Going through the comments on SaharaReporters, one would realise we have a huge problem in Nigeria. The man accused was identified as "the deputy state governor", you won't believe how many people turned it to tribalistic sentiments. There is no way we are moving forward in this country anytime soon.
The truth is, a lot of our politicians are fraudsters, cocaine pushers/sniffers, ritual murderers and felons. They come home and are celebrated. So singling him out, IMO is no biggie. He didn’t contest for an elective post, he was chosen. People like Tinubu, OGD, Ibori, Araraume, Uche Nwole, OhaKILL etc contested and won elections and nothing happened to them. Ibori’s present travails are more political than anything else. I mentioned these names because these fraudsters are spread all across Nigeria and not just in one zone.
Also, his brother Martin is a grand patron of APGA. He had contested for the role last time out and lost. This time, he’s remaining as a kingmaker and has installed his brother as the Deputy Governor. Next time out maybe Nkiru Sylvanus will be the Deputy Governor.....LOL!
OMG, it all adds up now. This is why he couldn't enter america and he just used to give us shady stories.

I don't blame ppl turning it into tribalistic sentiments or whatever sentiments they deem fit...our politicians are heartless greedy, hooligans, who have succeeded in looting and pillaging from the coffers of our economy, leaving families destitute with no where to turn...this clown needs to be extradited to the US to face felony charges, and locked up at rikers, or some other correctional facility....anytime a Nigerian's name is mentioned here in the US nowadays it is synonymous with negativity, and fraud...when some Nigerians start up a business they don't make it legitimate rather it is wrought with criminal activity...most recently the medical supplies business, and home health care business, wherein the govt pays for services for dead or bogus non existent ppl....i don't want to get to the point where i would have to be ashamed of being a Nigerian in the US...

hmm. this is quite sad cos I had a lot of hope for Imo (Rochas). But with people like this, his plans may turn sour.
But that doesn't mean this shouldbe turned to tribalistic argument. As Damie said, Nigeria has a looong way to go with tribalism. It doesn't help the nation as one and very soon we may see this affecting our unity. Go to nairaland and you'll see what i'm talking about.
