Is it the latest fashion or the new national flag? These were some of the questions on the lips of curious Lagosians yesterday, who woke up to the sight of optical Smartphone readable codes better known as barcodes in different areas of the metropolis. The imposing signs appeared everywhere, from shopping malls to school buildings, from billboards to T-shirts, everyone appeared to be rocking a barcode! The barcodes had a mysteriously simple message written below; ‘Scan me for a new attitude’.
According to eyewitnesses who scanned the barcode, they were confronted with yet another mysterious message in neon green. It read, ‘DON’T BLEND IN: BE UNIQUE, FIND OUT HOW ON 05: 04: 12’.
Feelers reaching us say that this mysterious new message is coming from telecoms giant Etisalat who are planning to unveil yet another innovative package for Nigerians on April 5. The company remains mum about the issue, but there is clearly a lot of buzz at their numerous offices and headquarters situated around Lagos.

Ok we are waiting for the new invention
I duff my hat for this Telecom company for their 'out-of-this-world' innovations, customer-centered services and out-of-the box advertisement. They've been around for just a few years but have managed to match the long term giants shoulder to shoulder, innovation to innovation.
Let's wait and see what they've got up their sleeves this time around.
Trust arabs. They know how to multiply their oil money well. Let mtn continue wit their stinginess. Mtchew. Ijeoma

They are called Quick response codes and they make a lot of information much more easily accessible. I'm actually doing some work on that at the moment. This is actually where technology is going now. Many companies abroad are beginning to use them effectively. I'm eager to see what Etisalat wants to do with theirs. It's a big tech step.
Etisalat is the best network in Nigeria for now. I cant wait for the NCC number portability to commence so i can transfer my mtn number to the etisalat network.

Thats awesome. Shows true globalism. These are everywhere in New York City. I scan them for shopping discounts and information. Love that Nigeria is yet again part of something global.
New flag ke? Looks like something that has to de with etisal.
Hopefully these advert boards will not fall on people when the rainstorms come oo> I still remember early this year after a thunderstorm and they littered the 3rd mainland bridge. The govt should check the safety of this installations before heads will roll after rainstorms o

For the Orange Men stunt...It would be best referred to as a PR stunt/Buzz marketing rather than as an advertisement.
