Over 200 Nigerians Detained in Libya

“So far, we have over 200 Nigerians being detained in various parts of Libya. We do not know their fate. We are praying that they will not be killed like other black migrant workers. The general pattern is that the rebels mount roadblocks and everytime black people are sighted in a bus, they will quickly arrest them and hound them into various cells in the city." Daramola Siji, spokesman for trapped Nigerians in Tripoli. - The Nation

Someone should please pass this news to our Foreign Affairs Minister, thanks

This is the same rebel group that Nigerian government is supporting. so south Africa is right. This is pathetic. Even France and the US that are supporting the rebels are doing so at their own peril or for their selfish gain. African leaders should come together and put an end to this barbaric act.

The most painful thing is that we Nigerians treat people from Libya like gods in our own country. What a shame.

Olorun mu yin! What are you doing Libya of all places?? I pray they come back home alive and that they have learnt their lessons. All the ones that went to Libya and claimed to be America or UK will be exposed.

When others were being evacuated, they decided to remain. We kno say our country is not the best, but sometimes we all have to be realistic. Now they have themselves to blame for not leaving Libya with their mates. May God Almighty protect them, and give them the sense to return home as soon as our leaders decide to do something...
