BMW today said that it voluntarily recalling 350,000 of its most expensive models world-wide due to a possible loss of brake hydraulics support, adding the defect has not caused a single accident.
The problem was discovered in models equipped with the very large 8 and 12 cylinder engines popular in the United States, where most of the vehicles are being recalled.
Some 345,000 BMW brand 5, 6 and 7 Series models built between 2002 and 2010 are being recalled world-wide, or roughly one year and four months' worth of production of those model lines.
Of that almost 200,000 are owned by U.S. residents.
