Singer Alicia Keys is trying to raise money for her charity, 'Keep a Child Alive', by convincing her celebrity friends to stage their 'digital deaths' by posing in coffins and swearing off Twitter and Facebook until they raise $1 million for AIDS awareness.
Alicia says,
''Once I got people on the phone and I was able to paint the concept for them, everybody was in. ''We're trying to make the remark, 'why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying in the place that we're all from?''Participants include Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Swizz Beatz, P Diddy, Serena Williams, Janelle Monae, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Kim Kardashian and more...
Great thing she's doing. But what do you think of the concept; creepy or creative?

Very Very Very Creepy!!! I ain't getting into a coffin until I'm actually DEAD... Not to even think of campaigning under a slogan of **** is dead. God forbid. Too morbid for me!!! There's power in words and actions. I think they could have come up with something else less creepy but still effective.

Interesting way to raise money; I like the creativity. I bet it will be pretty effective too! Question though, are the celebrities quitting social media for 24 hours in hopes of getting only their followers to donate, or are they themselves donating as well? I hope they are also making generous donations; definitely a well-worthy cause!
