I got the photo on the left yesterday but didn't upload it because I didn't have all the details. People who sent it to me said it was a woman brutalised by her husband, but they couldn't give me her name or when the incident supposedly happened. So I really don't know what happened to her...but it's obvious that she was badly beaten....by someone. Now, the woman on the right had her fingers
slashed off by her husband who is a police officer. He was not arrested for the assault.
If you're a happily married woman, please re-assure some of us single ladies about this marriage thingy...because for the first time in a long time, I'm beginning to feel kinda happy that I'm single. The things I hear, see, even witness...it's beginning to get to me...

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 210 of 210Marriages have their ups and downs but it should never go this far. I do not subscribe to a woman remaining in her matrimonial home if she is being abused whether physically or emotionally. If there are children involved, she should get out even faster for a lot of reasons - preserving her life so that she is around to look after her children; and sending the message to her children that abuse of any sort is unacceptable. A woman should be strong enough to never let it get this far.
And to think we have been doing marriage this past weeks in sunday school in church. Now im really scared of that institution called marriage.
Before i married my now husband, i saw signs(beat me with a belt)*i felt he loved me so much,*mumu*) but still decided τ̅☺ marry him a̶̲̥̅̊ƞd̶̲̥̅̊ some years after,he almost killed me with blows, slaps, kicks, just bcos i disobeyed him. Since then he hasn't touched me but i still get τђё occasional verbal abuse from him.its not that i cnt leave him but i have 3 kids Føя him a̶̲̥̅̊ƞd̶̲̥̅̊ i still love. He has a G̶̲̥̅Ơ̴̴̴̴͡.̮Ơ̴̴̴͡D̶̲̥̅ heart but τђё problem is his temper a̶̲̥̅̊ƞd̶̲̥̅̊ his controlling nature of his.he more or less controls my life, its not bcos am a fool but just τ̅☺ let peace reign. i met a̶̲̥̅̊ƞd̶̲̥̅̊ married him when i was not yet a Born-again christian. Sometimes i wished i had left him after τђё first beating but what i do now is when i notice he is getting really angry during our arguments, i'll just keep quiet or when he abuses me, i wnt say anything. That as been τђё only way τ̅☺ keep him from beating me. My two sis are separated from their husbands and i dnt want τ̅☺ be among them. Pls τђё singles out there, try a̶̲̥̅̊ƞd̶̲̥̅̊ ask Føя τђё will of God before getting into any marriage. Ask him τ̅☺ lead Ɣõu̶̲̥̅̊ τ̅☺ τђё right man or woman. am suffering Føя making τђё wrong choice. P.S. i married him when he had nothing, so it wasn't bcos he was rich.*sighs*
It's amazing that all of the women that are responding have never been abused. Until you're in the situation then you'll never understand it. I have never been abused to this point but I am dealing with my own situation with my husband right now. There are no resources for abused women, no family to help because they either want to stay out of it or won't allow you to come move in with them. People talk about this everyday but where are the abused women.."not talking about it because people like you guys blame them for a situation they never seen coming". If you've never been in their shoes SHUT UP because you'll never understand how alone you are in this cruel world until you become the woman that is abused. You'll never be able to relate until you're in their shoes. Open your doors because the battered woman shelters don't allow you or your kids to be around family or friends. You are hidden like an animal and have to sleep in dirty nasty places with your kids. So you're going to talk do something about it. Go buy a home for a battered woman and house her and her kids comfortably where they don't have to go to be treated like an animal locked up because their a victim.
What adds to the mystery is that most of the women are themselves mystified by their own choice. When pressed, however, many respond by saying “Because I love him”; emotional attachment to the abuser is one of the primary reasons battered women give for why they choose to stay. From an evolutionary psychological perspective, love and other emotions are proximate mechanisms that compel organisms to engage in behavior that, in the context of the ancestral environment, would have increased their inclusive fitness.

Everyone keeps talking about battered women. What about battered men ? cos I know a woman who breaks her husband's bones constantly.
How we get easily fooled! These are two different pictures of two different people. The woman with the face is fair and the owner of the hand is dark!
My people, I am a married man and I adore my wife so much, I believe that if all women can work towards getting married and stop waiting for already made man whom you can't even say his roots, we all shall have a happy home.Let us stop loving shine shine things and be realistic in what we want. Every man has one wife for himself specially packaged by God so when you marry a man meant for another woman, you will end up marry 2000 men before you clock 60 yrs.Be wise
I am writing a novel with an abused woman as the main character. I need help: I need to know if I am getting the voice right. Will any of you read parts of my novel and tell me if it sounds true?
