Dear FG, instead of the planned toll gates next year, why not repair the bad roads?

Rural Road Access and Mobility Project sometime back said that 85% of Nigerians roads are in bad condition. Hundreds of people are dying everyday on these horrible roads. And instead of our government to concentrate on building good roads and repairing the bad ones, they are more interested in introducing toll gates on major roads, which they say will commence next year. What a government!

Continue to see a scene of a fatal car accident which occured along the Abuja-Lokoja Expressway this week. Gruesome photos, dead bodies and survivors. Please do not look if you don't have the stomach for such. I'm putting this here so some of you know what people are facing in this country on a daily basis. Some avoidable deaths, if only the government will care a little. Continue to see the photos...

Dear FG your bad roads are killing people. They say the Abuja-Lokoja highway is a deathtrap. Do something pls!

I dont understand why people are complaining. You had the opportunity just 8 months ago to remove PDP government, by you refused. You should have tried another party and another set of people. That is how it is done in a sane society. I beg una never die reach. Please, continue to vote PDP in every elections.

And some people have the nerve to tell me Goodluck and some of those crappy leaders "are trying" "don't be too harsh on them". Fack off!!!! Dunno how these people can travel abroad and open their mouth and say they are representing Naija in those events they spend so much money flying to/attending. Stupid leaders, and even more stupid arse-licking followers. Call a spade a spade. These leaders are shyte! Just cos one or two of them might be better than some of the thieving clowns we had back in the day doesn't mean we should praise these current leaders. So this is the kinda road my people back home are driving/walking on?! Those without cars I feel sorry for the most.

Everyday I am saddened by the needless deaths in Nigeria especially on our roads. I have been in an accident in nigeria and it is by his grace that I am alive today. Having said this, there is a lot of pressure on the country's petrodollars since Nigeria is not hugely productive in the non oil sector. We need to be more creative to have more funds in our national treasury but in the mean time government needs money and has to tax all one way or the other in order to improve livelihoods. Unfortunately as other governments move towards evidence based policies and fiscal management , Nigeria remains largely confused hinging the hopes of people on opinion based populism like Linda's or nothingvat all.

Abi Linda!!

My personal story: My dad had an accident exactly Abuja-Lokaja rd in Feb 2004. Can't remember if it was before or after Lokoja now but it was bad!!. He sustained spinal cord injury C4 L6 as in paralysied!! Thk God he had a good job and his employers sponsored his trip to England for treatment that took almost a yr.. I was just 14 my mum was 2wks pregers, went thru all that stress.. He lived 4 Exactly 5 yrs and almst a month but I guess d pain was too much...

Our govt keep looking for silly rules and laws to implement when there are better things to be done to improve the lives of Nigerians!

Imagine 10 comments for a news like this. These pictures are enough to cause revolution in a sane society. When the news is about Omotola or Genevieve, then you will see 500 coments, talking about misplaced priorities. Nigerians need to take life more seriously. Una never die reach.

Hmm Linda, you see life so? It is so evident that we Nigerians are the architects of our sorrows. You post something as important as this only 10 comments! But put somnething about some random artiste or some homosexual, comment go full ground, dem go take yab you inside some sef.

Why hasn't this post kick-started us into some sort of protest or petition or some strong reaction?

So people are dying on the street is low news but 2 silly gals who can't act to save their lives fighting over some ugly ass is big news!
hmm in the words of the late Sonny Okosun- Which way Nigeria?

The sad truth is that our govt do not give a rats ass about it's citizens, most of them hardly travel by road so they feel immuned. Why does govt need 2 mount tollgates 2 fix roads? These politicians should please cut down on their extravagant spending and concentrate on taking care of their duties. Na wah!!

My parents live in Lokoja. whenever they have to travel out, its always prayers to get there safely and back, same for us whenever we visit home. I witnessed an accident once that had a man cut into two, and his head was removed from the torso, the car theywere travelling in was on fire. The road is a death trap and this is the major connecting road to the southern part of the country from abuja. It has been under construction for dualisation for 5 years now and it is no where near completion. Government doesnt care because My state doesnt produce oil nor do we have militants or boko haram to threaten them, only God shall rightly judge and reward our leaders accordingly.
