It wasn't bribe, just transport money' - Pastor Tunde Bakare

Rev. Tunde Bakare, senior pastor of Latter Rain Assembly, and convener of Save Nigeria Group (SNG), has denied claims by Sahara reporters that fifty thousand dollars was offered to members of the group as bribe in exchange for their support, during a recent visit with President Goodluck Jonathan.

In a telephone conversation with huhuonline.com, Rev Bakare said, “We visited the president, we made our position known to him, and were offered transport money, but we rejected it, based on integrity. “It was not a bribe” he affirmed.

This is getting confusing. I don't know what to think anymore.

I don't know how GEJ will even have 50,000 dollars to be throwing about. And they took it? I guess as evidence. Goodluck has to come out and talk before anyone can conclude.

The art of double speak..and dude is meant to be some top Pastor..what's the congregation to think when our Pastor decides to lie..what happened to I fear no man but the Lord!!

Well it was quite obvious to me it wasn't a bribe. If you've rolled in those govt circles :), $50k is just about right for hold and buy sweet or as transport - certainly not for bribe.

Excuse me, N7.5m is not that much money - if GEJ doesnt have that kind of money, then there is a problem.

Infact let me not start, how much is $20k really or is it the $ confusing pple.

Is this one double -reporting cos he's supposed to be a man of God...yeah,I'm sure he's a man of God..that's my own opinion oo. I don't listen to his messages cos he's too on the offensive, but there was someone like that in the bible, soo i just mind my business and keep of his messages...but the few i've listened to were sound!...i also don't dig his giving out immature prophecies...but every man is fallible!

Nigerian Politicians are thieves.

Nigerian pastors are rogues 99.9% of them are in the clergy for $$$s.

Please wait... $$$s LOADING. LOADING. LOADING into their pockets while poor people dey suffer for Nigeria.

GEJ have started rigging election before election start. He wants the pastors to get their members to vote for him. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's arm is being twisted by EFCC on behalf of GEJ. Watch, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome will come to an arrangement with Goodluck Jonathan and his party and the money laundry charges against him will be dropped.

EFCC is the gestapo of whichever rotten and corrupt vagaborn that is in power in Nigeria.

i said it..he talks too much..and someone was insulting me for criticizing him... i knew it wasn't a bribe from the get-go...

$50,000 transportation money doesnt make any sense...And even if it was transportation money, which funds did he use...Government or personal? GEJ is obviously going to continue the culture of wasteful spending..."Which way forward Nigeria?"

Sahara reporters are fond of manipulating comments and news, I personally do not regard any news from Sahara as News. They are unprofessional; look at how their reporter communicated with Gov. Fashola at the London Press release. grossly unprofessional.

First of all, just because I come to you and say that Jonathan sent me doesn't mean that he did. I feel sorry for Jonathan because he has just as many people in his camp trying to undermine his leadership as he does outside his camp.

I believe that Tunde Bakare started out saying he was bribed and is now changing his story as part of a larger orchestrated political drama. He ain't ish
