The
day saw volunteers converge early in the day, with all hands on deck as they cooked
up a storm for the less privileged. There was also lots of fun, music, games
and more on hand to spice up the day. Highlight of the day was the volunteers
interacting one on one with the less privileged with an aim to giving them
‘HOPE’ for tomorrow. As part of the joys of the day, Jumia also presented
Okobaba Open Field, Ebute Metta venue of the event with a pumping machine to
drain their playing field during the rainy season.
According to Afam Anyika, Public Relations manager
at Jumia, “It
is of great honor to introduce such a CSR initiative. ‘Jumia
feeds Lagos’, a project initiated by Jumia Nigeria, Nigeria’s number 1
online retailer, a day for extending benevolence to the less privileged and
destitute in the society. Aim for us primarily is to show well-meaning
Nigerians and cooperates regardless of your industry there is still a lot we
can do to improve society.

Good initiative......couldn't help but laf at the alumongiri sisters that posed for pics with two fingers #deuces. Phyno, you are just toooooooo YELLOW! Haba! Guy slow down on the bleaching! Wtf?
Dis is really nice n laudable. God bless u Jumia. I wish alot more ppl can b sensitive n do such things for d less priviledged in d society
All this is just propaganda for Jumia to market themselves. If u really want to feed and help the poor you don't need to make it a news.
Me like the Zamani dude...
May God bless dem all for a heart of charity.... Am impressed!
Wetin dem go chop tomorrow?
A good Nigerian keep it UP!
Linda, please help me to tell Jumai and others carrying out this type of wonderful act to add more respect to it. You do not snap a child you are feeding without dress and publish the picture. Though you are feeding them, offer them the decency they deserve as human beings. I will also request that you invite your Kemi to this type of event.
That's good, but make tuna refund the money for my undelivered goods o. Saidat
Great job JUMIA!More of this initiative by other well meaning Nigerians! Maybe scholarships could be also considered to help pay school fees!
Eeeeeyah. Nice gesture. If only we all could contribute a little something to the destitutes

I hope that Stupid Kemi Olunloyo sees these pictures.I hate it wen dumb rich ppl blame poor people for being poor.
It is my dream to do this some day

Nyc concept, God Bless JUMIA.
wow nice one....see godwin and sabina of mornining runs where ushbebe una pikin...i love dis
Those children am seeing don't look hungry to me,they look like they can ask why there is no meat in the rice!!
they never jam' less privilegded yet!
Linda dear, its a laudable initiative but how does giving them one meal translate to handing them a new lease of life. They'll go back to being hungry by the time the next meal is due. The government really need to come up with something to empower these people. The problem though is if they would take advantage of any such programme seeing that they are used to getting money from passersby everyday.
That is a good effort.welldone jumia. Nigerian celebrities please volunteering to share food to the less priviledge(which u did not even provide) isn't enought. The problem of poverty is not a one day thing, dat rice was yesterday's meal how about today or d rest of their lives.please the celebs should contribute money and send a couple of those kids to school, that way those kids will be empowered and in turn help others.that's the only way poverty can be eradicated not by sharing one pack of rice each to them.this isn't for only the celebs we can do it too.poverty eradication is NOT the governments job! It is everyones job, remember that next time u pass a begger, clutch ur purse tight and walk away as fast as u can!
i do not buy the idea of taking pictures of these children. when you feed your children at home, do you take a pic of them and send to the national dailies telling the whole world that you fed your children?.
if you do not do that to your children, do not do it to others because you gave out plates of rice.*myopinion*
eiya... this is so nice. But chill ooo.... is that not kamar??? i see u Mr. kamar (mtn project Fame)
U try God Bless u so much Jumia Nd others
so kind of jumia but coke is still better than pure water.
so kind of jumia but coke is still better than pure water
Enjoy while its last ......I pray oooooooooooooo.
Good community job.
Keep it up Jumia.
Vocal Slender is doing same in Ajegunle through his GHETTO LOVE PROJECT but none of the big artistes are willing to support.
Anyway, its for the less privileged.
The joy this brings ÈŠ̝̊̅§ countless....wanna see celebrities do this often....Thank you guys God bless ur heart and the works of ur hand
Sommie*

Good Work frm Good People
nice work. God bless you and enlarge your business horizon.
Awww... Wonderful! I had goose bumps reading this and the pictures...awww...
Big ups to jumia! Nice initiative. I hope others would do the same and help the less privileged children in the society. God bless Jumia and all involved in this. And u too linda for sharing this wiv us.
GOD Bless them,it breaks my heart every time i see innocent children suffering for no reason other than the fact that their country has failed them!
Wow....very touching, go Jumia!!nice work u just put up a chellenge to all 'em high and mighty out there.
The wash that is Nigeria!!! And this helps them how? They are all more interested in how it makes them look. You feed them for a day and then what? You get good press, they go back to being hungry? Open a soup kitchen where people can come and volunteer. Still good press but it is charity for more than a day. My thoughts!
Dis Aunt Shola is yet to realize dat she's not a man abi *rme* Nice initiative from Jumai tho.....more grease to ur elbows
Good idea, feeding the poor. you feed them today, who takes care of tomorrow.
they should invest that fund in a project and teach them a trade so they can go on feeding themselves.
what they have done is given them a taste to more hunger, which can lead to more havoc in the society, you guys can do better than that.
Even if its just N5 dat u give, caring for a large number of people goes a long way. I hope to get involved with some of dis voluntary charity organization just so at least, I can tell God what I did with my time on earth. Keep it up guys
God bless Jumia for this fantastic CSR effort. I hope they keep it up and do even more. More reasons to shop Jumia! :-)
Go and feed dem 2moro,jumai has done his,do urs let's see and stop criticizing
Better than nothing ...but Would much prefer it if they channeled funds to ennoblement programs instead of packs of rice and indomie which will be gone in a day ...Scholarships, business loans etc
Walahi,u are one crazy dude/babe.
I burst out in laughter when I read ur comment.
How many have u given? Learn to appreciate. Ode
Where is koch now? I didn't see him on there.Repping MIS, yeah! Charity begins at home they say.
Atleast they did it. When did u last give a begger #10 not to talk of food. Mumu
You'll feed them tomorrow. Ode
Shut up joor. Why didn't u sew clothes for them abi person no dey chop ur money?
Just feeding is easy, thanks thou, but look further, what about housing them, teaching them skills etc. anyone can give them a pack of rice, indome, bottled fanta and coke etc. Jumia that i know should do more than this! Thanks again! Babz!
Now I am touched! I dont think anyone should come here with their selfrighteous B.S and start pointing out the mistakes or the fact that they wont do it it tomorrow or any other kind of nonsense ppl enjoy saying...just commend their effort and try to do ur own, even for the begger down the street,it doesnt have to be big. D.Y.
Even though they got my order wrong the last time, with t his I'll continue to patronise them.
Ehen and u nko? U no even get reward both on earth and in heaven. Olodo. Have u ever fed the poor?
Yes I agree but jumia did their part. They just fed them they can't alleviate the poverty just by themselves, that is for the govt.
Except u re a cripple,feed dem tmr
I don't see no picture of the kids, just picture of them showing off like morons. Kmt, this is just some sort of business strategy. Humane indeed.
Not Impressed, hissssss I know they can do better. What's with the pure water, can't they buy drinks? I feel other things shuld be provided, tins that can make them look up to tommorow.
you gave a number of children rice and u ran to the internet to display their pic while some clothe less? abegy do more, what is worth doing is worth doing well. who doesn't give rice to hungry children??? who? THOSE OF YOU WHO HAS NOT BEEN DOING SHOULD LEARN AND START. HELPING THE POOR KIDS IS MORE THAN GIVING 1 MEAL RICE AND RUNNING TO THE INTERNET WITH THE PICTURE. WAKE UP. DON'T JUST GIVE FISH , SHOW THEM HOW TO FISH. MAL MUSA AHMED.
Only few could show such gesture.keep it up.more grease to ur elbows
Dats exactly their plan
Dis is different; eithr a marketing strategy or saara
Really? So dey can develop diabetes as well?
Dis is different; eithr a marketing strategy or saara
d ideal thing about this poverty alleviation is to teach them aw 2 catch fish and not giving them fish cos they would still get hungry thereafter.

They tried though. Not just a day feed wld help the poor ones. So sad for this nation
I appreciate this but a day feed isn't just enuf. What happens tmw.. Wish I cld help. Just too sad. Lindiweee white smoke don show oo.
LOL!! @ wetin dem go chop tommorrow, its true nah, what will they eat tomorrow??
'they gave a new lease of life" its quite a shame if a business strategy now requires reducing the under privilege in our society. Why not hand out scholarships?
Nigerians can never appreciate something good even if it slaps them on the face!!! ur sitting in ur car and dese kids beg u for money wen ur driving and u zoom off..these ones were in the sun giving them food in their homes and ur here criticizing sayin wot will dey eat tmrw! at least they gave them food that day and who knows? dis mite b d last time cos of ur silly comments smh!!
