Yoruba Actor Yemi Solade Takes A Break From Acting

The top Yoruba actor has been missing in action for a while now in the movie industry. Close friends to the actor say he's decided to take a break from the profession that brought him fame and concentrate on other things because he no longer finds fulfillment in acting...and the profession also wasn't particularly financially rewarding for him. But acting is his first passion so he'll definitely be back.

yeah, Thats a very smart idea from him, Nigerian movie industry is s#*t, they don't pay them well, and hardly do they make enough money to sustain them and the crowd looks at them as if they are some kinda billionaires... We all know the rich ones are into shady businesses, using that as cover up. and the ladies have to f#*k for movie roles.. Its so full of s#*t, i just hope it would change someday...

Hey! Hey! Hey! Heyyyyyyyy :) Linda, please! Why the 1970s title, "Yoruba Actor .... " ???? If he was Ibo, would you have titled it, "Igbo Actor ...." ? The title of your post should have been "Actor, Yemi Solade Takes A Break From Acting" Or "Nigerian Actor Yemi Solade Takes A Break From Acting"

BTW, I'm Ibo, not Yoruba or Hausa, please. We're all Nigerians. Thank you :)

Good point Breastus Boob.

He's a really good actor, so shame about him having to take a break. But if it ain't paying, it ain't paying. Good luck to him.

Yemi Solade is a graduate, acting in Yoruba films where actors do not earn much money. If he had joined Nollywood, he would be a millionaire by now. At a point, he had to live in hotels at staggering costs.

He was taught in the university by Wole Soyinka so he should try to write or move on... Poverty is not a joke.

It is when people start laughing at you that you will feel real emotional pain, yet you 'cannot' steal.

yes o Yemi Sholade. i don't blame you at all. i mean nollywood simply sucks these days when all the movies revolve around money rituals, yahooze or cultism. i mean give me a frigging break. i miss yemi sholade but i am also glad he is able to do other things cos life would suck if all his hope rested on Nollywood. Yemi is smart, sharp and educated. i find it demeaning actually that his likes have to work with some crass beings in that yeye nollywood. his role in Madam Dearest OMG? this man is a actor in his own league. same with Ope aiyeola. i mean these people are just world class actors and actresses. these days i feel bomarded with the likes of Eniola Badmus, Dayo Amusa , iyabo ojo etc...who can't act to save their lives unless it's cult or aristo related. bunch of talentless nonentities
