An Ikeja-based trader, Deji Morufu, on Tuesday, spoke of the activities of ‘one-chance’ drivers on the Ikeja-Ojuelegba axis of the Lagos metropolis. ‘One-chance’, as they are called in Lagos, are commercial buses used by robbers where a few of them disguise as passengers. Unsuspecting commuters who get on such buses are mugged.
Morufu attributed the new wave of ‘one-chance’ operators on the Ikeja-Ojuelegba route to the ember-months when people usually go out to make money at all costs for Yuletide celebrations.
Morufu, who lives at Ojuelegba, said that last Thursday, he was returning to Ojuelegba at about 7: 30 p.m. from Ikeja and boarded a commercial bus with registration number XE 527 MUS, with other passengers.
At about 8:00 p.m., the bus driver parked at Anthony Bus-Stop, under the bridge, claiming that a passenger wanted to alight from the bus.
However, no person got down from the bus, but some hoodlums came out of the shadows with guns and robbed all the passengers of their belongings, while the driver ran away.
When contacted, the Lagos police spokesperson, Samuel Jinadu, said the case was not reported at any police station. He, however, assured residents of their security and safety at all times; adding that the city was under security surveillance by plain-clothed police officers.

Oooooo na...
I'm alwz scard of d ember mnth!
And in Abuja, u get into a cab not knowing there's som1 hiding in d trunk of d car. When d driver gets to a quiet and dark place, he slows down, d accomplice jumps out of d trunk and you are robbed. Or in some cases, d driver robs u himself. Plus a few cases of rape for those who move around in cabs at midnight.
Abeg! There is no need to warn those that said Nigeria is better than Britain. Ha ha ha! In Britain, it is easy for the police to catch robbers without sweating.
hmm.....that means Otokoto go resume next month........SMH
