Nero fiddle as Rome burned.

Nigerians are distracted, confused and wrecking each other while Nigeria's economy goes to hell. Tragic.

Don't blame PDP for "disappointing" you. Blame yourself for being gullible, fooled by them and voting for them.

"Protesters" are the New Boko Haram. Just like the Hausa / Fulani led Islamic terrorists, Boko Haram, "protesters" are economic saboteurs and puppets being manipulated by a third force (for their own selfish interest and agenda). You are being used. Wake up.

Stop relying on circumstances, people, politicians, "the economy" or the government to "fix" your problems. Wise up, be sober, be alert, rely on yourself and hustle hard.

As sad as I am to report, I showed up at the thing, and all the people you see in the video, are literally all the people that were there.

maybe it wasnt planned or publicized well, but for it to attract 30 or so people is shameful...

SUBSIDY REMOVAL: How Rita Dominic,Others Sold Conscience for N200K
January 11, 2012 · 2 Comments · By nigeriafilms.com
rita-dominic

It is no longer news that concerned masses of Nigerian nation are fighting back with everything left in them to ensure that President Goodluck Jonathan will not remove fuel subsidy, which has automatically inflated the price of petroleum products from N65 to N141 per liter.

Little do the citizens of this nation know that while they are crying and gnashing their teeth over the subsidy issue, the Federal Government has been busy doling out millions of naira to buy over the conscience of famous and prestigious citizens of this country.

On Friday December 30,2011 at Eko Hotel and Suites,Victoria Island,Lagos,it became the turn of Nigeria movie industry to collect their own share of the “Ghana-must-go” loads of naira notes that have changed hands over the fuel subsidy removal.

At the very moment when Nigerian “suffering masses” have not forgiven Nollywood stars for campaigning and voting Mr. President into office as a result of all the millions they got, they have done yet another grievous offense by accepting his bags of money to support fuel subsidy removal and keep mute while the poor masses are crying.

The closed door meeting took place during the Nollywood Forum entitled,”Understanding Deregulation”. Mr. Oronto Douglas, who represented Mr. President, outlined various promises and millions that will be allocated to various sectors of economy, states and local governments when fuel fuel subsidy removal comes to existence, concluding that economic development will take off through all the billions that will be realized from subsidy.

After throwing questions on what all the money that will definitely come to the fat pocket of federal government through fuel subsidy removal will be used for, stakeholders of Nollywood who came en mass promised to support removal on the grounds that President Jonathan will fulfill all his promises to allocate all the money that will be realized to various areas of the economy, states and local governments or Nollywood will be the very first industry that will rise up and revolt against him.

We are begging Mr. President because all of us in Nollywood went out of our way to campaign and vote him into office, since he assumed office we have seen ourselves being asked by people to go and meet Jonathan anytime we complain about the situation of things in the country, because they are aware of the things we did during the campaign period.

So, Mr. Jonathan should come to our aide and look into the $200 million grant that he promised entertainment industry.Stakeholders stated
Even though he answered all the questions, comments and motions as he could,Mr. Douglas did not visit Nollywood film makers empty handed as bundles of money packed in “Ghana-must-go” bags exchanged hands in the venue.

We reliably gathered that these Nollywood stars got N200,000 each for supporting fuel subsidy removal. Those present at this close door meeting between federal government of Nigeria and Nollywood stakeholders include; President of Association of Movie Producers, Zik Zulu Okafor,President of Actors’ Guild of Nigeria,Segun Arinze,Zeb Ejiro,Chico Ejiro,Frank Dallas,Mathias Obahiagbon,Peace Anyiam Osigwe,Paul Obazele,Fidelis Duker,Chike Bryan,Sunny Mcdon, Abubakar Yakubu,Rita Dominic,Monalisa Chinda, Florence Onuma,Charles Novia,Fred Amata,Zack Orji, Chairman Actors’ Guild of Nigeria Board of Trustees, Ifeanyi dike,Emma Ogugua, and many others.

Buckinghamshire NHS Primary Care Trust paid out £117,812.30 on 31 separate invoices to a non-existent ‘Made House’ care home over a four month period in 2009.

The fallout from the Lola Mabun fiasco uncovers that Buckinghamshire NHS Primary Care Trust paid out £117,812.30 on 31 separate invoices to a non-existent ‘Made House’ care home over a four month period. The fraud went undetected due to fact that Lola Mabun worked for the trust and was able to authorise the payments.

To me occupying nigeria means saving nigeria from bh not fighting president jonathan's policy on deregulation if nigerians are wise and believe that his presidency is divine then we must expect some uncommon decisions from him and work and help him transform nigeria and save nigeria from evil men

I have been saying it in my closeth that any day an average Nigerian discovered how he has been deprived of his right,it will not be easy for government to control them. Our eyes has open to our right, govt.shld know that they can't enslave nigerians anymore. So, let our leaders come down to our level & listen to us. Hungry man is an angry man.

I seriously doubt you are in Naija....if he/she is, you will know the gravity of what this subsidy thingy is. Pple died, prices of everything has and will literally go up some more. What other news do you want to hear? That Dencia had a boob job? that beyonce had a baby and named her blue? that Jim Iyke bought a new bentley? What other naija news is greater than Occupy Nigeria. Some folks are so ignorant and don't think before they comment....4 real?

Typical. Another fool that cannot face the truth. You are overdosed on foolishness. Are you possessed by Satan. Me and stupid people don't get along. Make a valid argument for or against the issue at hand instead of vomiting crap. I challenge you to make a case for or against, dumbass.

Anonymous said...

What proof or evidence do you have for your stupid allegation? Are you a child? Anyone can make any allegation and untill you substantiate your allegation with evidence, I suggest you drink bleach.

Suffer? Poor man? Where? Are you talking about yourself? GEJ is now among the richest politicians in African.

My friend, speak for yourself. If you are losing focus or hallucinating, I suggest you see a doctor or buy yourself spectacles or binoculars.

In the struggle we still find time to be laugh. We are not too demanding and love to catch our fun. God help us.

MY VIEW said...

We need to put measures in place to stop briebery and corruption. It has eaten deep into the fabrics of our society. Even the labour union leaders are culprits.Oil subsidy, although painful now, will do us some good if managed well.

My candid opinion is that Nigerian dependance on oil is too much. Those who are buying this oil from us are busy looking for alternatives and we are standing on the streets, non-productive asking for subsidy removal. One day we all will wake up to find out that nobody is interested in our almighty oil. Then what???

THIS IS THE TIME TO DIVERSIFY OUR ECONOMY. Agriculture is the answer.Incentives should be given to farmers. My two kobo...
