardworking man's credibility. Just for that, I'm totally off Davido. As far as I'm concerned, he's Omo Baba Elede. Skelemooh to him for this one.
